(5) SWEETNESS IN SERIOUSNESS
Play time is an inevitable part of our lives. When destiny plays with us we have to pass that phrase of our life crossing obstacles. When we play for delight we pull out an opportunity to cheer and capture some good moments.
For spending quality time, Subhadra and Swastika were playing with their brothers. They were playing hide and seek. Balram and Swastika were teamed up on one side while Kanha and Subhadra on other side.
After playing for sometime the outcome was Swastika found Kanha, and Balram was caught in hand of Subhadra.
"It was decided that winners would get gifts. So, it's time to grab our gifts," an excited Subhadra was rubbing her palm.
"We don't have any gift right now. We will get those for you," Kanha raised his hands showing he had nothing.
"No, we want it now itself," Swastika demanded.
"Try to understand, sisters. For now, we don't have anything," dau too repeated Kanha's words with a convincing look unlike Kanha.
"We don't want anything, Dau!" Subhadra's mysterious smile was indicating that the gift was something different from materialistic stuff.
"We want a promise," Swastika wasn't seeming like her normal self.
"What promise do you want?" Dau asked.
"We want the promise of being together forever. We don't want to part away from each other," in a slow voice, Swastika put forward her wish.
"What's the matter, Swasti?" Going near to Swastika, Dau cupped her chin, gently.
"I heard that girls had to leave maternal home and family after marriage. Even, some women in palace were saying that after marriage people changed," children put their thought into the new fact they discover, and that was the case with Swastika.
Subhadra too had discovered the same fact, but her calmness, the divine calmness didn't allow any chaos in her mind. Swastika wasn't a divine entity. That was why she became anxious.
"You are thinking too ahead, Swasti. Don't stress yourself," raising his hand, Dau roamed that on Swastika's hairs.
"Yes, you are thinking too ahead. It's dau's turn to get married. Before him how could you think about your......," Kanha threw a teasing smile, but couldn't complete further noticing dau's fake glare which could turn into real one if he said anything.
"Marriage bring changes in priorities since they are subjected to change. Our love is like a constant, and constant never changes," dau focused his gaze on Swastika, and gathered best explanation to give his fullest in consoling her.
"What about girls leaving home after marriage?" This question got no explanation till then.
Dau looked at Kanha, seeking his help through eyes. Dau was affectionate while consoling yet he couldn't tackle questions after a limit. For that, he had to look for Kanha.
"It's a social custom, but can't create crack in relationships. You really don't need to think about this, Swasti!" Kanha broke his silence at dau's silent insistence.
"I mean look at Subhi! how cool she is! She follows the flow, and takes her stand when it's necessary. It's the art of living life," listening Kanha, Swastika looked at Subhadra whose smile held a serenity to be an inspiration to each kind of stability.
"I am sorry. I have bothered you all," Swastika lowered eyes in guilt.
"Don't be sorry, Swasti. We are glad that you have shared your thought. It's a good action, and never stop doing this," dau's appreciation restored back the appearance of smile on Swastika's face.
"So, we aren't going to get any gift!" A sweet interruption sounded from Subhadra's side.
"Of course, you both will get the gift. I am promising to be the strength and of support of my siblings always," assuring siblings, dau uttered his share of promise.
"We are also promising to love and trust our brothers always," Subhadra and Swastika too did the same.
"I am promising to have a life with my siblings always. If we don't get the chance to live with each other then.....," Kanha halted, holding everyone's breath back.
"Then we will merge into each other for living a life with each other for forever," he chuckled making his siblings join him.
"How does the process of merging feels like?" Subhadra's carefree curiosity cheered the scenario.
"Something like this," Saying so, Kanha pulled Subhadra into hug, and it became a group hug when Balram and Swastika wrapped their arms around.
Siblings's love had filled the scenario which was capable of making many smiles blooming together at that sight.
