Heading Back Home [Chapter 8]

"Ugh..." Jack let out a small moan, as he felt himself slowly starting to awake from his nap. Or at least, what he thought was a nap.

Sitting up, he sleepily looked around the room. He rose his eyebrows, noticing it seemed more brighter outside than it did when he went to sleep.

Oh shit! Did I sleep for an entire evening and night...? God fuckin' dammit I bet the others are gonna be so pissed with me...

Letting out a yawn, Jack was ready to get off the bed and see if anyone was awake already. But as he was about to, he heard what sounded like another yawn somewhere else in the room. He looked around with his bright blue eyes in confusion, wondering just who exactly was in the room with him.

Discovering the source of the sound, he found himself starting to blush a little, but he also almost started to laugh. On the other side of the bed, Mark was sleeping under the covers, wearing a plain white shirt, and his fluffy red hair was an utter mess.

Jack was caught a little off guard to find Mark sleeping right next to him. But that's when it hit him, this must have been Mark's room.

"Hey, Jack..." Mark mumbled, still sounding tired as he laid there with his eyes still closed. He must have somehow noticed Jack had woken up.

"Oh, mornin' Mark. Or, rather, top of the mornin' to ya!" He joked, getting a small chuckle from Mark in return, who finally opened his eyes. "Uh, sorry for... Falling asleep in your bed. If I knew I would have slept through the evening I would have wished you guys could have woken me up... Now I feel bad." He added.

"No, don't worry about it. You seemed like you really needed the rest anyway. So I didn't really want to wake you up. Especially since you looked pretty peaceful so..." Mark shrugged.

"O-Oh... Right." Jack answered, once again fiddling with one of his wristbands. "Well... Thanks I guess. I actually do feel a lot better." He smiled, causing Mark to grin back at him.

"Anyway, is it cool if I go take a shower before everyone wakes up? After all, I'd like to get ready as soon as possible, seeing as I just slept in my clothes..." Jack said.

"Go right ahead." Mark replied with another yawn. "Since you fell asleep up here, I actually brought your green backpack up since I thought you would have needed it." He continued, pointing at a green backpack which was sitting in the corner of the room. The Irishman beamed a thankful smile at the American.

"Thanks, Mark." He said, before finally deciding to pick himself up off of the bed. He strolled over to his bag, before kneeling down and unzipping it to shift through the contents inside. He had obviously packed extra clothes to change into, which he pulled out, along with his own towel for his shower.

"Don't worry about it." Mark replied, as he was shifting through his things. Finally, Jack stood upright and turned around to face him again, a small sheepish smile on his face.

"Anyway... Shower." Jack awkwardly pointed towards the doorway. Mark nodded, motioning that Jack could go. Leaving the room, a small frown fell on Jack's face, as he had his back turned towards Mark.

Well... That was a little awkward... He thought to himself. Well, maybe not for Mark. But more for me... I'm still trying to get used to this whole thing of "seein' him differently"... Surely, it won't be so bad, right? He didn't seem to notice my sudden act of awkwardness... And I'm sure I'll be back to my old self in no time, it's just... Again, something I need to get used to...

After getting showered and changed into his change of clothes, he went back to Mark's room and shoved his other clothes back into his green bag. He noticed that Mark wasn't in the room anymore, which must have meant he probably went downstairs to get something to eat.

Feeling quite hungry himself, Jack decided to go downstairs to see what to have for breakfast. And just as he expected, Mark was in the kitchen in a different change of clothes and slightly damp hair. He must have had a shower in one of the other bathrooms.

"Hey again, Jack." Mark said. "What do you want for breakfast?"

"Um..." Jack pouted in thought as he walked across the kitchen. "Think I might just have lucky charms again. After all, I have to leave in like, an hour. So I don't wanna take forever to prepare breakfast."

"That's a fair point." Mark agreed, opening one of the cupboards to reveal a box of lucky charms inside. After handing the box to Jack, he also gave him a bowl, a spoon and then passed him the milk. Again, Jack gave him a smile of gratitude as he poured out his cereal into the bowl.

"It's a shame you can't stay for very long." Mark admitted with a sigh, as he crossed his arms. Jack nodded in agreement.

"I know... But I can't be gone away from my channel for too long. After all, I only made enough videos for the time that I'd be gone for."

"Yeah, I know... Well, I think PAX should be coming up again pretty soon, so we can hang out then too. We'll probably have a panel like last year."

"Is Wade and Bob gonna be there?" Jack said, excited. He hadn't seen Bob and Wade for a good while, so he would be so happy to see them again in person.

"Yeah." Mark replied, confirming the answer to his question. Jack grinned.

"I haven't seen Bob and Wade in person for ages!" Jack exclaimed.

"Yeah, well, I'm sure they're looking forward to seeing you too." Mark happily answered.

"Yeah..." Jack agreed, with a small nod.

It's surprising how fast that an hour can pass by when you're really having a nice time with the people you care about. Eventually, everyone was awake while they were still talking in the kitchen, and before he knew it, Jack was back upstairs, picking up his backpack to go and leave to go to the airport to head back to Ireland.

Considering the fact that he had spent the past day worrying about his feelings for Mark, he had a pretty amazing time. It's not that he didn't enjoy hanging out with Mark anymore because of it, and it's not that he wanted things to become awkward, that wasn't it at all. It wasn't really even that Jack HATED the idea of having romantic feelings for Mark. It's just...

When things like that happen, what's the first thing you think of? You probably think of how important your friendship is to you, right? Okay, let's say that Mark did accept his feelings and felt the same way back... What if... Now, this wouldn't necessarily happen but... What if they had a disagreement about something, argued about something to the point of where it caused them to split up. It would ruin their lives, their friendships and not only that but both their fanbases would probably be torn apart too. One side would always be arguing with the other, about whose fault it was on either side, even if it was nothing to do with them.

Not all fans were like that. Some were willing to support and respect either of them, no matter what happened. But there would definitely be those kind of fans that would just be sitting there waiting for the drama to happen in the comments of Youtube.

After picking up his bag, and making sure he had everything in it, he headed downstairs to be greeted by the others. Again, Ryan and Matt decided they were going to stay at the house, while Mark, Ken and Felix went with Jack to the airport.

With a huge smile on his face, Jack gave Matt and Ryan a hug, telling them how much fun he had had with them, and that he was looking forward to seeing them again whenever he could. With that, he exited the house out the front door along with the others and they all hopped into the car to head to the airport.

Soon enough after they got there, Jack's flight back was ready and he had to leave his group of friends. As much as he loved the fact that he got to go home, it was always this part that broke his heart the most. Even if it wasn't goodbye forever. They could still chat and see each other on Skype and play video games together. But even so, it was still quite a sad experience every time they ended up back here.

"I had a lot of fun with you guys..." Jack muttered, giving each of them a hug.

"We had a lot of fun with you too, Jack." Ken said, when the both of them shared a hug.

Finally, he had given a hug to each of them and had to part from them, before his flight left without him. He waved at the three of them, before walking off to get on the plane. Just as he was about to board, he looked over his shoulder one last time, seeing each of them staring after him, giving him another wave. He smiled back in return, before finally turning around and getting ready for his long flight back to Ireland...
