[ Chapter Twenty-Five ]

Everything seems to be going well until an alarms suddenly started going off. Adelina looked at Rey who in turn looked at Han.

"What's going on?" Adelina asked.

"You're the real pilot." Rey said back to her.

"This isn't my ship!" Adelina argued.

Sparks suddenly erupted and Adelina winced.

"Electrical overload!" Han remarked.

Rey jumped up, "I can fix that."

"The coolant's leaking!" Han remarked.

Adelina stared at Rey as she told her father what to do. Adelina had obviously worked with planes for a long time and had grown up playing aboard the Falcon, however she didn't know this ship like the back of her hand like her father did. And apparently, Rey was also a fantastic pilot which Adelina wasn't going to deny, made her a little jealous.

Adelina had lived in the shadow of Poe Dameron's superior skills and now she was being overshadowed by a girl she'd just met. Granted, the girl had been very helpful in getting her and Finn off of Jakku and she was very nice but still.

Adelina got up and headed for the lounge where Finn was struggling with Chewie who was howling in pain.

"I've got this Finn." Adelina walked over to him.

"No, I'm. I'm okay." Finn responded.

Adelina shot him a look and sighed, "I've known Chewie since I was born, Finn."

Han yells from the cockpit, "You hurt Chewie, you're going to deal with me."

"Hurt him? He almost killed me six times!" Finn yells and Chewie grabs him. Finn's eyes fill with fear, "Which is fine."

"Chewie!" Adelina says in a shocked voice and places her hand on him, "It's okay. You're going to be fine."

Finn moves out of the way pretty quickly and lets Adelina take his spot. Adelina calms Chewie down getting him to sit.

The alarms suddenly stop and Adelina breathes out a sigh of relief before yelling to the cockpit, "What happened?"

Han comes walking in and goes over to his daughter and Chewie, "Your friend is really something else."

Adelina scoffed and shook her head before standing up, "Yeah she's pretty good." Adelina rubbed her temples and moved away from her dad to go sit at the chess table that Finn was currently fiddling with.

"So, fugitives, huh?" Han asked them as Rey came and stood behind Finn.

"The First Order wants the map." Rey told him, "Adelina and Finn are with the Resistance. I'm just a scavenger."

"A scavenger who is a pretty damn good pilot." Adelina interrupted.

Rey gave Adelina a small smile and Adelina couldn't help but smile back.

Finn turned the chess set off and Han looked at BB-8, "Let's see what you got."

BB-8 looked at Adelina and Rey for confirmation and Adelina smiled at the droid, "Go ahead."

BB-8 rolled forward and projected a holographic map which fills the whole room. Everyone starts to pay attention. Adelina leans forward looking at the map curiously.

Han moved through the map before looking at them, "This map's not complete. It's just a piece. Ever since Luke disappeared, people have been looking for him."

"Why'd he leave?" Rey asked.

"He was training a new generation of Jedi. One boy, an apprentice turned against him, destroyed it all. Luke felt responsible. He walked away from everything." Han responded.

Adelina bit her lip from retorting back to her dad. Her brother was the one who had turned against him. She didn't know if it was entirely his fault, which she hoped was not the case. She had never wanted to think that he was capable of all the horrible things that she'd heard.

"Do you know what happened to him?" Finn asked.

"There are a lot of rumors. Stories. The people who knew him the best think he went looking for the first Jedi temple." Han told them.

"The Jedi were real?" Rey asked, looking amazed.

Adelina nodded.

"I used to wonder that myself. Thought it was a bunch of mumbo-jumbo - magical power holding together good, evil, the dark side and the light." Han answered and sighed, "Crazy thing is, it's true. The Force, the Jedi, all of it. It's all true."

Another alarm rings and Han goes over to the switches. BB-8 cuts off the hologram and Adelina gets up and stands next to her dad.

"Where are we?" Adelina asked her dad.

"We're gonna meet an old friend." Han told her.

"Someone I know?" Adelina asked.

Han gave her a look, "Yeah."

Adelina gives him a confused look but nods. She looks over at Chewie who stands up to go with Han to the cockpit but Han motions for him to lie back down.

Han looks at Rey and Finn, "Okay. You want my help? You're getting it. Gonna see an old friend. She'll get your droid home. This is our stop."

Rey and Finn glance at Adelina before following Han. Adelina drops into the seat beside Han, taking Rey's original spot as the co-pilot. She stares out the window as the Falcon drops out of lightspeed. The planet emerging before them is a beautiful green planet that Adelina doesn't remember ever visiting but maybe it was when she was younger.

Rey's eyes fill with tears as she leans over Adelina to look out, "I didn't know there was this much green in the whole galaxy."

Adelina looks over her shoulder at Rey and smiles sadly at her, "It's beautiful, huh?"

Han looks at the two of them and smiles.

The Falcon crests over a green forest and reveals a castle on a lake. Adelina's eyes widen and she turns to her dad, "You brought us to a castle?"

The Falcon lands near the castle among dozens of worn, small freighters. Adelina unbuckles her seat as soon as they land and pulls Rey up from her seat to lead her outside. Adelina practically runs off of the Falcon and breathes in the fresh air, however Rey stares at everything in awe.

She grins at Adelina after a minute and then steps down to stand beside her, "It's beautiful."

"I know. The planet the resistance base is on looks like this. I hope you'll get to come and see it." Adelina smiles at Rey.

"I have to go back to Jakku." Rey tells her sadly.

Adelina's smile falls, "Well, as long as I'm alive, you'll always have a place with me. Just remember that."

Rey's eyes light up at that and she gives Adelina a small smile, "Thank you."

"You're welcome!"
