6 || thank Jason for this
Nova
__________
"Babe" I let out as Aubrey's body had been straddled over me, kissing on my neck, "I gotta go." Aubrey didn't stop, "do you?" she asked in between kisses. I nodded "mhm" I mumbled.
My parents, who got divorced at the end of my junior year of high school, were hoping to get remarried. They wanted me to meet them at Basario Cafe, which was maybe two streets or so away from Norwood. I guess they're stuck between a little court wedding and a regular one. They're wondering if all the wedding hype for the second time around is worth it.
My phone began ringing. "Saved my the cell" Aubrey groaned with an eye roll, finally getting up off of me. I grinned wide at my wife, "it's probably just my mom seeing how far I am." Aubrey lazily looked at me as I answered, then perked up half way like some sort of dog. "I have an idea!" she exclaimed.
"Is that Aubrey?" My mom asked me, "tell Mrs 'pretty girl' that mommy in law said hello." Aubrey smiled as she listened, "morning Mrs Milan!"
"I think your father and I will come to you instead" my mother informed me. "You're all the way over there in Tallahassee now, it makes no sense to make you come out here." Aubrey made a happy gesture, one that I couldn't really describe beyond both arms going into the air with her hands balled in fists and her smile real wide.
"Alright" I said, "that works. See you soon."
"I have an idea" Aubrey blurted as soon as I hung up. I nodded, telling her I was all ears. "We're gonna buy a helicopter." I cocked an eyebrow, "what?"
"So that when we need to travel, we can do it fast. No more three hour drives to Orlando" Aubrey insisted. "I just wanna spend more time with you Nova." I couldn't help but blush, I could feel my face getting warm. Aubrey's index finger was in a hooked position as she ran it along my jawline. "Look at that smile" she said in a low seductive tone. She stopped moving her finger up and down and instead began circulating it around my beauty mark, which was on my cheek.
"You're so pretty" Aubrey said, as I looked at her. She had almond shaped eyes, which I never actually noticed. The bridge of her nose was thin, her head was like a baseball home plate kind of shape, but not entirely. She had very minimal eye-bags under her eyes. Her cheeks were flushed, as always, and her hair was long. But it wasn't like, Hailey long. I previously had long hair, which grew back after I gave myself a bob during my senior year, but I cut it again. My hair is now like, at my armpits when curly. When straightened, my hair is at my ribs.
"Says you" I finally said back in response to Aubrey's "you're so pretty." She flashed a smile, showing her straight, perfectly built teeth. She must've had braces before. Or, maybe, she just had good genes. Seeing the rest of her, I wouldn't be shocked to hear that.
Nick
__________
"Nick" Lewis said, "I'm no expert, but I don't think you drinking with medication is a good idea. I nodded in agreement, "good thing I'm not drinking."
"So only we are?" Rico asked. He had a whole thing of facial hair, between a mustache and beard, so he looked real grownup in comparison to last school year. I nodded, "think of it as a guys night out with that one responsible friend."
"And a way to make up for my weirdness as of late" I continued. Jason grabbed the bottle without another thought, "man I don't know about y'all" he said as he placed the bottle on the counter and took off his black and white flannel jacket that he'd been wearing, "but I'm digging in."
Lewis scoffed, "we know, Mr liver issues."
"Hey" I said as I looked at Jason, "something looks different. Jason chuckled, "the half sleeve tattoo I got" he said, "that ring a bell?" I shook my head.
"No" I said sarcastically, "you look a little more toned."
"I could never get a tattoo" Rico voiced, "I just couldn't do that to myself."
Lewis looked at Rico funny, "man, that shit does not hurt. Shading stings a little bit I'll admit, but trust you'll be good man."
Rico, who was wearing a blue Nike sweater that only had the symbol on it, shook his head. "Not even about the pain" he replied. "I just, I don't get the point of tattoos. If I was supposed to have tattoos, I'd be born with them. I came this way for a reason."
I chuckled, "okay Rico" I voiced, "I think you definitely need to drink." Rico shook his head with a big smile on his face, "I think you're right."
Lewis sighed and stood up before making his way to where Jason was. I noticed that Rico seemed short in comparison to Jason, Lewis, and I who all stood at a healthy 6'2, 6'3 ish, but he actually wasn't all that short in general speaking terms. Because when he's around Nova and Aubrey, who are like 5'3 and 5'5, or even May, who's 5'4 I think, he looks huge. He must be like 5'10 or so. He was taller than Zach last school year, but now Zach's kind of taller than him.
"Woah" Lewis said, leaning over the counter. "This shits strong." Jason started laughing in this annoying high pitched manner. Almost like he was already fucking drunk. I could feel butterflies of fear and regret filling in my stomach.
"You know" I said as I got up off the couch and made my way to the counter. "A wise man once said that the best conversations are had when drunk."
Lewis took another lengthy sip. "I've got a lot to get off my chest" he admitted. I nodded, "okay. Shoot."
Brynn
__________
"I used the same razor that May used earlier in the day one time" I heard Lewis say. I winced my face in disgust. "Nasty I know" Lewis quickly followed, "but I had no choice. All the stores were closed due to hurricane clean up." I readjusted myself on my bed so that I could get comfortable. I knew that this was about to be a long conversation.
***
I nearly fell asleep, my face falling off of my hand every now and then when my eyes shot wide open at the mention of the word kill. It sounded like it was Lewis' turn to speak again.
"No way bro!" A very clearly drunk Jason replied, "you and May killed that Cassidy chick?!" I went wide eyed at the words I had just heard. I sat up, rubbing my eyes as the conversation went on.
"Technically," Lewis admitted, "but it wasn't us. May hired her cousin's boyfriend, his name is Makaveli. He's like a notorious gang member or something."
I breathed lightly before smiling and throwing my entire body off the bed. "Sorry, Lewis" I sarcastically said, though he obviously couldn't hear me. "But, this had to be done. You can thank Jason for this."
