Chapter 7: Playing Her Game!
=========================
Logan made his way up the stairs leaving the inmates alone, they'll be fine in a few weeks, maybe he did go a little too hard on them but who really cares, their in here for a reason and it's not a good one, when he stopped at the top, he took a look around and there she was, Harley Quinn inside her cell with her feet propped up, it looked like a hotel room compared to what these other inmates got.
Batman: Nice set-up you got yourself.
Logan walked towards the cell as she glanced over him, Logan needed to compose himself a little, Harley's not just some pretty eyes, sure he does think she's being manipulated and she can change but she has also helped in some of the most destructive stuff that's happened in Gotham, she'll do anything for her Clown, maybe Logan can use that to his advantage.
Harley: You're not Batsy. All that builds up and I'm disappointed.
Harley looked over to him on her left, her left arm dangling down to the floor while her feet stayed propped up on the desk, maybe this isn't her cell, it's pretty big, she has her own desk, a wheelie chair, even a pin board with a lot of things dotted all over the place, Logan can't make much off it right now but he's not here for her crazy dribbles.
Batman: I want that book. Now.
Logan stepped closer to the cell while Harley kicked back on the desk making the chair push away, sliding into the middle of the room, she did an entire spin before stopping and looking at Logan, the book he came for in her hands, she hasn't let go of it since he got here, this thing better have his answers.
Harley: Hm, say please ~
Harley sung to him, the book still in her arms while spinning on the chair again, Logan sighed while looking around, mostly for an easy way into this cell, if she's not going to give it to him, he's more then willing to take it from her, without seeing a way in, he wasn't looking to play games and she didn't need to know he can't see a way in.
Batman: Give me the book, or I'll open this cage and take it from you.
Logan watched her stop the chair spinning and look over to him, almost for a second she just sat there looking him up and down, like she's trying to scout him out, which didn't last long since she stood up from the chair, quickly placing the book down and swaying her way towards him, that's not going to work on him, if that's what she's trying to do after all.
Harley: Huh, you're no fun. I like the other Batman more.
Harley swayed around a little while pouting at him, Logan rolled his eyes then figured that he should just play her game, play her game and he'll get the book and he can get out of here and get back on track on who killed his father, it goes against his pride but if he wants answers then clearly he has to play along.
Batman: Please, give me what you had for Batman.
Harley turned around and slowly walked back towards the chair while looking at the board, he can't see the smile on her face with her eyes closed till he said that, both changed, her smile dropped into a sick smile and her eyes opened turning back to face him slowly, he's just confirmed what she already knew anyway, no point in hiding it.
Harley: Wait a second. This means the Bats dead. For real?
Logan looked down to the floor, seeing the batman symbol on his chest as he did, he knows he's not Bruce and there's no point in trying to pretend, he's smaller and shorter then Bruce is, people are going to start putting that together, might as well make sure they know that it's merely a change of management.
Batman: Harley... I'm really not in the mood.
Harley watched him, for a few seconds staring at him right into his pure white eye's, Logan stared back wondering what she's going to do next, he can't predict since it's Harley Quinn, trying to understand how she works is a terrifying thing, so he just needs to keep on his toes, even in this cell she's probably the most dangerous person in this Prison.
Harley: Sorry, he told me not to tell anyone but Batsy himself.
Logan watched her shrug like it was the most casual thing in the world, grabbed the book again then sat back on the chair, she even tried to play with him a little by reading through the book, Logan adjusted to put his hands on his waist, he is Batman, sure he's not the Batman that asked for this but he's still Batman and needs that book.
Batman: You know, I read the report about your boyfriend's breakouts. How you helped him every single time...
Logan's talking about every single time the Joker broke out of either Arkham or this place, each time, Harley was the front and center of all of them, she made it happen, so he's going to use her love for the Clown to get what he wants, his arms crossing across his chest while Harley pretended like she wasn't listening to him, he knew otherwise though.
Batman: ... It must eat you up inside knowing he's back in town and you're still stuck in a cage.
Logan checked the records, Harley's been in here for a good couple months, by this time, Harley would have at least tried to get the Joker out but he hasn't bothered in the few weeks he's shown back up here in Gotham, Harley closed the book and thought about his words for a second but then seemed to quickly brush them off.
Harley: Mister J wouldn't do that. Nice try.
She tried to go back to what she was doing like what he said hasn't bothered her but Logan knows otherwise, he can see that what he said has gotten into her head, that's how easy it is, the Joker means the world to her, Harley will burn down Gotham if he asks her too, turns out the feeling isn't mutual.
Batman: Yeah because I have nothing better than to break up your little glooming romance.
Logan tossed his arms up a little while Harley still tried to ignore his words, Logan however was smiling under his helmet, their not the only ones that can play mind games, turns out Logan's got a trick or two up his sleeve, Harley seemed to be really thinking this over, apparently she had no idea her beloved "Mister J" was back in town, call Logan what you want but he actually felt a little bad for her.
Batman: Help me. And I'll help you.
Logan put his right hand on the bars, leaning against the cell, he's being serious, he couldn't imagine what it's like to give everything to someone that wouldn't give it back, he's personally never felt that way about someone so he couldn't imagine but her dedication towards the Clown is undeniable, it seems to him the Joker doesn't care all that about Harley.
Harley: You really aren't Batsy are you?
Logan shook his head "no" to her when she glanced over to him, he's not like the Batman she knows, or knew now, he's not trying to play the game the same way his father did, Logan needs to do his own thing and if Bruce was willing to ask Harley for help, whatever that got him killed must have been big and scared Bruce, this kind of worries Logan.
Harley: Fine, he asked me to profile some criminals, on account of me being a brilliant psychiatrist.
Logan stood back up right as she stood from her chair, his hands no longer touching the bars, sure he needs her help but she could also break his fingers, that's not something he needs right now so he put his arms back into the folded position across his chest while Harley gilded around her cell a little, clearly in the mood to help him now.
Batman: Crazy is as crazy does right?
Harley had left the book on the desk while walking closer to the cell, when Logan said that, she was now holding the bars, Logan didn't really like the way she was looking at him, the look in her eyes, the smile on her face, at least she changed her features when he called her crazy.
Harley: Hey! I'm not crazy, just a little coo coo sometimes.
Harley chuckled to herself while using her right index finger to tap onto her own head, Logan huffed as she continued to stand by the bars, Logan didn't move either though, standing still with his arms across his chest, he didn't expect it to take this long, honestly he figured he'd just walk in, grab the book then leave but apparently not.
Batman: Sure whatever you say. Show me what you got.
He's not sure how he's going to be able to repay her for helping Bruce, he's not sure what deal they made, he's not stupid and knows Harley wouldn't have done this for nothing, whatever it is, he trusts Bruce's judgment in making the agreement, Logan will figure that out later, just as soon as Harley's done playing.
Harley: What no dinner first? Boo...
Logan needed a second before it clicked on what she was talking about, Logan's just a 17 year old, this flirting game stuff is pretty new to him, sure he's got friends in school that play but that's not quite to this crazy level, he just decided to ignore it while Harley swayed herself back over to the book, still set on the desk to the side.
Harley: ... Everything is in this book. But...
Harley picked it up and turned back to him, she gave him a little smile while again, gliding her way towards him, Logan figured she was about to give him the book but stopped, instead she kept the book to herself stopping by the cell wall, Logan stepped a little closer just not thinking he'd get the book, he didn't even realise he did it.
Harley: ... I'm missin' my piece de resistance. I need you to follow up on this here card. That'll make it perfect.
Harley opened the book, took out a small piece of paper, Logan tried to get a glimpse into the book but she closed it too quick, apparently she's not as dumb and clumsy as people seem to think, Harley slowly held out the peice of paper to him, Logan still not moving isn't looking to do a scavenger hunt.
Batman: I'm not your errand boy Quinn.
Harley stepped closer to the bars, her right hand sliding through them pushing the paper against his chest, Logan didn't stop her and just let her do what she felt like she needed to do, he also has this feeling that she won't do anything to him, she never really did to his father, just the odd slap here and there, he'll keep his guard up but touching aloud right.
Harley: Sure you're not but you're going to do it anyway.
The way she said that made Logan feel... he's not really sure, not threatened because she had this sweet tone, almost like a little girl asking her parents fr sa toy at Christmas, Logan didn't even realise it but he took the paper from her, looking it over, it just looks like a piece to something, he can't say what.
Batman: What makes you say that?
Harley walked back to her spinny chair with a slight sway about her, clearly she has the ball in her court, she has the book and yeah, he can threaten to go in there and take it from her but Bruce taught him never to pick a fight, try and avoid them if possible, he's willing to bet Batman didn't follow that rule all too much but Harley didn't seem all that worried about it since she kicked back again with the book still in her possession.
Harley: Because I have a nice smile.
Logan watched her and her "nice" smile for a moment, he couldn't argue she does have a nice smile, a crazy one at times but still nice, he's seen more friendlier people with scarier ones, then again that could tell you more about Harley as a person and not the others, anyone who uses their nice smile against others is a pretty bad guy.
Harley: It should be down in records. Okay? Bye.
Harley went back to reading the book, leaving Logan to shake his head and step back ready to leave, why's he actually doing this, he could literally break down that cell and take it by force, maybe he wants to gain her trust or something, hell, if she knows where the Clown could be hiding then working with her is better then working against her.
Batman: Anne. Send me a layout of Blackgate. I need to find the records room.
Logan waited while glancing back to Harley, she just sat their spinning around on her chair, he couldn't help but wonder what she'd be up to right now if the Clown hadn't got to her, she is smart, Bruce always told him so, he's even seen it once or twice, maybe he can help her, the Joker doesn't care about her, why shouldn't he try to help, that's what Batman does right...
