Preposition
Finally, tasting the tenderness of her lips, Axl lets himself feel the desire in his heart. The fervor of her smooth skin and the exquisite texture of the innocence preserves in her soul. Her warmth and hesitation make him lose himself in the deep need to save her. To protect her and give her the confidence she needs. Unaware of his own actions, Axl traps his arms around Camille's flustered body, gently biting and tasting her trembling lips while she tries to hold back. But, in the end, she can't. She can't deny the explosive attraction awakening in the pit of her stomach. To have Axl's strong arms holding her with such security is something she has never experienced before. Camille can't help but melt as he bites her lips, passionately making way for his tongue to invade her mouth as his arms hold her steady. Adrenaline spreads wildly all over every nerve, from deep in her core to the depths of her brain. A wild awakening kiss that doesn't compare to the innocent kisses she shared with Adam.
Camille freezes with the abrupt realization, immediately understanding the difference between this sudden advance and the precious moment she had with Adam. Halting in disbelief as the god pulls away from her. Looking at his intense eyes, slightly frowning while he analyzes her thoughts. "I'm an offering..." she whispers to herself, trying to keep her head clear and catch her breath. She lowers her face to avoid his stern look. She has fallen into his trap, to the point of forgetting about Adam's love, a love so pure and genuine. He cherished her with every touch, every kiss, every moment because he loved her. But this man. This man is different. He's intense and possessive, aggressive, but gentle at the same time. Manipulative but thoughtful, a complicated being to understand, someone beyond Adam's level and beyond her capabilities to endure his desires to be absolute.
"I'm an offering for this," Camille manages to push through the lump gathering in her throat. Axl says nothing, but his eyes turn icy cold, just like his mother's. He watches her stumble as he releases her, struggling to cover her naked body. Axl realizes that her presence is starting to affect him in a way that will give him a disadvantage. He takes a deep breath to calm the frustration his mother's visit has caused. Axl realizes that he's letting his guard down, and now, through water, he can feel and see her at all times.
"Whatever she may say only becomes the truth if you believe it." He sighs loudly and walks back to the room, shaking his head to forget the intensity of his desire—the unbelievable connection to her soul makes him unable to see his mother's action. Axl glares at the moon, knowing that Luna, his loyal friend, is actually rooting for Camille and not for him this time. "I saw you giving up," he tells her, keeping his eyes on the moon. Axl smiles as he snaps his fingers, making her flinch back. He sighs again.
"This doesn't make sense," Camille stutters, trying to stay calm as the blanket covers her from head to toe. Trying to forget what had just happened, but the visit from the Goddess of Evil and Death has shaken her in a way she can't forget. Her words full of evil, how she stepped on her dignity, with a simple look. It's difficult to believe that she's actually his mother. "How did you know I was there?" Camille questions trying not to fall for his looks anymore.
Her life depends on keeping her mind clear. She can't let herself be pushed down by a soulless being like Lady Eirene. Although she's definitely a frightful woman, Camille finds herself building up the courage to stand up in front of her. After hearing her mocking tone as she mentioned Steve's name and what he has done to her. Instead of crying, Camille wants to stand up and refuse to be offered as an object of no value. "I am the God of the Water," Axl answers in a mocking tone while his eyes travel every part of her flustered face, captivated by the sudden fire in her purple eyes. Her pouty lips tightening up into a straight line. Axl breathes in profoundly before speaking up. "I am positive that you know that tempting with your life is against the rule of any world," he says, closing his eyes to try and erase the sensation of her body against his.
Camille remembers slowly being pushed into the water without giving her a chance to call for help. Although it's evident that Axl already knows everything and more than he admits, deep down, she has begun to notice how he gives her a choice to speak her mind. "I was not planning to suicide myself. I'm sure you know that..." Camille assures him with a hint of soreness, which becomes amusing to him. Indeed, Axl knows that Camille wouldn't commit such a crime against herself, but he couldn't sense his mother anywhere close. Even though there's a mysterious dark mass lurking from a distance.
"Intriguing, indeed..." he observes. Axl exhales at the sound of Camille's laughter but turns serious when he notices that it's nothing but a façade. "What is so funny?" He asks, not covering his annoyance by her attitude.
"My stupidity, that's what's so funny. You know better than anyone," Camille keeps giggling, although the tears in her eyes give her away. "Isn't funny, your majesty? I mean, come on, to make believe that I have where I belong. I'm sure you know I had the pleasure of meeting your mother, the evil queen of darkness, or something," Camille blurs out, but the more she speaks, the more she wants to say. "So, it turns out I'm an offering? Like what, why am I being offered for, I don't understand. What was all the act for? Taking me to see the lake of lights. Is this what you do to the others that come here with the same purpose? Why? You can just do as you please, can't you? I mean, everyone here shakes and hides when the mighty God of Water makes his grand entrance?" A while ago, her violet eyes showed nothing but worry, but now look lifeless and with a hint of hatred.
"Now, you as a god, can you tell me. What value do I have if I commit suicide? If I offend the gods, does it make a difference?" She demands answers, but Axl is blinded by the strange way he's connected to her pain. To watch her put up a front when deep down, she falls into a hole of regret and resentment for letting herself feel comfortable in this place, for allowing him to fill her mind to the point of forgetting Adam.
"To question a decision you cannot change will only hurt you more, Camille," Axl warns her with caution. Axl knows that sending her back to Primavera Town would be more of a punishment than a favor to her, but he's confused by his own action and his desire when it comes to her. "It is better to forget about your world and do as you are told." He exhales as he turns to the moon. After all, he can see that Luna feels guilty for not taking Camille's side against the Great Goddess of Evil and Death. Axl sighs, trying to keep his friend happy. "You have no place to go back there..." his voice holding a sudden hurtful tone that shakes her heart.
"You don't know anything." Camille snaps at him but soon realizes her mistake as he turns to her with menacing eyes.
"Do you think I am blind to the marks on your body? Do you think I am blind to your pain? Do you think that child is strong enough to save you from him?" He slaps her with a painful truth. Camille's eyes widen with anger and shock, fighting immediate tears, but Axl can't stop anymore. Although he refuses to admit it, deep down, all he wants to do is save her, give her a chance to see the light she wants to see. "Why do you wish to go back to a world where you only know pain?" He questions with a condescending tone that triggers her anger. Her violet eyes intensify as she glares at him with no emotion at all. Axl takes the bite, something he has never lowered himself to do with a human, with an offering.
"How dare you..." For her misfortune, he's right; her heart clenches with fury. Hating the fact that nothing is hidden from his crystal eyes. That he knows how worthless her life actually is. That she has hit a new low where she can't even think Adam can save her. Adam, who was the only one she had. The raging guilt eats her inside out. "What do you know about love? What do you know about the pain of losing someone you love? What do you know, the agony of not knowing where they are or what happened to her? You that have everyone women you desire ready to serve a kiss your feet. You don't know anything about loving someone so much it hurts-"
"You are correct." Axl cuts her off with an icy tone that shocks her for a slight second. "You were offered to serve me in every way possible. You being here, it is my mistake," Axl admits to her surprise. Those words hurt her more than anything else at this point. Holding her breath, Camille turns away, trying to avoid those feelings. Feelings she regrets to have. "One day, I made the foolish mistake of disobeying the Great Goddess of Evil and Death," he tells her, captivating her with honesty and a hidden strike of pain.
"And I do not plan to fall for it again, but have you forgotten? This is what you asked for. I granted your wish..." His voice calm but cold, a cold that snapped Camille to reality. Adam was always worried about her; he couldn't make his own life because of her. Her mother still cries because of her and her little brother. He had his own health to worry about. Why would she want to get in the way of their lives? "Do not worry, this will not happen again. After all, you do not have anything that the nymphs, the angels, and the goddesses have not done already." He says with a cold tone that stings her heart in a way she has never experienced before. "You can be free here because it is obvious that you do not know how to call for help," he argues as the sudden wind slowly elevates him. Making his way to the balcony, Axl disappears through the night while Camille falls down on the floor.
Already regretting her words, remembering the second, his bright eyes turned off, she holds in her tears—the room fills up with fresh air and the fragrance of vivid nature. Breathing in the air, she takes a look at the sky, where the moon illuminates the land and foggy sadness takes over her soul. "Adam." she cries with regret, knowing that she won't be able to face him after falling for the God of Water.
