Kasumi’s POV

I dragged myself out of bed, my foot throbbing again. When the others had gone, Sasuke and I had made our way over to the hospital.

We sat nervously in the waiting room, waiting to be called in so we could get it done and over with. Sasuke glanced at me and smiled. I smiled weakly back at him. I clenched my fist and bit my lip as the pain got worse, maybe it really was broken?

‘Kasumi Namikaze?’ the nurse called. I nodded and pushed myself up. Sasuke ran to my side and helped me hobble through to the nurse’s room. He sat me down and stood beside me while the nurse took a look at my foot.

‘Well, it seems that it is badly fractured, but, also it seems that it could’ve been worse if you hadn’t put a splint on before you came...’ I blinked, how did she know? I looked up at Sasuke.

‘I thought it was just a sprain when she first injured it, so I put a splint on for her,’ he replied. The nurse smiled and nodded.

‘Ah, good thing you have such a caring boyfriend!’ she cooed. My eyes widened. BOYFRIEND?!

‘Oh no! He’s not my boyfriend!’ I started

‘She’s just my friend!’ Sasuke argued. The nurse chuckled to herself.

‘Alright, alright, but it’s a good thing your friend knew what to do,’ the nurse smiled. I sighed as she began rummaging down her drawers.

‘Well, we’ll get you a cast and a new splint fitted,’ she smiled.

I limped out of the hospital, Sasuke at my side. There was an awkward silence between us all the way home. I had some ramen and then I went straight to bed. That was a long day...

I heard a knock on my door.

‘Come in!’ I answered. Sasuke slid the door open; he had a serious look on his face.

‘Sasuke-kun?’ I asked. He looked down at the floor.

‘The Hokage wants to see you in his office. Immediately,’ I froze. The Hokage? I stood up and rushed forward, tripping in the process. Sasuke’s eyes widened and he rushed to catch me.

‘Arigato, Sasuke-kun,’ I whispered, shakily. He smiled softly and helped me back onto my feet. I blushed hard as I found myself staring into his dark eyes. I mentally slapped myself out of the trance. Pull it together Kasumi! The Hokage wants you in his office, now! I pulled away from him blushing ruby red.

‘I’m gonna get ready, I won’t be long, okay Sasuke-kun,’ I nodded as Sasuke left. I quickly pulled on my usual white zip-up t-shirt and blue ninja pants. I pulled on my Dad’s old fleece and rushed out of the room. I bumped into Sasuke who had been waiting outside the room the whole time. My face was just inches away from his...

‘Kasumi?’ he asked. I stepped back slowly.

‘Yes?’ I answered.

‘I need to ask you something,’ he said slowly. I blinked, worried.

‘What’s wrong Sasuke?’ I asked, my voice shaking.

‘Well um, you know yesterday at the hospital...’ I nodded slowly.

‘Yeah?’

‘Well, I’ve been thinking...’ there was a knock on Sasuke’s door. He growled and walked over to the door. I gasped to see an ANBU agent standing at the door. She had long dark hair and she hid her face with the ANBU mask, she wore the original ANBU uniform.

‘I’m here to escort you to Lord Hokage’s office,’ the ANBU stated. I blinked. An ANBU, escorting us? Something bad must’ve happened. We followed her out and Sasuke helped me walk again.

‘What were you gonna ask Sasuke?’ I whispered. Sasuke shook his head and growled again. I sighed. We made it to the Hokage’s office. Sasuke was ordered to wait outside while I was lead towards the door. The Old Man croaked out some orders and the door slid open. I was shocked to see Naruto sitting before him. What was Naruto doing here?!

I was lead in by the ANBU and sat down, near Naruto. The ANBU bowed and left the room, closing the door behind her.

The Hokage stood up and walked around his desk.

‘I am very pleased that you could both make it here so early, and at such short notice, but I have some important news that will affect the both of you...’ the Third started. Naruto put his hands behind his head and pulled a face.

‘Hurry up old man, we don’t have all day!’ Naruto whined. I shot him an angry look.

‘Naruto-kun! Respect Lord Hokage!’ I whispered. Naruto sighed and apologised. I smiled weakly and turned my attention back to the Third.

‘Recently, I have been watching over you two and have also monitored you both closely. But recently, we have done some...test...and it turns out that those tests both had shocking results,’

I leant forward, Naruto followed, narrowing his eyes at the old man.

‘Well, what did the results say?’ Naruto asked. The Hokage sighed.

‘This will come as a shock to the both of you, but...’

‘Hai?’

‘Naruto.........Kasumi is your younger sister,’ the Hokage said.

Silence filled the room; you could’ve heard a pin drop. My eyes widened and brimmed with tears. No, he was lying! That’s impossible; Mom and Dad had never mentioned anything about me having an older brother! I was shocked and scared, how could this be true.

Naruto turned his head to face me and I saw the tears rolling down his cheeks too. I looked at him and he looked back at me. Suddenly he leapt up and ran over to me. He dropped to his knees and flung his arms around me. My eyes widened as I felt my arms wrap around him and pulled him into a big bear hug. I sobbed into his shoulder but he stayed silent.

‘Wow, I never realised that this is what it feels...to be loved by someone...’ Naruto whispered. I pulled away and found him smiling to himself, I smiled at him too.

‘I’d never have thought that I had a brother,’ I smiled to myself hugging my brother again. That felt nice to say, my brother. I’d use it as often as I could.

The Hokage smiled at us and dismissed us. Naruto hugged me again and we headed out the door. We walked out and found Sasuke staring at us, horrified. Oh kuso! I’d totally forgotten about him!

‘Hey Sasuke, guess what?’ Naruto began, grinning. Sasuke glared at Naruto.

‘What?’ he spat. I stopped Naruto before he could say anything.

‘Leave it to me Naruto,’ I whispered. Naruto sighed and nodded, disappointed that he wasn’t the one to bare the good news to Sasuke. I limped over to Sasuke and looked him in the eye.

‘Sasuke-kun, are you alright?’ I asked, noticing something strange.

‘Kasumi-chan, I really have to talk to you...’ he mumbled. I tilted my head to the side.

‘Tell me!’ I begged. Naruto walked over and stood next to me.

‘Tell her what?’ he butted in. I smiled at Naruto and he put his hands behind his head.

‘Not for you to know loser,’ Sasuke growled. I flinched, it was bad enough Sasuke being mean to Naruto before I found out that he was actually my brother but it’s even worse now that I know.

‘Sasuke-kun!’

‘Actually Sasuke, it is my business, she is my younger sister after all!’ Naruto poked his tongue out. Sasuke froze and glanced at Naruto, then me, then Naruto, then me and on and on and on (I think you guys get it). Sasuke shook his head.

‘Funny Naruto, funny, what do you expect from the Class Clown?’ Sasuke said. I pouted and stood between them.

‘Stop it you two! Quit arguing over something so stupid. Yes Sasuke, Naruto is my older brother, that’s what the Hokage wanted to tell us...are you mad Sasuke?’ I asked, noticing Sasuke’s blank expression. I looked down sadly.

‘No, just...shocked. I never thought anyone as amazing as you could be related to a loser like him,’ Sasuke growled. That was a little harsh to Naruto! But wait? What had the Uchiha just say about me??

‘Kasumi-chan, you’re gonna have to move out of Sasuke’s place now,’ Naruto grinned.

‘What!? But where am I gonna go?’ I asked. Naruto rolled his eyes.

‘With me sis! Duh!’ Naruto laughed. I smiled weakly. But I didn’t want to leave Sasuke’s place, it had already felt like home to me.

‘But Naruto, I like staying at Sasuke’s place...’ I whispered. Naruto’s face fell.

‘Kasumi-chan, we’re family though!’ Naruto said, playing the guilt card. I pouted, I couldn’t win, and family should always come first.

‘Sasuke...’ I began.

‘It’s alright, I understand Kasumi-chan,’ Sasuke interrupted. I smiled weakly at him.

‘Well, I’m gonna go get your room ready for later, okay Kasumi?’ Naruto said excitedly. I grinned, a bit excited myself. I watched my big brother run off and left Sasuke and I alone. I gave Sasuke a small smile and he returned it, making me feel a little less guilty for leaving him.

We headed back to his, just to get the few things that I had so I could drop them off at my new home with my brother. I was just packing away when Sasuke came in.

‘Sasuke!’ I smiled. He smirked a bit and walked to my side. I felt his eyes on me as I packed. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore, something was bothering the Uchiha, and when an Uchiha is bothered, you know about it.

‘Kasumi,’ he began before I could say anything.

‘Hai, Sasuke-kun?’ I asked. Sasuke didn’t reply for a second.

‘You know yesterday at the hospital? Well that nurse thought that I was your boyfriend,’ he chuckled to himself. I nodded slowly.

‘Well, what I was actually trying to tell you earlier. No wait, ask you, earlier, is...did you wanna try going out...?’ he asked. I turned my head and faced him. He was scratching the back of his head and looking down, blushing slightly scarlet.

‘I mean it’s alright if you don’t, I just thought that...’

Before he could finish his sentence, I’d flung both arms around his neck and buried my head into his chest. He tensed but then relaxed, wrapping his arms around my waist.

‘Is that a yes?’ Sasuke asked, chuckling. I nodded, still buried in his chest, taking in his smell of...Uchihaness...

‘Of course Sasuke! I’d love to!’ I said excitedly. I looked up at him and found him smiling like he’d never done before.

‘You know you’ve just made me the happiest Uchiha alive Kasumi-Akane Namikaze?’ he whispered...
