Questions

"I've heard Azzel, Kaiden, and Silvanus talked about you, but..." she stops to raise her eyes and look at him directly. Camille realizes that indeed she's lucky to be able to experience something so magical, like having him so close. Her violet eyes gaze at the moon as he rests on the sofa. The cool breeze of a hot night makes its way in through the sliding door. Camille breathes in the sweet scent of lavender.

"To be honest, I feel the same way about your presence here." The god comforts her with a friendly tone. "I am certain Silvanus made sure to let you how selfish and stubborn I am or how terrifying and temperamental I can be. Do you believe him, Camille?" He asks, trying to measure the depths of her resolution for him.

Camille meditates on the question for a moment. From all the information she's gathered and her personal judgment, she can see how his servant may hold back because of fear or maybe for loyalty. Although she hesitates to speak honestly, deep down, she can't ignore the fact that Axl is a god, and she has seen glimpses of his power. "You may be a god, you may be powerful, but I don't believe you are selfish." Camille's eyes clearly express the loneliness and pain she feels, which reflects his own. "I do admit, the fact that you can open the ocean, summon the Kraken and make the ground tremble is terrifying, but your kingdom is a beautiful place full of life. You can't be bad." She explains cautiously. Although he's already aware of her thoughts, Axl is still surprised to hear her actual words.

"So, if I decide to keep you here, will you consider it a selfish act?" Axl attempts to distract her from seeing the black haze that follows her everywhere she goes. The shadows she fears so much seem to be only visible to him, which is also a sign that someone more powerful is trying to get a hold of her. "Do you?" He insists with seriousness.

As a god, Axl can see the faded marks on her body, old ones and new ones, even without a word coming out of her mouth. He can hear her screams, her pleading cries. In her memories, he can see her crying face, her terrified expression when the darkness takes over. Although she doesn't belong in this place, it's better than to dump her into a world she'll be left to the merciless hands of her own people. Axl takes a deep breath. "No." Camille tries her best to fulfill his expectation, she glues her eyes to his, her plump lips slightly quivering like she's cold, but she's not. She's merely afraid of ruining this incredible encounter.

"I would consider it an act of mercy, of pity even because I have nowhere else to go, and you probably know that," Camille admits deliberately. "Azzel said that you brought me here. Why?" Her eyes narrowed as she tries to sound composed under his intense gaze.

Axl turns to the window again, fighting his animal instincts to have all kinds of women do as he pleases. But to have Camille looking at him with invisible tears in her eyes, the only thing that he can think of is to ease the pain she's gone through; he can't help but to want to monopolize her mind, make her stop thinking about someone else that makes her heart tremble. Realizing that he might be falling for the great gods' tricks, Axl becomes irritated with the troubling emotions Camille is stirring in his heart. "Azzel is wrong," he clarifies while struggling with his rising temper. Raising his eyes to the peaceful moon to remind himself that someone is watching. "This is not something I decided, nor you," he accepts the fact that he doesn't have such power to choose who comes to this world. "But looking at you, I do see the reason, if that is indeed the reason you were chosen," Axl finally finds a way to compose himself and soften up his tone with her.

The confession only baffles Camille's tired brain. More questions arise, and the uncertainty of her fate doesn't let her enjoy the extraordinary experience it is to be here, standing before him. "Chosen... For what?" Camille asks nervously, trying to ignore the uneasiness crawling up in her stomach. Axl lowers his gaze to pierce hers, immediately making her fall for the perfect smoldering expression.

"Well..." the handsome "man" starts to say but tries his best to avoid an honest answer. The real reason she's facing him now. A reason that could destroy her more if she's stays attached to her past life. Taking a step closer towards her, Axl traps himself in the concerned look of her eyes. Axl ponders on the sensibility he's experiencing with this girl, just by looking at her delicate glow under the moonlight, her tender eyes trying to look secure of herself. Still, she can't hide her inner conflict. "As someone with the privilege to come into this world, the great gods expect gratitude without questions, Camille. If I were you, I would express my gratitude and enjoy the opportunity they have given you." Axl finds himself building up excuses, not to mention something as important as her fate in this world.

Camille gazes into his eyes with profound desperation. It's clear for Axl that even when she loves the light, her sky will turn gray once she starts facing the upcoming war. He, as the god of storms and darkness, can see how he's of no help to her freedom, not unless he makes a choice as well.

"The light is no longer enough for both of us. Perhaps you should speak up clearly when the time comes, Camille," Axl says as he turns to the moon, where his friend Luna tries to soothe his temper.

"I'm grateful, really grateful, but..." looking at the effort he's putting up to answer her question. Camille can't help to imagine the worst. Having enough imagination and myths from Earth, her brain starts scrambling for options. Maybe to be a sacrifice? Maybe to sell her soul in exchange for something? The ideas make sense in a way, and her eyes shine with a terrifying alert. Her lips start to quiver as she struggles to stay calm and not fall to any conclusions.

Maybe, in the end, she'll die? Her heart shudders at the possibility. After all, she has never actually thought of that option. Camille has never thought about giving up her life.

"Forget that!" The god orders with a demanding tone that makes Camille flinch in shock. "You are not here to die..." he clarifies under his breath. Being able to see through her eyes, read her mind, and feel her pain. Axl feels frustrated by how little Camille thinks of her own life. Then again, he knows what her life on Earth has been for her.

"You..." she tries to talk, but the disbelief to find out that her thoughts aren't safe from him cuts her off. To realize that all the conflicting conversations she has in her mind, he knows about.

"You are not in this place to die, Camille," he whispers, trying to hide his amusement at her reactions. Axl sucks in a deep breath. His eyes turn sweet and gentle, which is a dangerous spell for Camille. His face looks unattainable to her bare hands. His attractive features that not even dreaming can make up such perfect and astonishing traits. Little by little, Camille finally believes she's in front of the real god. She smiles shyly, recognizing that he probably knows how delighted she is with him. Axl smiles, affirming her thoughts.

"Then, why?" She insists, at this moment, Axl does regret not making her fall asleep when he thought of the idea, but he can't turn back now. Her big purple eyes gaze at him with urgency. Captivated by the sound of her name in his reassuring tone. Camille clenches her fists, forcing her mind to focus on the situation. She can feel how his tactics can actually make her feelings towards Adam wave. Axl tilts his head to the side, letting his hair swing from one side to the other, gorgeously uncovering his eyes.

"What can I do here?" She asks in a low, trembling whisper.

Axl knows she'll find out the truth at any moment. Especially if she keeps going around the sanctuary without him knowing about it. There's also a dark stain following her, something he needs to investigate. Axl considers the possibilities of evil spirits waiting to harm the innocence and good she can't hide. Even in his dominions, he can't control a strong force as the evil and darkness controlled by a supreme god. Their eyes connect in a profound sense of attachment where they are like two of the brightest aquamarine diamonds Camille has ever seen. They remind her of Blue Water Lake, just like the lake reflects the skies on a sunny day, his eyes shine with the same light of mystery.

"Survive," the God of Water searches for a way to distract her from knowing the truth, not until he finds out why she's been chosen. Camille can hide the surprise by hearing him say it out loud. "Besides, there is no other place for you to go." Axl pauses to think for a quick second if that's appropriate for him to say. Camille freezes for a moment. She knows that but hearing it from a god, someone who knows everything in depth, it's more hurtful than she ever thought to be. Her violet eyes decay hopelessly, but she still manages to smile sorely. Deep down, she knows it's the truth. "Perchance, I am wrong..." he adds, hoping to light up her eyes again.

"You are here. And that means you have something to look for in here." Axl tries to make up for his slip. Camille raises her eyes to look right at him again. Enchanted by the glint of peaceful energy that stands out as such a magnificent being. Not really confident if it's his power or only his nature.

"Will you stay and find out your mission?" he asks but stiffens to realize the question has slipped his mouth without realizing it. Waiting for the girl to jump out crying or even try to hurt herself because she doesn't want to because she misses her boyfriend and her family but to the contrary. For the first time in so long, Camille believes she's in the world for something greater than suffering. She has endured a strict upbringing for a reason, and while looking at Axl's crystal blue eyes, she believes to have a purpose in life. An innocent smile makes a way out of her timid face.

"Yes," she answers and bows to him in reverence. Axl smiles with pleasure at her reaction.

Axl takes a step forward, reaching his hand out. Camille hesitates for a second but takes her body fills up with warmth and tranquility at his touch. Pulling a smile out of her again, as, for Axl, he knows this might be a big mistake. He hasn't cared for cordialities for centuries.

"The pain inside a soul can kill you slowly..." Axl comments with caution. Still disturbed to see clearly the hands of a beast all over her body. "Try let it out once," he suggests, and with this, Camille knows that there's nothing she can hide from him. After all, he's a supreme being, and without realizing it, she already belongs to him.

"The pain in my soul it's deeper and stronger. It's difficult to let out," Camille explains with a sore smile that touches his heart in a way that alerts him.
