Calming the Approaching Storm
After Hyperion and Helios' destruction, Lucifer makes his way to Suria Castle to claim the throne as his. If only he was ready to face a certain mentor's wrath. (This was inspired by the video above.)
Everything was gloomy and silent, as if time had stopped. The destruction of the king and prince had been felt by all of Aether's subjects. Almost everyone was ordered to go into hiding, for a dark energy was making its way to The Heart. Those who chose to hide rushed to their homes in the forests, caves, mountains and seas.
Those who chose to stay stood guard at the gates of Suria Castle, ready to protect the throne of their dear king. Namely, the Celestials, Valkyrie, Dragon and the Myrmidons of Phithia led by Achilles and his father, Peleus.
It did not take long before he arrived. A dark purple aura surrounded him. It was bigger and brighter than before, perhaps as a result of consuming Hyperion and Helios' flare. A smug smile was etched across his face.
"So, you all came prepared," he said in an amused tone. "Well, that is to be expected."
"Lucifer," Valkyrie snarled. "What you have committed was unspeakable. Once His Majesty returns, you will surely be sentenced to Tartarus!"
"You cannot sentence me to the domain that I rule over!" Lucifer mocked.
"Your bloodline may have ruled the Underworld for centuries, but in the end, His Majesty is the one who decides! He will bring justice, no matter one's position in the hierarchy!" Dragon said. "Just give up, Lucifer! You're outnumbered here!"
"Oh, outnumbered you say?" Just as Lucifer said that, rifts opened around him, allowing devils from the Underworld to spill out.
"Myrmidons! Prepare for battle!" Peleus commanded his tribe with authority.
Before the two opposing sides could even make a move, a flash of red dashed towards Lucifer's legion of devils. Before anyone knew it, the entire devil army, minus Lucifer, was torn to oblivion.
Though it was quick, Lucifer knew who was behind it. He turned around, and saw none other than Achilles, launching himself towards him with his sword in hand. As the red warrior prepared to attack him, Lucifer simply encased himself in a barrier of magenta crystals.
The crystals began to grow, pushing Achilles back from Lucifer's physical body. The crystals continued to grow until they had seemingly fully consumed Achilles.
"Achilles!" Valkyrie shouted for her companion.
Peleus made a rush for the crystal. Using his spear, he broke the magenta shards, freeing his son. Achilles was thankfully alive. His father brought him back to safe ground.
"Achilles, what were you thinking?!" Peleus questioned his son. But Achilles payed no heed.
"You shouldn't have rushed into battle like that!" Dragon scolded his friend.
"Get out of my way..." Achilles mumbled angrily.
"Wh-Wha-" before Dragon could ask further, he was pushed away.
"I said...GET OUT OF MY WAY!" Achilles shouted as he dashed towards the crystal containing Lucifer.
He hit the crystal with a powerful slash, leaving a noticeable crack. As if he was in a violent bey battle, the red spirit repeated the same attack over and over again. With every attack, he hissed and growled like a feral animal.
After a total of 100 strikes, the barrier shattered. Achilles caught the slightest sight of Lucifer's body and wasted no time.
With a single slash, through the shards, the red warrior beheaded the dark prince.
Blood sprung from the now headless body like a fountain. Valkyrie and her allies, especially Peleus, couldn't believe what they had just witnessed. But they were not prepared for what was about to happen next.
"Hehehehehehe..." an unhinged giggling suddenly erupted from Achilles' throat.
As the giggles grew louder, dark energy began emitting from Lucifer's headless body. As if working on autopilot, Lucifer's dark powers began to attack Achilles on its own, perhaps attempting to protect their wielder's body. Magenta crystals sprouted from the ground, launching Achilles high into the air while severely wounding him.
But these wounds mattered little to the red warrior. In fact, he didn't feel anything at all.
Like an unstoppable war machine, he tore through the crystal and every single attack that came. Every attack caused him great injuries but he didn't give a care in the world about them.
After all, he fought in a legendary war. He's used to bleeding a lot, right?
After ripping through the onslaught of attacks, Achilles reached Lucifer's headless corpse and proceeded to bash it repeatedly with his blade. The giggling turned into full blown cackling as blood splattered onto the redhead's face.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!! THINGS...HEHE...THINGS NEVER CHANGE, DO THEY?!" Achilles screamed in his madness.
"I couldn't even protect him! I'm a fool to think that I could protect everyone else!"
Achilles continued to mutilate Lucifer's body while laughing maniacally. His allies could only stand in them place as he became blinded by anguish and bloodlust. Some were on the verge of vomiting, for the gore was a bit too much for them.
Peleus looked on at his son. He knew this attitude all too well. He remembered the account of one his men, of how Achilles brutally killed thousands of soldiers, both of enemies and allies, after the death of his dearest friend. He never would've thought that history would repeat itself almost 3000 years later.
Peleus turned to look at his army. His sights were set on one of his men, who was wielding a bow and arrow. The Myrmidon in question noticed his leader's gaze and instantly knew what he had to do.
Achilles was too engrossed in mutilating the one who had killed his student and the king he swore his loyalty to. He did not notice that Lucifer's body had already turned to dust. Then, a quick and sudden pain struck his foot like electricity. The bashing of his blade stopped as he dropped his sword, the world around him began to spin. Achilles fell limp onto the bloodstained ground.
'I've failed them....Am I going to fail Aiga too?' were his last thoughts before everything faded to black.
