2 weeks later🫧.

today my first day back at practice im happy.. i been so depressed without basketball mane.. im glad to be back.. this mean i gotta lot of work to do to get back into the shape i was in before.

i got up & brushed my teeth putting on deodorant . i grabbed my water bottle with my basketball bag , my phone, and keys.

i think im ready to bump now.. if im not oh well.. imma have to deal with a headache cus a nigga happy . i said bye to my family and headed to my car .

luckily i put gas in here last night cus i almost ran out and was about to break down onna side of the road .

i stopped at starbucks to get coffee cus i need a little more energy . when i pulled up to the window to get it the worker was tryna flirt .

"your handsome" the worker said.

she was darkskin, short, and her hair and lashes were done.. bronny ofc saw nothing wrong with other than she wasn't juju.

"preciate it" he said said trying to be as nice as possible.

the worker gave bronny his latte & touched his hand hoping he would realize .

"can i have your number ?" she asked.. her voice hinting she was fed up.

"i have a gf, no thank you.. but have a nice day" he said smiling at her.

bronny rolled up his windows & then rolled his eyes.. the fake smile he put on for her he didn't wanna be rude ..

his respect went to all restaurant workers bcus they ain't have it like him.. his dad was famous and had money not everybody had that.. and people who work at restaurants tend to have it the hardest in life.

him and juju both made it a priority to be nice when they went to fast food restaurants. they both were humble bcus just as quick as they got what they had .. God can take it away.

bronny headed to practice making it here 15 minutes before it started giving him time to text juju, get changed, and warm up.

he got into the locker room changing into his practice jersey & basketball shoes . he grabbed his phone & juju had texted him.

bronny put his phone down and grabbed a basketball walking to the court . he was so happy to touch that court in his basketball gear. the love, the passion, the dedication he had for that sport it was more than words.

"are you nervous for him ?" ken asked as they were in the locker room changing .

"yes, i just don't want him to push himself to hard.. yk bronny he will overwork himself like crazy" juju said.

"girl hopefully his teammates help him out yk"

"yeah, i hope"

"bestie ?" ken said shocked.

"what ?" juju said genuinely confused.

"what's that on your chest ?" ken said smirking .

"oh it's a mosquito bite" juju said rolling her eyes.

"LIARRR THATS A HICKEYYY" ken yelled.

"no dip sherlock" juju said tying her shoes.

"girl did yall .. yk ?" ken said quietly .

"no, ken.. yk bronny's just a tease . always have been always will be" juju said laughing.

"man yall never do nun" ken said rolling her eyes.

"because our relationship isn't about sex .. we love each other and that's what it's about .. that's just a bonus" juju said.

"yeah your right, well im happy your happy and im glad he's treating you right" ken said hugging her best friend.

"thank you bestie, and im happy for you to cus baby you just as tenda as i am" juju said as they both laughed.

juju & ken both walked out of the locker room.. they went to the court where some of their teammates were . they were shooting around and playing games .

we been practicing for about 10 minutes now and everything going good.. it just feels so good to be back .. i feel like i've been gone for forever.

my coach told us to get on the line.. and ik then a nigga finna die.. them 10 suicides almost kills me everytime . this what i hate most at practice. this the only thing i didnt miss.

the boys finished doing their 10 suicides they were all laid out on the floor breathing heavily. there coach didn't play during the offseason.

bronny got up and went to grab water.

"where you going james ?" his coach yelled.

"to get water man i need it" he said .

"NO WATER BREAK LETS GO MOVE IT" he yelled .

bronny stood there staring at him.. cus did he really think he was finna do that ? after he'd just got out of the hospital .. one reason he was in it was because of dehydration during practices his coach just didn't know that.

"man i need it coach" bronny said.

"these other boys are fine let's go".

"im not them.. we all got different bodies and our bodies handles workouts differently" bronny said.

"your not special get on this court or get out" his coach yelled.

a little backstory .. bronny and his coach never really along ! (not in real life this fake.) bronny & his teammates knew he was putting way more pressure on him because he was lebron james' son he excepted way more out him.. way more work putting bronny's body in danger.

bronny always kept it a secret because he love basketball & didn't want to ruin his chances of playing . his parents never knew.. only him and his teammates in which he made them promise they wouldn't tell anyone .

bronny & his coach got into a lot during offseason but no one could tell during games because he looked like a normal coach screaming at his players for dumb mistakes.

he grabbed his water bottle & looked at his teammates.. did he really wanna quit.. no.. was it worth risking putting him in the hospital again ? was it worth getting bullied by a coach ? not to bronny.

although he loved basketball, he had more respect for himself.. he knew he couldn't take that kind of treatment from him anymore it would only lead up to built up anger who knows what would happen next.

"i quit" bronny said before grabbing his things & walking.. he could hear both his coach & teammates calling after him. but he didn't care he'd had enough .

bronny got into his car and texted juju first .. because he didn't want his dad going off on the coach he wanted to wait.

bronny stared at her messages but he didn't know how to reply .. what was he supposed to say .. he quit basketball ?

when bronny texted me that he was done my heart started beating because like what you mean .. my first thought was life & i instantly texted back..

he told me to go to his house so we could talk so i left my dorm with jean shorts & a bra on cus bby i gotta go see bout my man and make sure he good.

juju swerved into the driveway of the james home. she got out ran to the door ringing the door bell. bronny opened it & she could tell just by the look in his eyes.. something was wrong.

bronny grabbed her hand and led her to his room.

"what's wrong baby ?" juju said.

"i did it" he said quietly .

"you did what ?"

"i quit basketball he said".

"WHAT why ?" juju said.

"my coach.. he was low-key putting my body in danger. he was extra hard and wouldn't let me take water breaks when i needed them.. snarky comments & saying how he don't know how im lebron james' son , he was really he really doesn't realize its hurting me physically and mentally. it wasn't worth risking being put in the hospital again" bronny said.

juju looked into his eyes and she could tell he was hurt.. more about his coach's action towards him then him quitting. she was relieved it ain't had nun to do with him wanting to hurt himself like she thought.

"omg baby" juju said .

she went in hugging him.. she'd never seen him so hurt before .. she was hurting for him.. why not treat him as if he's a normal person.. he still his OWN person. it wasn't about him being the son of one the best basketball players ever. it was about the fact that he loved it and gave 100% on and off the court everytime . that what matters.

juju knew bronny didn't like showing his emotional side .. he didn't like crying in front of people and definitely not her.. he thought it made him seem weak.. but she wanted to see all his emotions .. she wanted him to know she was there no matter if he was crying, laughing, happy, sad, angry.. he had feelings . he was human & men cry.

"im so sorry babe, yk your a goat don't let him get to you.. its about the hard work & dedication you give! im proud of you , we're proud of you.. i love you"

bronny said nothing.. his face in her neck trying to hold his emotions , find his emotions .. did he really wanna cry in front of his girlfriend ?

"baby, it's okay to cry .. your hurting i understand.. real men cry.. men are human , it's normal.. let it out, it won't make you less of a man than you already are.. it doesn't make you weak" juju said .

with that she could feel tears going down her neck.. his sniffles .. the pain he felt and the anger he was holding in for so long. it's was all coming out.

"i love you forever & yk i gotchu" she whispered.

"i love you.. i appreciate you ma.. more than words can explain, thank you for being my shoulder to cry on" he said.

"no literally" he said looking down at her jacket that was stained with tears.

"it's us forever my love no matter what" she said.
