"thank you ma" i said to juju as she handed him a bottle of water.

"yw love" she said.

juju sat down on his bed as she massage his calf's. they were both bored and had no plans. it was late in the evening .

"so babe i gotta question" bronny said.

juju looked up from her phone. she locked it sitting it down giving him her full attention.

"mhm what's that ?"

"what happened between you and dj ? i kinda always wondered yall were so in love" bronny said.

she was shocked that bronny even wanted to know. but he knew his place and he knew juju didn't want anyone else but him so it didn't bother him to know or ask.

"well, we started dating when we were sophomores up until we graduated high school. we were so in love. we had so much in common and that being basketball as one. we were the normal highschool couple"

"during senior year we talked about what colleges we were thinking about taking the scholarship from. he chose New York ofc and he knew he wanted to go there since freshman year. but i was indecisive."

"he told me come play basketball in new york they gave you a offer yk we wouldn't have to be apart and we can continue life with each other. so me being me im like let me think and go visit the colleges first and see what the team got"

flashback 2 years earlier 🫧.

dj: you should take the offer and come play for new york! ion wanna be away from you bae 😫.

juju: i'll see baby , yk i got a lot of choices i wanna go check out the other schools and see what they got.

dj: bet, lemme know how your visit with usc go ma! i love you 🫶🏾.

juju: i will love and i love you more 💕.

2 hours later.

juju: hey babe, im done.

dj: how'd it go ??

juju: good i really like it there. they like a family and so close and that's what i want in a team.

dj: that's good well take your time love and lmk.

juju: dj.. i already know where im going..

dj: and ??? please tell me your coming to new york, long distance gone be so difficult if you go somewhere else.

juju: i'm going to usc dj. i really like it there and the team feels like home. i feel like this is the best choice for me.

dj: usc ? like in california ? wow okay.

juju: yes babe here in cali. look i love you i really do but where i go to school shouldn't matter babe.

dj: judea i don't wanna do long distance man. how is it gone work when im in new york and you in california ? you real life.. nvm .

juju: real life what dj ? your not being a real supportive bf right now. can't you just be happy for me & know im doing what's best for me.

dj: you see how selfish you sound ? doing what's best for you. what about US judea ? huh ? you ain't even think about how i would feel.

juju: i did think about us dj. it's never selfish to go after your dreams and do what's best for yourself. where i go to school shouldn't matter dj i love you wether im in new york or not.

dj: long distance bro that's the problem.

juju: i understand that dj i don't wanna be away from you, but life is life and you gotta understand that. if we love each other we should be able to follow our dreams even if that means we gotta be apart. where i go to school doesn't effect how i feel about you bae and yk that.

dj: man aight do want you want judea im done.

juju: so your breaking up with me ? over my decision to stay here in cali ? over text ? you really that upset ?

dj: it's just not about your choice judea it's about the fact that I'm in love with you and i cannot be away from you. doing long distance is basically punishing me.

juju: dj can we talk face to face ?

juju: hello ?

juju: you really done 💔.

juju: i love you 🥺💔.

"he was really upset about me choosing to stay here in la" i said.

"that's low. the least he could have done was talk to you face to face" bronny said.

"exactly, it was just hard to believe yk.. we were together for 3 years. so him just breaking up with me like that over such a small decision like that really blows my mind" i said.

"well im proud of you baby.. you stood your ground and now you doing something so big. you going somewhere big. your such a success at a young age. ik that took a lot of hard work, dedication, blood, sweat, and tears. but you did it and your not done yet" bronny said.

juju looked into his eyes. her eyes starting to water. she was so happy to hear that coming from bronny.

that's all she wanted was support. and someone to tell her that her choice wasn't the worst. but hearing someone as important as him saying "he was proud of her" made her so happy.

"bronny.. i love you. with all my heart like i appreciate you so much. thank you for being here and supporting me one hundred percent my love" juju said.

he nodded grabbing her hand. he wrapped his arms around her waist. leaned down to kiss her. and she didn't take long for her to kiss back.

bronny had her heart. he was so important to her. she saw her whole future with him.

ofc there was no bad blood between them and dj. juju and dj were on good terms and were friends. that was just life!

nothing is ever a mistake it's a lesson & they all had to learn that. their relationship was good and that's all she wanted with him after the breakup.
