District of Columbia. The capital of the United States of America. Informally known as Washington D.C. or just D.C.
We have stopped here to eat at Cracker Barrel. Man I love this place. Ria giggles from her baby seat as Savannah and I chow down. It felt really good to eat food that did not come from a can or McDonald's.
When we are done I am very full. I look down a my body. I guess I'm not really THAT fat. I could still lose a few extra pounds though.......
"Ready to go?", Savvy asks smiling. I give her thumbs up and lift Ria out of the high chair. I give her to Savannah and we head back to the car.
I drive on the right course, but after a while I turn the opposite direction of the way I was supposed to be turning.
"What the hell are you doing, Peaches?", Savvy asks calmly. I don't reply. I just smile and keep driving.
Throughout the ride Savvy kept yelling at me that I was going the wrong way. I ignored her. This made her pissed. She was telling me off, but she stopped once she realized we were approaching the Westin Hotel.
"Surprise!", I shout smiling.
Savannah stares wide eyed at the huge building.
"Oh my gosh, Peaches. I take back everything I said about thirty seconds ago."
"That's alright I wasn't listening anyway.", I reply. She punches my arm.
I park the car and we get out to check in to the hotel. Savannah takes Ria and wheels over to the waiting area with all the couches. A lot nicer than the hospital waiting room.
"Hi," I say to the man at the desk using my best I-am-a-mature-adult voice, "I would like to check into a room please."
"Sure thing,", he says in an oddly feminine voice, "I'm just going to need to see your I.D."
"No problem." I pull my identification card from wallet and hand it to the man. He looks at it.
"Georgia, huh. From way south of here, eh?", he comments.
"Yeah, it has been a long drive." I sigh louder than I mean to. I look at the man with an apologetic expression. He smiles and waves it off.
"What kind of room would you like m'am?", he asks.
"The most luxurious one you have, sir.", I think we deserve it for sleeping in a Prius.
"That's a lovely family you've got there.", he says. Gesturing to Savannah and Ria.
"Thank you, sir.", I smile. I love people like this. Who are just nice by their nature.
I pay him and take the key to a room called "The Grand Suite". This should be good. I wheeled Savannah and Ria into the elevator and to the twenty-third floor and down the hall to room two three oh four.
The room had double doors instead of the standard single door entrance of its neighbors. I used the room key to open them.
When we stepped inside the room, I stopped in amazement. To my right was a kitchen nook complete with top of the line stainless steel appliances. To my left was a bathroom. When I stepped in I found that there were three separate rooms that made up the bathroom. The first had a plush love seat and a vanity. The next room held a sink and a small shower. The last room was a small room that held the latrine, the head, the golden thrown, the potty. It was very nice for a toilet.
We walked out of the bathroom and went into the living room. It was huge. With a couch, a love seat, and a reclining chair. There was a large television that looked about ninety inches.
Straight ahead from the living room was a balcony. I stepped out into it and looked down. Woah. I'd never realized how high up twenty-three floors is.
I was getting a bit lightheaded so instead of looking down I looked out. There was a beautiful view of the nations capital. I could even see a bit of the White House! Maybe we'd take a tour of it if it's not too expensive.
I walked back into the room and closed the sliding doors. In the time that I had been on the balcony admiring the historic grace of Washington D.C., Savannah had already situated herself on the couch with Ria and the two of them were channel surfing. I laughed.
"Well, I guess someone is getting pretty cozy.", I said with a smirk. Savannah looked up at me with a smirk of her own.
"What's the point of your amazing girlfriend buying a luxury hotel room if you don't get cozy?"
I laughed and shook my head. They had stopped at the living room, but I had one ore room to explore. The bed room.
I opened the door and was shocked to see that it was only a little smaller than the living room itself. There was a king sized bed. I was feeling a little childish so I ran and jumped on it. Memory foam. Nice.
There was a television the same size as the living room's and a work desk. There was a love seat with a coffee table in front.
The bedroom had its own separate bathroom so I got off of the bed and went in. There was a jacuzzi bath tub with a television screen on the wall. Watching TV while you're bathing? Why? Well I had never led a luxury life style so I guess I can't understand. I turned around and saw a huge shower. There was a seat (thank goodness because if Savvy felt like taking a shower and there was no seat......). There was three shower heads. One was up top and it was stationary. Another was one of those sprayer things that you take off of the hook. The third was directly above head. It was shaped like a square and it rained right down on you. I guess you use it to wash your hair or something.
The sink was a large counter with two sinks set into it. There was a blowdryer on a hook beside the sink. The best thing was those nice little complimentary hotel bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion.
I stepped out of the bathroom and looked around the bedroom again. This room itself could be the luxury suite.
................................................................
"Are you happy?", Savannah asked. We were in bed. All the lights were off and Ria had had her bottle and was fast asleep in her playpen.
"Of course," I responded with a smile, "I'm with you, aren't I?" She laughed a bit and found my hand under the covers. She held in hers.
"How much did this room cost, Peaches?", she whispered.
"All of our money." I answered.
"Serena!", she whisper yelled. I laughed.
"I'm only joking. It's about five hundred a night." Now that was true. Pricey, pricey.
"That's still a lot of money.", she says.
"Do you like the room?", I ask her.
"Yeah. I love it, bu-", I cut her off by putting my finger to her lips.
"Then it was worth the money."
