Chapter 1: Gotham's Darkest Night!
=========================
Gotham City, a town most people avoid for the levels of Crime that's leaking in through the cracks, however some make the trip to meet the infamous Batman, although, if you see him, it's probably not good news for you since he is the sole reason criminals no longer come out at night, the fear of the Batman has caused them all to scurry into their little hideouts, however, even the Batman has his foes, ones that no matter how much he stops, they always come back for more...

*Gonna need you to end it at 7:25 for it to link with the story.*
... Red Robin is the first one to answer the call, when the computer went down, started to make his way back home to see Wayne Manor in complete ashes, the home he grew up in, his childhood memories, all of them, reduced to nothing but fire and smoke, letting out a little cough from inhaling the flames, he snapped back to what's happened and realised that someone was inside the building when it came down.
Red Robin: ... Batman?
He didn't believe that he could be hurt because who could hurt the Batman right, he's indestructible, or at least people say he is, without hearing a response, Red Robin continued to climb over the rubble while the others made their way to answer the call too, only with it being just Red Robin here, meant he needed to clear majority of the debris himself, which seemed impossible but Red Robin's an impossible child, easily lifting a piece of rubble that would be too heavy for Dick, Duncan and Nick combined, there was a price to pay since there was a small fire underneath it, so when he lifted the rubble and the fire met the oxygen, it blow up into his face...
... He fumbled back out of the flames a little while tapping over his head trying to get the flames off himself, but without hearing Batman, it's going to take forever to find him in all this, so with slight panic filling the young teen, he looked around before giving one more loud call.
Logan: Dad!?
Pulling his mask off, Red Robin is Bruce Wayne's youngest son, Logan, unlike the others, Dick, Duncan and Nick, Logan is actually a Wayne, he has Bruce's blood running through his veins, so to him, Bruce is indestructible, every boys dad is to them, so the longer and longer it's taking Logan to find Bruce, the more panicked he's becoming.
Logan: Dad!!!?
Logan climbed onto an elevated area to try and get a better look of what's going on, he didn't need to though because nearby, he could hear what seemed like someone trying to climb out, Logan turned to the spot before seeing Batman's gauntlet sticking out the side, a small bit of relief flowing back through him, Logan jumped down and ran as fast as he can to the large debris covering his father, bigger than the concrete earlier, you'd think he'd have struggled but it was and easy lift and shove for the boy, setting his father free.
Bruce: *Coughing* ... Logan...?
Logan didn't answer him, he just tried to pick Bruce up as best he could and dragged him to a spot where he can sit up against some more rubble, the Batcave is gone, everything to do with the Batman has gone, but their still here and they can rebuild, the rubble is just that, rubble, it doesn't matter, Logan's not sure what he'd do without Bruce.
Logan: Yeah, I'm here. Don't talk, save your breath.
Logan looked over his father's injured body, wounds, cuts and bruises all over him, he's not fully trained in the medical side of their job just yet but he knows enough to know this doesn't look all that good for Bruce, he still did everything he could, reaching into his belt and using an injection they created that clots up the blood nearby, so when you inject it near a wound, it will pretty much close the wound till you can get medical attention, if they had then Logan would have known Bruce's injuries are far beyond just on the surface.
Bruce: Listen... I need you... to listen...
Bruce could see Logan starting to panic, Bruce has tried to prepare him for this moment all his life but it has never been easy, how do you prepare your son for your own death, outside of their crime fighting family it would have been difficult, trying to do it while keeping him safe as he could really wasn't easy but now he hasn't got a choice, Logan needs to be ready.
Logan: Just let me help you.
Logan's so confused and panicked that he can't see that even with the small amount of medical help he's already giving to Bruce, there is still no saving him, he was really put through the ringer by Ra's this time and he's not walking away from it, Bruce knows that and even, deep down so does Logan but he is still a boy and doesn't want to lose the only family member he has left.
Bruce: ... Stop, there's no time. It's already too late...
Bruce's left hand weakly grabbed his right when Logan tried to put pressure on a wound, it was no use, there is no stopping the blood, Bruce needs to make sure that Logan will be okay after this, he didn't have a chance to say his final words to his father and Bruce won't miss the opportunity to give his final to his only blood son.
Bruce: ... Listen, Gotham needs something to fear. If they think the Batman's gone...
Logan already understood that if Batman isn't around, all hell could break loose, there's no telling who or what will come crawling out the cracks left behind from the impact of Batman's death, or disappearance, Bruce needs to make sure they can work together as a team to keep Gotham safe no matter what happens.
Bruce: ... Take this...
Logan looked over to his right hand to see him trying to reach for his cowl, only he couldn't reach it without moving and every time he tried to move it would just be next to agony for him, so Logan made things easier and reached to grab it himself, it's destroyed, broken in half like it was nothing, Logan's only seen Batman's cowl broken like this once before so seeing it again, seemed to click how serious this situation is.
Logan: What? Is this meant for Dick? Duncan maybe? Hell, what about Nick? He's more ready then I am.
Logan seemed to pick up what Bruce was trying to say but he can't be Batman, he's barely been Red Robin all that long, Nick's the same age as him, they pretty much grew up together but even Nick's been fighting crime longer then Logan, Bruce was too worried about letting Logan out there, everyone thought it was because he might get hurt but Bruce had his reasons.
Bruce: You were always meant for this... I just didn't think it would happen so soon...
Bruce should have trusted Logan when he was younger to become a Robin but he was too worried, not from Logan getting hurt but for him hurting others, Bruce knows who his mother is, she still asks about him all the time but he can't know, not yet, he has to find out through time and then maybe he'll understand why she couldn't have been here for him, because she wanted to be, she really, really wanted to be here.
Logan: I can't be Batman.
Logan's starting to realise that this is the end, that no matter what, his father's going to die right here, there's only one reason he'd give over his cowl and it's because he can't be the Batman anymore, Logan was trying to be strong in this moment but he's failing, his lips quivering and his eyes threatening tears, Bruce would normally scold him for showing his emotions but even he's getting a little torn, not from dying, he's never feared that but leaving Logan this unprepared, he's hoping Logan can do the right thing.
Bruce: You can. You just needed the little push...
Bruce was going to say how proud he is of what Logan's managed to do in his life, Bruce has never had to train someone to punch lighter then they can before, kick lighter, if Logan wanted to, he could probably kill someone with one blow and that's what Bruce was worried about, someone with his strength can be dangerous, so he was worried, but Logan's adapted well and can keep a lid on his abilities
Logan: What do you mean...?
Logan wasn't sure what Bruce was talking about while looking down to the Batman's mask, he's picturing Dick or even Duncan fitting this better then he would but when he didn't get a response from Bruce, he looked to him, Bruce's eyes have finally closed and he's stopped breathing, Logan didn't believe it though.
Logan: ... Dad?
Logan dropped the cowl and reached to Bruce's shoulders, gently rocking him trying to get him to wake up, maybe tell him he was joking, sure it's not really Bruce's game to joke and play around but maybe this was going to be the one time he would, Bruce isn't playing though and has died, Batman is dead.
Logan: Come on, don't leave. Not now...
Logan's strength and ability to hold it all together quickly disappeared, he knew Bruce is dead but he just doesn't want to believe it, he needs him to be alive, now more than ever, he's not ready to be Batman, he's not ready to be on his own, sure he'll have the others but this is his father, laying dead in front of him because he wasn't quick enough.
Logan: ... You want me to train? I'll train, just tell me and I'll do it. Just say something...
Logan missed that the others finally managed to catch up, Dick Grayson wearing his Nightwing gear, Duncan Blake wasn't out patrolling so he's just in his casual clothes, Anne Winters quit as Batgirl a couple years ago, she profers sitting by a computer anyway, Cassandra Cain, the new Batgirl, she doesn't say much but she does spend a lot of time with Logan and Nick Crosby, Bruce's youngest adopted son and latest Robin, excluding Logan.
Logan: ... Please...
They all watched to see Batman, Bruce, their leader, guardian, the man who gave them all a family, laying dead, Logan's doing everything he can to wake him up but Bruce is gone, not seeing anything else left to do, Anne rushed towards the teenager, pulling him away from Bruce and embracing him into a tight hug, Logan didn't hug her back, or fight her off, he just cried to the loss of his father staring down at the Batman's cowl in his hands...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They didn't want to wait too long before laying Bruce to rest, so a few days after his death, in a "gas explosion", they're all standing in the rain, staring at a picture of Bruce while he laid in the box, Logan hates that they lied about Bruce's death, if they told the truth, Ra's Al Ghul murdered him then the League of Shadows would be running scared, instead they put it down to a gas leak.
Jacob: Many of you knew Bruce from Gotham's celebrity pages, a handsome, charming billionaire... and, he was that...
Logan stood front and center with Alfred to his left, Logan's the last Wayne left now, there is no one else, just him, Alfred has helped raise Logan like he has Bruce all those years ago, Alfred will help Logan as much as he can, almost like nothing has ever changed, Logan hasn't said a word either since Bruce's death, days without anything other then hums and grunts.
Jacob: ... But, he was more than a headline. He was my Nephew. He was a friend, a mentor and benefactor to those of us gathered here today. Maybe most importantly, a father...
Logan felt a hand on his shoulder at that moment and new it was Dick, Dick's always been the supportive older brother to them all, not just Logan, Duncan, Nick and Anne are with Cassandra in the crowd gathered here, it was nice to see that people did care about Bruce, if they knew he was Batman maybe this might have been a bigger turn out but the fact Licious and a few high-ups at Wayne Corp are here, meant something.
Jacob: ... And to those of you who didn't know him as we did, I want to tell you this: Bruce was Gotham. He loved this City more than he loved anything...
Logan sighed while he stared at his father's coffin, no boy should ever see his parents die, Bruce witnessed his mother and father killed all for a few bucks, Logan's now watched his father die because of Ra's, Dick, Duncan, Anne and Alfred has expressed concerns about Logan and how he's going to handle this, Duncan thinks he's gonna go full guns blazing, not literally but Anne and Dick are a little more worried, Logan worshiped Bruce, he meant the world to Logan, this might not go how they are all expecting.
Jacob: ... He was a protector to this city. He worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring justice and equality. There's nothing he wouldn't do - no project he wouldn't champion, if he thought Gotham would benefit...
Logan didn't really know Bruce in the corporate world, he actually actively tried to keep Logan away from it, not that Bruce didn't want him involved, but he wanted to keep Logan close and as safe as he could, it even took a lot to convince Bruce so Logan can actually go to school, if it wasn't for Anne and Alfred arguing his case, Logan might not have the friends that he does, all here today to support him in the best way they can.
Jacob: ... And I think in remembering that. We remember Bruce as he truly was.
Alfred stepped out from beside Logan, Logan didn't even glance for Bruce's coffin as Alfred approached it, gently resting his hand onto the coffin, three Wayne's have now been murdered whilst in his care, sure he was only the butler to Thomas and Martha but if he parked closer to that movie theater then who knows what would have happened.
The service ended with everyone going home, everyone except Logan, he stayed behind ignoring the pouring rain, just looking at the fresh earth covering Bruce's casket, the tombstone engraved with messages but that didn't matter, Logan's already confused on what to do, Bruce has only been gone a few days, this isn't going to be a smooth ride...
