Worth The Wait [Chapter 13]

"Jack!" He heard his voice, as he was trying to make his way through the swarm of people in the airport for what felt like the millionth time. His plane had successfully landed in America and he was ready to be greeted by Mark.

Finally pushing through the crowd of rushing people, Jack came face to face with his red haired, American boyfriend. Jack smiled a huge smile, as did Mark. It wasn't long before the two of them tackled each other into a close embrace.

"Hey Mark..." Jack muttered over Mark's shoulder.

"Heh, hey Jack. It's so good to see you again..." He answered, still hugging Jack tightly, almost as if his life depended on it.

However, the moment was soon interrupted, by none other than two friends who were probably feeling a little awkward at this point, as they were practically the 3rd and 4th wheel.

"Look, guys, as touching as this scene is..." Bob started, as he was also standing next to his wife, Mandy. "We should probably get out of here before any fans see us here and start asking questions."

"Yeah... You're probably right." Jack answered, pulling away from Mark. Mark was still grinning like a big doof, but there was a slight look in his eye that told Jack he was probably kind of disappointed that the moment couldn't have lasted any longer. It saddened Jack too, that he couldn't really be seen acting too friendly with Mark in public. After all, they weren't really ready to confess to their fans yet, and the last thing they both needed was a bunch of homophobes attacking them a few days before the panel.

"I'm so looking forward to the panel!" Jack said, as the 5 of them started walking alongside each other through the airport. The others nodded in agreement.

"Remember to fulfill your place on our panel, Wade." Mark commented, grinning at Wade.

"Oh, you mean the class clown?" Bob chipped in, getting a small laugh, even from Wade.

"Well, Mark seems more like the goober, just saying." Jack said.

"Hey! Why would you say that?" Mark pouted.

"Because it's true. I mean, Wade is goofy but you're...." He paused and laughed a little, as Mark was watching for his complete response. "Like, 'hello everybody, my name is Markiplier an I'm a big goofy goober. Look at my amazing muscles.'" Jack taunted, doing a pretty accurate impression of him, which caused both Wade and Bob to laugh.

"Yeah, 'cause as if you don't know about these already." Mark jokingly winked, as he flexed for a moment, still causing all of them to giggle, and Jack to blush a little.

"Jesus christ, so hard right now." Jack continued, going along with the joke. At this point, they were finally out of the airport and were all losing it with laughter. "Anyway," Jack continued, once he had finally stopped feeling like his sides were going to explode from the amount of laughter that was escaping his mouth. "I want to get to the hotel I'm staying at so I can just dump all my shit in the room so I don't have to carry it around with me all day, if that's cool with you guys."

"That's fine." Bob replied. "We've already been there and back anyway, seeing as we don't have our stuff on us. Mark just really wanted to meet you at the airport, so we agreed and came with him."

"Oh, right." Jack blushed, a small grin forming across his face.

As time passed, they eventually reached the hotel that Jack was staying at, and with a rise of his eyebrows, Mark grinned and patted Jack on the shoulder.

"Hey, what are the odds? I'm staying here too!" Mark exclaimed, sounding super happy about that fact. Jack grinned back at him.

"Really? Awesome!" Jack answered.

Wade, Bob and even Mandy shared a look, all having strange expressions on their faces. Well, Bob's was more of a straight face. Though, even with a straight face, it was weird how expressive he could really look. Then, that's when Wade started snickering, which set Bob off into a loud onslaught of laughter. Both Mark and Jack looked at the two of them in confusion.

"What's so funny? Did I miss a funny thing?" Mark questioned, looking lost and bewildered. For some unknown reason, this set Wade and Bob off further into their laughing fit, while Mandy was just awkwardly standing there, with a small smile on her face.

"N-Nothing! It's just..." Bob tried to explain, before he started again. Mark rolled his eyes in frustration, waiting for Bob to just spit it out. "You and Jack are staying in the same hotel, huh?" Bob finally asked, raising his eyebrows up and down.

"W-Wha-- Yeah, but-- Oh, come on Bob! With the jokes?" Mark grinned, with a small sigh. Jack chuckled along a little, as he scratched the back of his neck, feeling like he was going to start blushing again.

"Alright, alright. Well, why don't you take your stuff up to your room, Jack? We'll wait out here, maybe Mark can help you, wink, wink." Bob continued, still looking quite smug.

"Oh, har har." Mark sarcastically responded, before turning his attention back to Jack. "Though, would you actually like help?" He honestly wondered. Jack shrugged.

"To find my room? Sure I guess." Jack said.

"Don't have too much fun." Wade commented, getting yet another eye roll from Mark, as he and Jack set off to head inside the hotel to go and find the room he was staying in.

After going to the reception desk, Jack was given the key to his room with a number on it. Sadly, the two of them did have to go up a LONG flight of stairs, because it seemed the elevator was busted. Go figure.

Going through much exhaustion, the two of them finally reached the floor that Jack needed to be on, sounding like they had just ran a freakin' marathon. They even needed a little time to recover at the top of the stairs, before starting on the hunt down the hall to find his room again.

"What's the room number?" Mark asked, causing Jack to look at the number on his key.

"69." Jack simply replied, which caused him to hear a small low giggle from Mark. Jack rolled his blue orbs and sighed. "Oh yeah, real mature, Mark." Jack smiled, as they now stood right outside Jack's door.

Pushing the key into the lock, Jack then turned it and pressed the door open, before carrying his luggage inside and plopping it onto the bed. He let out a small exhale of air, as he looked around the room in awe.

"It's quite nice and tidy." Mark commented, also looking around.

"Yeah...." Jack simply said, with a small frown now starting to form on his face. "By the way... You must have had a reason for coming with me, right? It's not like I couldn't have not found this room on my own.... Oh my god, you weren't thinking...?" Jack commented, giving Mark a rise of the eyebrows. Mark stared back at him, completely lost as to what he meant. But then, as it started to register, he laughed and shook his head.

"No! Jack, that's not it at all! Don't get the wrong idea!" Mark cried, still laughing.

"Sorry... It's just..." Jack pouted, crossing his arms.

"I know, I get it... Hey, you seem disappointed." Mark teased, giving him a slight poke in the arm. Jack's eyes widened as his face went a bright shade of red.

"That's not like it at all!"

"Alright, maybe not." Mark smiled. "But still, it wasn't THAT, but I still wanted to talk to you ABOUT our whole... Situation."

"Oh, right."

"Look... Are you completely sure that this is what you want...? Now, don't think I'm trying to talk you out of this, because... I'm pretty sure I know now that this is what I want between the two of us... I just want to know if you're sure."

There was a short pause, but without hesitation, Jack smiled his widest smile as he put his arms around the back of Mark's neck and pulled him into another hug. He felt Mark's arms then wrap around his waist, and he buried his chin into Jack's shoulder.

"I have no doubt that this is what I want for us." Jack agreed. "I may not have always known it, but I felt so relieved when I told you the truth and you told me you felt the same... I know I love you, Mark, and I really want to make this work, even if it may be long distance. I could always try to visit you whenever I can."

"Hey..." Mark said, pulling away from Jack's shoulder and looking him in the face. "Like I said, one day I should come to visit you. After all, I'm not as easily homesick, and it would be nice to spend a few days in Ireland... WITHOUT offending the Irish." He joked.

"Meh, like I said before, it's probably pretty hard to offend us anyway." Jack said. Again, there was a small pause between the both of them, as they were just staring into each others eyes.

Considering the fact that both of them lived in totally different places from each other, they hadn't actually got to kiss yet during the time that they'd been together. There had obviously been the occasional "I love you's", but nothing really far beyond that point. Even if they could, they probably wouldn't have been ready to anyway.

But standing right here in the moment, completely forgetting that they had to go back down to Wade, Bob and Mandy, Jack somehow felt he was ready to just crash his lips onto his, but he wasn't entirely sure if Mark wanted to.

With a tiny sense of hesitation, Jack found himself lean forward a little, as his eyes glossed over Mark's face, from his eyes, to his soft lips. He knew he wanted to know what it was like to finally kiss them, to be able to run his hands through Mark's luscious red dyed hair, as they both just finally expressed how much they cared about each other for so long.

Jack was half expecting Mark to lean away and brush him off, as he might not have been ready to go to the next stage in their relationship. But to his surprise, Mark actually leaned forward a little in response, causing Jack to shyly grin.

It wasn't long before the hesitation broke down, and the two men felt their lips meet. It started off as a shy kiss, obvious that they were both truly and extremely nervous. But before they knew it, the two of them had closed their eyes, as the kiss grew to be more passionate, their mouths entwining with one another.

Jack had never felt such a rush in his life. Not even his first kiss, had as much meaning as this one had.

The two pulled away from each other, as the loving kiss came to an end. Jack and Mark smiled at each other like huge idiots, before pressing their foreheads together and once again closing their eyes.

"God... I can't believe it took us like... Maybe 2 years of us knowing each other to finally get to this..." Mark whispered.

"Yeah... Well, you were worth the wait." Jack replied.

"Yeah... You too. I really love you, Jack. I really, really do."

"I know, Mark. I love you too."

"Now, let's get back to the others before they get the wrong idea and think we're 69ing each other." Mark chuckled, getting a giggle from Jack in response.

"Yeah, that's probably for the best."

Author note: Yayyyy! A kiss! Finally! :3 Though, I'm sorry if the kiss kinda sucked, I feel like I'm not very good at describing kiss scenes, even if I love writing about them cause it's just so ADORABLE!! >W<
