1 year later🫶🏾.

it had been a year. & 3 years since juju and bronny started dating. the two were in love more than when they first started dating. they moved in together about 3 months ago & bronny had his heart set on proposing to her.

juju just ended her junior year in college as well as bronny. he was still playing basketball at stanford and even broke records there.

rayah was playing for the atlanta dream for the WNBA. she won rookie of the year her first year and was named mvp. she's also engaged to her fiancée in which they dated for 3 years.

ken came back to the U.S where she was now an assistant coach for the seattle storm. she has a gf they have been dating for almost 2 years.

"baby wya ?" i yelled walking through the door of our apartment.

"movie room" he yelled.

i went upstairs & saw him in the movie room putting a snack bar up.

"uhh babe what is this ?" i asked.

"well i thought why not get a snack bar instead of having to go downstairs to get them everytime when we could have em up here already stocked and ready" he said.

"mm i like that this is cute" i said opening the doors and stuff.

"and you did this by yourself ?"

"yup, all it took was some instructions.. and since i took construction 3 years outta 4 during high school" he said and i smirked.

"what ?"

"mm it's just my man can play basketball and put stuff together" i said as he wrapped his arms around waist.

"mhmm" he said kissing my lips.

"i gotta go shower" i said.

"can i join you ?"

"why so you can make sure i can't walk tomorrow for practice ?" i asked giggling.

i walked to our room & grabbed some clean clothes starting my shower. i undressed and got in washing my body & my hair.

afterwards i got out wrapping my body in a towel. i walked into our room which was connected and took of all of my jewelry.

"fine a**" i heard.

i turned around and saw bronny staring me up and down biting on his bottom lip. i looked at him blushing.

"thank you baby" i said smiling at him.

i walked back into the bathroom, dropping the towel i put my clothes on leaving me in my sports bra & compression shorts.

i finished my skin care routine & brushed my teeth walked out getting into bed. i grabbed my laptop and looked at some of my emails.

"i'm taking zhuri to see inside out 2 this weekend you wanna come ?" bronny asked.

"i would love too" i said smiling at him.

he set up his game to play fortnite and i felt my phone vibrating. i saw that ken was calling so i answered it.

"hey bestie" i said.

"hey girl wyd ?" she asked.

"mm nun in bed chillin wby ?"

"chillin.. i was bored but then i remembered i have a best friend i can bother" she said making me laugh.

"how's your relationship ?" i asked.

"it's going good, for the first time. but i really feel like she's for me... she understands me and she's so patient . God sent her when i needed her most and i'm forever grateful for that" she said.

"happy for you b-"

"NIGGA YOU CHEATED" i heard bronny yell into his headset.

i stopped my sentence looking up at him huffing. cus all he do is holler when he play the game and we talked about this he said he would stop.

"BAE PLEASE. your yelling again" i said.

"ohh my fault ma" he said.

"anyways i'm happy for you! i'm glad you found someone genuine and that's treating you right. ion think you could take another heart break and i couldn't either cus ion even play bout you".

"i love you" ken said.

"i love you forever yk it's always us bestie"

"can you keep secrets ?" i asked my little brother bryce.

"mhmm wassup ?" he asked.

"i'm gonna propose to juju" i said.

he smiled at hugged me.

"well that's good i think y'all both are ready. y'all been together for forever now.. yo secret safe with me bro" he said smiling at me.

i smiled back and dapped him up, cus thank God he ain't a blabber mouth.

"preciate you bro.. but i need you to come help me pick out a ring for her" i said.

"bet i'm down" he said and i nodded.

i walked into the kitchen and sat my bag down on the counter. i grabbed a cold bottle of water and drank it wiping my face. it was quiet so that must mean juju gone.

i looked up and saw her walk in, her hair was down and she was wearing her glasses. she smiled at me and hugged me.

"how was workouts ?" she asked.

"good, i feel like it's bettering me especially my mind & body" i said wrapping my arms around her waist.

"mm thats good. but um what you want for dinner tonight ?" she asked.

"whatever you wanna cook ma yk me ian picky. i eat whatever i can" i said and she nodded.

it's crazy to think we been together for 3 strong years. i wanna spend the rest of my life with this girl. and i'm hoping she feels the same way because proposing to her has been on my mind heavy & she doesn't even know that.

"BABY! you okay ? you were zoned out" she said.

"oh yeah just thinking"

"i love you yk that ? i feel like ion tell you that enough as well as i appreciate you. cus you got me through me hardest times. you held me when i was at my lowest. i'm grateful for everything you did and do for me as well as making sure i'm fed cus every since we moved in together you been doing yo thang fr i really appreciate you mamas" i said holding her waist.

"aww baby.. i love you forever more. i appreciate you. you gone make sure i always get what i want and need even when i tell you not to get it for me. the way you make sure i'm happy and continue to make sure i'm good is all i ever wanted. the love and support you show me is amazing. i'm grateful for you too my love. it's always us" she said.

i leaned down and we shared a passionate kiss. future mrs. james ykk. my favorite girl. i'm glad God gave me her cus she held me down since day 1 & never switched up. she real and genuine.
