"You're unbelievable!"

"Yeah? Well you're being unreasonable!"

I heard a door slam and I looked up from the book I was reading.

"What was that about?" I asked Caroline. She looked up from her phone and shrugged.

"Beats me. Michael and Fae fight all the time."

"Oh. Do you know why?" Im not sure as to why I was curious, I guess my personality is nosy.

"Well, we all treat each other as family, and what family doesn't fight? We all have our disagreements here and there, it's no big deal" she explained. I nodded.

I set my book down and got up. I was bored so I went into the living room in search of something to do. I found a deck of cards and decided if I was stuck in this house, I should have some fun.

I asked everyone if they wanted to gamble a little bit, no harm. Only Zach, Grayson, Haley, and connor wanted to play.

The first game we decided on was Texas holdums(is that how you spell it?) Which is completely fine with me. I actually have a really good poker face.

So how I usually play is everyone puts $5 into the pot, so whoever wins gets the $25 in this case.

I was dealer first so after everyone put their 2 chips in, I burned a card and flipped over the first 3 cards.

Ace of diamonds
8 of cloves
Jack of hearts

I then looked at my own cards.

Ace of hearts and 9 of spaids.

I looked over at connor who was next to me.

"Your call"

He checked and so did everyone else. When it got to me, I shrugged and put in a chip. That really got the pot going. On the next card, I put in 2 chips, and on the last card, I put in 4 which got everyone to fold.

"Dang it, I would've won" Zach whined. I laughed and took the chips from the middle of the table, and stacked them in front of me.

Soon, it was only Grayson and I left. I had 2 pair so I played how I did the last 3 rounds. And I ended up winning the $25.

"Rigged" is all Grayson said before leaving.  I just shook my head, smiling. My mom taught me how to play cards;we would even have our own game nights sometimes.

I felt tears coming on so I decided to stop thinking about her.

I decided to take a walk to help clear my mind for a bit. I know im supposed to have someone with me but I honestly couldn't care less. I needed some alone time and not while being cooped up in this house.

I went into my room and grabbed a sweatshirt since it's freezing outside. I would've worn a coat but I don't like them.  They're too heavy and I can barely move in them and it's annoying. I also threw on some boots and threw my hood over my head.

I walked out into the living room, which suprisingly didn't have anyone in it. I went outside and sighed, being able to see my breath from the cold air.

I was a little ways into the woods when I heard a twig snap.

Oh no

I decided to just keep heading forward, hoping it was just an animal or something. I really shouldn't have thought that. I gasped as I felt myself flying, and soon feeling myself get slammed against something hard, probably a tree.

I let out a quiet whimper as I looked up. And there stood joey.

"Is the little puppy lost again? You're quite a bit away from you're home." He pouted.

"No, actually" I gritted my teeth . This guy doesn't know when to leave me alone.
"Im on a walk"

"A walk without a leash? Where's your owner, pup?" He laughed as he looked at me head to toe. Does this guy not know when to stop?

"Listen pal, I'll be generous and let you leave, if you go now. You're getting on my nerves and I really don't want to let my angry side come out. So, if you want to leave without any harm, now's your chance." He looked at me before busting out laughing.

"In case youve forgotten," he smirked. "Im a vampire. And you? Well you're nothing right now."

Ive had enough, so I decided to wipe the smirk right of his face. I stalk right up to him and punch in the nose. Hard.

His eyes darken and next thing I know, im back up against the tree. I could feel his breath against my neck  and I struggled to get sway from him, but his grip just tightened more.

"You shouldn't have done that" he growled in my ear, and ran his fangs all over.

It was a the moment I decided to scream. And I screamed bloody murder. Joey staggered away from me, giving me just enough space to slip away, but not before kicking hin in the, uh, the spot.

I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life. I looked behind me to make sure he wasn't running after me, and then I ran into something, making me fall on my but on the ground.

I look up and see connor, and he did not look happy. I looked behind hin to see the rest of the pack, thank the gods.

I didnt care if they were mad at me for leaving, but I was sure happy to see them.

"Where were you?" Connor yelled. I never got the chance to actually talk to him, but now he's yelling at me.

"You could've gotten hurt!"

It suddenly dawned on me. I could've died. I could've been seriously injured , or even taken and tortured.

Tears filled my eyes as I look back at him.
"Im sor-" my voice cracked and a tear made it's way down my face.

Connors eyes softened and he squated down to be eye level with me.

"Hey, it's okay. We won't hurt you, you know that" i nodded and threw myself into his arms and began sobbing. I mustve caught him off guard because he fell backward a bit, before wrapping his arms around me also.

"What happened A?" Aiden said softly.

"Jo-ey h-he -"

"Hey, stop for now, okay? Lets get home and warmed up first, yeah?" I nodded and wiped my face on my sleeve.

Jackson offered me a light back ride, and I was completely exhausted and cold so I agreed and got on his back. I placed my arms loosely around his neck and my legs around his waist, also placing my head on his shoulder, covering my eyes.

Once we got home, I changed into some warm sweatpants and a really soft sweater. Then, Caroline wrapped a blanket around me and aiden brought in some hot chocolate.

"Can you tell us what happened, Aaron?" Jackson asked softly.

I looked up and nodded, then began explaining.

"I decided to take a walk to clear my head because I was thinking some sad thoughts, and I know I should've asked. But if I did, you would've made someone come with me and I really wanted to be alone. Well so I was walking, right? And I hear a twig snap from somewhere but I just hoped it was an animal. Well next thing I know im slammed against a tree and joey was there." I took a deep breath.
"He got on my nerves and I ended up punching him in the nose. He didn't like that and he pushed me up against a tree again and" I gulped.

"I could feel his fangs on my neck and I was so scared. I was scared he would kill me, or kidnap me, or something. And I screamed and kicked him in the, well, you should know, and ran. Thats when I ran into you" I finished.

"Yeah, I heard you scream, that's how we knew what direction you were and how close you were." Grayson said.

"You know we wouldn't have let joey hurt or take you. We wouldve found you before he did anything." Hailey said.

"Oh, and please tell one of us you're leaving, okay? I want someone to go with you but if you want to be alone, we can walk a little behind you so we can keep you safe, yeah? You nearly gave us a heart attack when we couldn't find you. Don't do it again, okay?"jackson ordered. I nodded and snuggled into the blanket.

Fae sighed. "We'll let you relax now, okay? I know it was quite scary, which is why we won't punish you because we think you've learned your lesson. Goodnight" she patted my leg and they left.

I sighed, falling back on my pillow and closing my eyes.
