Jin's company lasted longer than I expected them to, meaning my time spent out on the balcony with Era mainly was in silence. We made minor conversation, but nothing ever grew to anything detailed. I was careful of this. Era stood up from one of the balcony chairs and walked over to the door. "Where are you going?" My lips seemed to move faster than my thoughts, but curiosity got the best of me.

Era's eyes wandered about before answering. "I was going back inside for a while."

"Do you not like my company?" I got up and walked over to her, closer than I wanted to be, but my body seemed to have a mind of its own.

She shook her head nervously, "no, I don't want to take up any of your time. I don't know when you're leaving, and Sarin will..."

"Why would I leave?" I moved a little closer to her. Oh right, she doesn't know I live here. What a surprise this will be for her.

Era frowned a little. The creases in her forehead seemed to work with diligence to figure out how to proceed. "Why wouldn't you? Are you and Jin close enough for you to stay here sometimes? I remember you said you didn't have a home." She recalled.

"Something like that." I kept my response brief. She doesn't need too much information.

"Have I ever given you a reason not to trust me? You don't have to be rude to me. I let you sleep in my home, for God's sake, and I don't recall getting a thank you."

I glanced over at Era, surprised by the fire in her glare. The unicorn is not all sunshine and rainbows, huh? It thrilled me a little to see her like this. The twitch in my dick told me it thrilled something else, too. I got the urge to press her, to see how much I could rile her up. She's becoming quite entertaining now. "Lady, I didn't ask for your fucking rescue. Why didn't you leave me the hell alone?"

The familiar hitch in her breath resonated in the surrounding air. Her lips trembled as she covered her face and slung open the balcony door, bolting inside as if she couldn't get away from me any quicker.

Fuck!

I grunted, hearing the commotion between Jin and his friends questioning her. Before long, Jin joined me on the balcony-stare blazed in wonder and booze. "What happened out here?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes and left him standing there. Ignoring the glares from Jin's little friends, I grabbed my bike keys from the counter. I didn't get far as I spotted Era pacing down the sidewalk. She was walking in a hurry-which meant I've upset the little kitten. I've offended her more on occasions than this one-why was she so upset now?

"Hey!" I called, but she ignored me. It seemed as if her pace had gotten quicker. "You should slow down." I continued strolling my bike along the sidewalk.

She kept walking and wanted no part of me, but I guess I can see why. Maybe I was harsh, but it was another theory I was testing. I like these brief experiments, but she's pissing me off, and I don't like being ignored. I'm a walking double standard, but I don't give a fuck.

Turning my bike onto the sidewalk, I stopped her in her tracks. "W-What are you doing?" She stuttered with a slight sniffle.

My chest tightened seeing this. I'm getting sick of this shit, whatever it is. "Look, stop crying, alright?" She sniffed again, keeping her gaze low to the ground. We will get nowhere sitting here. The following string of thoughts in my head was like a stab to the eye. I don't know what I'm thinking, and it felt fucking weird. Leave it to me to get mixed up in some shit, and I won't be able to get myself out.

"Get on." I'm sure that came out more abrasive than it sounded. Era stared at me, tears shielding her eyes, making my stomach do strange things as if my organs were flipping inside out.

She didn't move. She stood there, staring. Ugh, why? I wish she would get the fuck on so my chest doesn't crumble. "Don't you want to go home? You would get there quicker if you came with me." I offered. Bad choice of words. Very fucking bad. My mind was as dirty as my mouth. Perhaps dirtier.

I never took my eyes away from her, and I swore I saw a smile on her lips. She inched over to me, lifted the lid to the compartment on my and grabbed my helmet. "Get off and wear this." She smiled.

She's lucky she piqued my curiosity. Otherwise, I wouldn't let her get away with this. Anyway, I obliged, just like I have been doing.
