Chapter 2 - Training

---2---

We followed Sensei to the centre of the training grounds, where we'd ha our first ever assignment as Team 7.

'This place sure brings back memories,' Sakura breathed.

'Yeah,' Naruto sighs.

'Sure does,' I mumble. Sasuke. You should be here with us now.

Soon, we were all in an emo corner, I think we all had the same thoughts...

Kakashi Sensei sweat-dropped.

'I see Sasuke is still a bit of a touchy subject...' he trailed off. I looked up at the clouds, being blown along by a soft breeze.

'Come on, let's get on with it, shall we?' I said, narrowing my eyes. Suddenly, my comrades were at my side and ready.

'Good. I think you guys know the drill,' Kakashi Sensei smirked from under his mask. He reached into his back pouch and pulled the bells out, all three jingling noisily.

'Take these bells from me,'

'And if we don't come at you like we mean to kill you,' Sakura started.

'We'll never get them,' Naruto finished.

'Easy,' I smirked.

We all got into our fighting stances, waiting for Sensei's orders to make the first move, when suddenly, Naruto decided he'd had enough.

'Enough waiting around! Let's go!' he yelled, lunging at Kakashi. I face palmed. Kakashi hadn't even said for us to start yet and Naruto was already getting ahead of himself. It was deja vu from our first battle training with Kakashi. Naruto had once again taken matters into his own hands.

Naruto flung some shiruken at Kakashi, which Sensei avoided by ducking. Without a split seconds thought, Kakashi Sensei flung his own shiruken, which hurtled towards Naruto, who had leapt up into the air.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto called, before a clone appeared at his side. The clone grabbed the real Naruto's jacket sleeve and tugged him aside, avoiding Sensei's own attack. Naruto landed, grabbing his clone's hand.

"Transform!" he chanted as the clone transformed into a larger, stronger shiruken. Naruto hurled it towards Kakashi but failed to do so, as Sensei had already sprung into action and caught Naruto in a body lock before he could attack.

"Not so fast," Kakashi smirked from under his mask. Naruto chuckled to himself and I smiled. Nice timing there, I thought as the clone appeared behind Kakashi, a kunai to his back.

"Heh!"

"Alright, you've improved a lot. But there's still a way to go, I didn't say start yet....anywho, when you're ready...START!" Kakashi Sensei disappeared into a cloud of smoke, causing Sakura and Naruto to both sweat drop. I shook my head, sighing.

"Nice job baka! No where'd he go?!" Sakura yelled. Naruto backed off.

"Hey! I had him alright!" he argued back. I shook my head, and knelt down, placing my hands flat on the ground. I closed my eyes and shut out all the distractions around me. I could feel the vibrations in the ground, I could not only feel but I could hear the steady beating of Kakashi Sensei's heart under ground. I stood up, and nodded to Sakura, who was checking all the possible angles that Kakashi could've attacked from. Finally, she came to the same conclusion as I did, and before long, she pounded her powerful fist onto the ground, causing the earth to crack and uproot. Sensei lay completely baffled among the rubble, while Sakura smirked.

"Found you," she said.

"Alright, now it's my turn," Kakashi said, running at us again. Naruto lunged forward ready to punch him but Kakashi leapt over him and raced off into the forrest. I pouted in frustration. I needed to get in a few hits.

I raced in after him, taking care not to follow him exactly. I could easily catch up to him if I wanted to. Instead, I had to lay low and launch a surprise attack. No doubt he'd be expecting it from me at some point, but it was worth a try.

I stopped for a moment, again kneeling down and trying to figure out where he was. I didn't need to look any further, as I heard him breathing in the tree tops above me. I quickly hid, not wanting my plan to flop. I heard Naruto and Sakura approaching, and they too hid, although they made their wherabouts pretty obvious. I raised an eyebrow as they 'hid' in clear sight of Kakashi. But he seemed to be a little off guard, like his focus was out. I bit my lip and began perfroming hand signs. I felt the blood trickle from my mouth, so using my thumb, I wiped it away and drew a circle on the ground with a line through the middle.

At once, a small amount of smoke appeared and before me sat a pair of silver chain shackles, each one had a red engraving on its front. The engravement was of the moon, with a chains wrapped around it. Underneath a message in Latin was writen: "Abi in pace" which meant "Depart in Peace". I slipped the shackles on over my wrists, securing them shut, before running ahead after Kakashi, who had now taken off at a high speed. I gritted my teeth as I ran after him, a breeze blowing past me as I too, gained speed. I kept up my pace, quickly gaining on him. I narrowed my eyes as I noticed a sloped rock to my left. I ran up it and leapt off, ready to attack. Kakashi must've heard me approaching as he turned to look behind him. His eyes widened in shock as I flew past.

"You're mine!" I yelled, throwing my arms back. I heard the sounds of the chains unwravelling, so I thrust my arms forwards, the chains and shackels all flying directly for Kakashi. He skidded to a halt and raced off in another direction. I landed on a smaller rock and used it to push me off again. I flew through the air after him, my eyes narrowed and focused on Kakashi. This time I would get him...

"Now!" I yelled, once again throwing my arms back and forward, sending the chains flying. This time, the chains came to life as I channeled my chakra through them. They glowed and bold blue colour as they caught Kakashi and wound themselves up around him. Kakashi's eyes widened and he gasped.

"What's this?!" he yelled. I narrowed my eyes, smirking.

"My own jutsu, my own technique," I answered, clenching my fists. The chains immediately tightened, completely restraining Sensei. I lifted both hands up slowly before lifting them to the left. As I did so, the chains transported a tightly bound and bewildered Kakashi Sensei and held him captive against a tree. I lowered my hands but the chains held, securing him to the tree. I walked over as reached for one of the bells that hung from his side when all of a sudden, I heard Naruto yelling.

"AAAAAIIAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIII!!!!" he yelled at the top of his lungs as he lunged at the tree. I sweat dropped as he collided with Kakashi and the tree, resulting in a huge cloud of smoke. I covered my face as splinters of wood flew in all directions. I coughed as the dust began to clear. I growled under my breath to see empty chains, a beat up shadow clone and a log from a substitution jutsu laying in the dirt.

"Damn it, I nearly had him!" I mumbled to myself. I looked at my brother's shadow clone before it disappeared in a cloud of smoke before stretching out my hands and balling my fists in front of me. The chains all rushed back into the shackles and I dusted myself off.

"Naruto?" I called out. "I think I had him that time!"

Feeling a little bit annoyed that my brother had stolen away my small chance of retrieving one of those bells, I pushed on further. I heard commotion up ahead and I raced up a tree, right up to the top to see another collapsing just ahead. I heard Sakura yelling and I could feel powerful shock waves travelling through the ground and down through the tree's roots. Shortly a fireball appeared. I was almost certain that that was one of Kakashi Sensei's attacks so I raced on ahead, keeping above the ground.

As I went, one thing kept tumbling through my mind. How the heck did he breathe fire without burning that stupid mask of his? Kakashi logic. I sighed and pushed on, itching to retrieve one of the bells.
