Watching the sparkly surface of the giant lake, Camille sits on an extravagant assortment Luna has prepared for her. She wants to make sure that Camille feels at home, and for that, the goddess needs to keep a close eye on everyone in the sanctuary. Especially someone that can attempt to ruin Axl's chances of finding his freedom. The hundreds of mer-fairies dance in the enchanting rainbow at the bottom of the waterfall. The fresh scent of Peonies, Cotton, and Chamomile soothe Camille's unsettle heart.
The sky is blue and bright, the wind blows delicately while the flamingos sunbathe in the middle of the lake. A vast field of lavender spreads in the background makes it a fascinating sight that Camille could enjoy, only if she could ignore Ceres's intense eyes watching her from a distance. The Goddess of the Moon has decided to protect Camille's spirit from anything or anyone that can possibly bring her any harm, so does Axl. Unable to focus on his mission to find the Book of Life, Axl has sent Kaiden to serve and watch Camille while he's gone. The angel appears from the center of an oak tree where a secret portal hides.
"What are you doing here?" Ceres questions the servant as soon as he settles beside her. Yama stands next to Kaiden, quietly guarding the women as they enjoy their time.
"It appears that his majesty is more relaxed if I stay with here." Kaiden answers without concern. He closes his eyes while his energy spreads around the sanctuary to ensure no one unwanted can cross the safety barrier. Camille relaxes as she notices Kaiden's presence.
"Well, that hurts a little." Yama crosses his arms over his chest. Kaiden smiles but says nothing.
"Are they Blazers?" Camille asks, fascinated by four stunning women lying on the other side of the lake. Although it's uncomfortable for her to see their provocative body in full display as they play with each other—Ceres grunts in disgust at their presence.
"If the Blazers hear that, they would be truly offended," she comments with a cold tone that sends a chill through Camille's spine. Closing her eyes to hide a secret aberrance for the nymphs.
"Those are nymphs," Luna informs with vibrant enthusiasm.
"You mean..." Camille remembers the myths about the so-called nymphs from fantasy and historical stories. If anything is real, they're maidens that serve as a distraction to men.
"Or the gods." Ceres clarifies her unspoken thought. Camille glances at them with embarrassment. "The Blazers are a gift from the gods... but these are only toys for Axl's entertainment." She peers Camille's back. Ceres has become alert by Axl's sudden interest in protecting Camille from discovering the truth about her presence in this world. He has never bothered to do it for anyone else before her. Although she's aware of Camille's past life, the Goddess of Nature is riled up by the importance the God of Water is giving her. Kaiden opens his eyes as he senses the darkness stirring up in the goddess's energy.
A handful of swans take to the sky as the wind carries the clouds above the lake, Camille's mind travels back to Primavera Town, to Blue Water Lake, where the sun used to shine, but her sadness could never disappear. Her eyes fixed on the water, where she could spend endless days watching the surface dance with the breeze of Spring — the smell of wet grass after the rain. For many years, Camille wanted to escape her reality and find a place where Steve couldn't find her, where Adam could always be. "A gift from God." She whispers to herself.
The memories of Adam and Primavera Town make her heart heavy and sad. It's unbearable to know that she's so far away and has no idea if she will ever go back. Camille wants to see her mother, to explain why she couldn't make it to Paige's house. To reassure Adam that she's in a better place. Luna watches how the need to cry spreads slowly in Camille's chest. A low contraction in her heart pressures her enough to knocks her out of breath. "I am sorry," Luna can see how guilty Camille feels for not be able to say a proper goodbye to her loved one.
But, after seeing Axl faltering to ease her worries, the Goddess of the Moon knows that Camille has the potential to change his destiny and hers. "I know you miss them," Luna's tone takes her by surprise. Although she's aware that they can see and hear her thoughts, the fact that they know more than she wants to share starts to terrify her. Luna smiles as she sees the desperation growing in her violet eyes. "It does not matter what we see. What matters the most is what you feel." She soothes her worries. Camille falls in the spell of Luna's gray eyes; her tenderness and calming energy give her soul the comfort she has graved for so long.
Taking a deep breath through her nose to calm the pain and yearn to see Adam, to take his hand, the medicine she needs to ease her broken heart and ask for forgiveness. Camille smiles as she turns to the lake. "I miss them." She admits, even if she's comfortable enough to tell Luna about Adam. Still, she glances at Ceres with the corner of her eye and exhales. She can sense how the goddess evaluates every detail about her. Like the rest who have met Camille, Ceres can't do anything but wonder what the great gods are planning with her?
"Do you wish to go back?" Luna asks a question that tenses everyone around them. Camille's face becomes expressionless. Remembering the monster, she believed to be her father abused her without compassion, almost killed her. He took her innocence, breaking her soul every chance he got, stepped on her dignity. Camille begins to understand that the only reason she wants to go back to Primavera Town is to break free from those attachments.
"No. I don't want to go back." She answers flatly. Although her heart trembles with guilt at the thought of wanting to stay here where she'll never get a chance to see her brother Jordan or Adam again. Camille knows that she's selfishly choosing to sacrifice herself for their happiness. Without her, Adam can find someone who doesn't have baggage like hers. Her mother can focus on Jordan and make sure he's like turns out better than hers. Even if she misses them, Camille has realized that staying here would free Adam from her if she wants to see them.
"Well, that is great!" An overly excited grin spreads across Luna's face to see that Camille starts to find reasoning to stay here. Kaiden suppresses his satisfaction to see her determination.
"You are not curious about the others, then?" Ceres shoots her bait. Realizing that Luna's ability to convince Axl of her beliefs will work in Camille's favor. Taking her chances by planting the seed of fear in her innocent heart will give her time to find a way to convince her to go back to her world. Her dark intentions alert Kaiden. Although he says nothing, he has to be ready for a possible face-off between the Golden Gods.
Ceres is someone unavoidable as part of the Golden Gods of Balance. She's a silent threat that waits patiently for her chance to strike, and going against her may end up breaking the balance and harmony in the universe, which is a risk Axl is not willing to take. The only thing Yama, Axl, and Paloma, the Goddess of Wind, can now be on guard and prepared.
Camille turns to the fearless goddess. She has caught her attention, which is a warning to everyone that has decided to side with her. Ceres caresses a giant tiger while measuring Camille's interest in finding out the meaning behind her words. Although she's new and confused about almost everything in this world, Camille can still sense the tension between the gods. She takes a sip of her tea nervously. "Others?" Camille whispers but stops as soon as she notices Kaiden opening his eyes. "Other what?" She still wants to know, but the sight of the terrifying tiger makes her doubtful. Ceres flashes a prideful grin that alerts the others.
"Do not be alarmed. Cosmo is a gentle creature," Luna tells her as her hand reaches out to pet the enormous tiger. Camille smiles nervously at the animal.
"Do you believe to be the only one here?" Ceres pushes for more, not caring that Kaiden is itching to take action if she keeps persuading to confuse Camille. Although the gods can't manipulate Camille's purity. She's lost in a world where she's an outcast, hesitating for a quick moment while Ceres keeps on petting Cosmo. The goddess turns to Kaiden and smirks with pleasure at Camille's naivety. "Other human girls, of course..." Ceres adds nonchalantly. Camille's eyes widen in surprise at the new information.
"You mean other girls are here?" Camille falls into Ceres's trap.
"You are the only one here. Unfortunately, Yama burned the girl that was sent to him." Ceres clarifies, adding more intrigue. Camille's eyes widen in shock and turn to Yama, who's uncomfortably standing right next to Kaiden. Although his eyes are invisible, his smile and attitude are friendly enough to trust him. Ignoring that the closer he is, the hotter it gets, Yama looks pretty normal in a strange way.
"For you?" Camille asks, waiting for the God of Fire to explain what Ceres is saying.
"That is not true. Elena is in my castle." Yama tenses up as Kaiden gazes at him with warning eyes. He struggles, hoping not to disrespect Axl, not because of fear but for loyalty.
"In your castle?" Camille wonders with fascination, imagining many more castles with the same magical gardens and animals.
"Yes. I live in the Fire Region, but as you can imagine, it is the contrary of this place." Yama explains.
"It is hell in there, too bad for Elena. You left her alone." Ceres comments with a mischievous smirk playing in her tone.
"Oh, I know. How about I take you to my castle." Luna jumps in to avoid a confrontation between Kaiden and the Goddess of Nature. Camille is taken by surprise by Luna's sudden invitation. She looks at Kaiden for guidance. Realizing that the best way to stop Ceres from disturbing Camille's mind is for her to stay away from the goddess. He nods in agreement, which makes Luna beam with excitement.
"Where do you live?" Camille turns to Luna, feeling the same excitement. They share a pleasant smile.
"I live up there." Camille looks up at the sky to see the faint trace of the giant moon.
"No way..." she breathes out while she meditates on the incredible chance she has to see the moon up close.
