Sookie and Rosé were sitting in the couch, drinking coffee in the living room when they heard the explosion and felt it shake the Orphanage.

"Not again" Sookie muttered, sighing as she stood up.

Rosé stood up as well, grabbing Sookie's arm with both hands as the two wandered towards the door. Sure enough, there stood Jaehwa with Nia and Kijung standing on either side of her. Nia had her bow and hate-inducing arrows, shooting them at random. 

"She's causing others to create the chaos" Rosé sighed.

"Taehyuk! Get our guests! They can help us out if they want" Sookie growled as she began to shift.

"Right" Taehyuk rushes upstairs, but Felix and Chan are already at the top of the steps.

"We heard the commotion" Chan's eyes were red and he was already shifting, his sharp jagged teeth and long claws already growing.

"Sin, Kyunnie, you can help get the kids the safety" Felix instructs then turns to Jisung and Minho, "you ready big bro?"

Minho just nods, and Taehyuk moves out of the way to let them pass just as another explosion shakes the building.

"Fuck, what is going on out there!?" Jisung cursed, wincing.

"Chae Nia" Rosè grumbled, "nothing but trouble, massive trouble. She's what you would call the anti version of cupid. Her arrows cause hate to fill the hearts of anyone they manage to hit, and it's caused alot of extremely destructive riots in the past"

"Then let's go deal with her" Chan growled out.

Felix went to follow, but Chan held out an arm and shook his head.

"Chan-" "No Felix" Chan smiled softly, "remember, I'll be the strength. I'll fight, but I don't want you fighting" "Chan, you know I can take care of myself-" "Felix" Chan spoke with a leveled tone but there was an edge to it, "please, I don't want you in danger again, and I don't want you stressing out anymore. Let me, let us take care of this for you"

Felix glanced around, hesitating but he nodded anyway, "I'll help Kyunnie and Sin-wait, where's Jae-won?" Felix let go of Chan, glancing around with worried eyes.

Felix heard a faint scream, they all did, and Chan was the first to run outside to see a sight that he really didn't want to.

It was Hyunjin, holding a struggling Jae-won.

"Hyunjin, let her go!" Chan exclaimed.

"He's not going to listen. Look at him" Jooheon whispered.

Chan took a good look at him, or rather his face. Black veins ran up his neck and his eyes were pitch black, but his expression showed absolutely nothing. Sookie barged past a stunned Chan, growling low in her throat.

"Let the child go or you'll pay with your life" Sookie snarled at Hyunjin.

"She was in the way" Nia spoke up, shrugging her shoulders, "there's nothing you or anyone else can do"

Felix wanted to help, but Chan held him back still.

"Felix go, go help Changkyun and Joosin. Stay safe, and stay out of this" it was Minho who spoke up this time.

Felix growled, turning and walking away. However, he was stubborn; he rushed up to the room he, Chan, Minho and Jisung stayed in, and he climbed out the window and up onto the roof.

He briefly felt his horns protrude from the top of his head, his eyes changing to black and red, and his teeth turned sharp and jagged. He was angry, furious even. He was one of the strongest hybrids out there, one of the rarest.

This was an opportunity to show them, to even show himself, that he was strong enough to fight. Felix turned around, looking down at everyone from the roof.

"Let. Jae-won. Go. NOW!" Felix's voice was terrifyingly demonic and sounded as if it was echoing.

Nia smirked wickedly, cackling.

"Make us, little Hybrid" Nia spat.

"Don't talk to my brother like that" Minho snapped, grabbing out his weapon which was a very sharp longsword.

Jisung had shifted into his Incubus form, ready for a fight. They were all ready for a battle, Nia eager to show off her prowess, until...

"Stop this nonsense!" A familiar voice boomed.

"Seokjin" Chan growled, his eyes flashing red.

"I told you" Jaehwa scoffed.

Kijung mocked Jaehwa, Nia snickering st her boyfriends actions.

"Stop creating such a pathetic scene, and let the little girl go. They're too late anyway" Seokjin grinned.

Hyunjin instantly let Jae-won go, the young hybrid running straight over to Rosè and gripped onto her skirt like a lifeline.

"What are you talking about!?" Felix snapped as he jumped down from the roof, landing in front of Chan, "too late for what?" Felix growled, still fully formed.

Jooheon and Rosè felt dread settle in the pits of their stomachs, and they shared a look.

"Oh no...oh my g-Felix, look" Minho pointed over to their right with wide, disbelieving eyes.

Felix looked over to where Minho was pointing, and was shocked into silence. They were basically surrounded, and they were now faced with a terrifying reality...

The dead had come back to life

Y'all may be waiting a bit for the next chapter I'm aftaid. Inspiration for this story has been dwindling for months so this may not go for as many chapters as the previous D9 books 🤷
