"Why is she so stubborn?" Rudra moaned, clutching his head in his hands. Aayush fell beside him on the couch, engulfing him in a bear hug.
"It's okay! You're trying, Rudra!" Aayush assured him, caressing his back.
"Will she ever change, again, for good?" Rudra whispered, parting from him, palming his face.
"She will! Don't worry, now!" Aayush said patting his arm.
"Go and get ready! We'll go to her Boutique as she's been there from Morning." Rudra simply nodded his head, taking a rest from the stress, caused by the girl he ever loved.
It's been a week since Rudra tried talking to Maya, that day in the call. After she's cut the call chiding him, Rudra tried some new things to convince her, which included, Sending her flowers daily with a Sorry card, calling her daily only to get scolded by her, and another thing he's been doing is, driving all the way to Maya's house, parking his car, thinking hard to go to her or not, eventually returning to their flat with Ayush.
Well, now, Rudra Roy is getting ready for the scolding session by his darling girlfriend, Maya, tagging his best friend along.
"Aayush! I'm ready!" Rudra yelled from the living room, waiting for Aayush to grace the place with his presence.
"Ta tada..." Aayush sang as he stood in front of Rudra, who slouched on the couch, busy on his phone. Averting his gaze, Rudra glanced at... Oh oh... A bouquet! Aayush peeked his head from behind the bouquet, grinning ear to ear.
"Yaar Aayush!" Rudra heaved a faint sigh. "Not anymore. I can't!" He announced, shaking his head, in disagreement.
Aayush's face adorned a frown as he placed the bouquet on the coffee table, with utmost care as if it's a newborn baby.
"But, why?" He questioned Rudra wiggling his brows.
"She'll slam my head with this same bouquet if I go and gift her this, today. All these days, we didn't know what was she doing with these. And let it be that way. C'mon! Let's go!" Rudra dragged him, dismissing the topic.
It's been fifteen minutes, Rudra driving them to Maya's bouquet which is a minimum of half an hour from their place. Thanks to the Mumbai traffic, it'll take another 40 minutes for them to reach their destination.
"This traffic... Huff..." Rudra sighed as frustration ran through him. He ran his fingers through his tousled curls, looking here and there, after pulling the breaks at the red light. As he's moving His hazel orbs all around the people, there he caught sight of a lean figure, randomly, walking on the footpath.
Before he lay his eyes on that familiar posture, again, she got away, in just a blink of an eye. He was startled as she felt like someone he knows. Someone... She felt like... Harini! His brain reckoned and then went blank. He tried searching for her in the crowd, but of no use. He doesn't even know how many minutes passed like that until Aayush shook him by the shoulder.
"Where are you even lost?" Aayush glared at his blank face.
"Rudra!" Aayush yelled in his ears, bringing him back, again.
"Uh, um, nowhere!" He concluded before accelerating the car.
Is it really, Harini? No way, she's dead! Calm down Rudra, you're stressed for the past few days and seeing her everywhere! That's it! Rudra inhaled and exhaled deeply as he reckoned everything as his hallucination.
Trying to refresh his mood, Rudra played some songs in their car which were kept playing until he halted his car in front of Maya's boutique. He glanced at Aayush who assured him, blinking his eyes and patting Rudra's shoulder.
"I'll park the car and come! You go!" Aayush said as both of them got out of the car. Rudra just nodded his head as a blank face, which didn't suit him, appeared in front of Aayush. Shooking his head, Aayush bumped his fist with Rudra's forehead.
"Hey silly! You're my Rudra yaar! C'mon! Brace yourself and go inside, like you do every time, confidently." Aayush prompted his friend, settling himself in the driver seat.
Rudra couldn't help but nod his head like a sheep, which made Aayush let out a chuckle.
"Kamine, you'd know this if you had a girlfriend!" Rudra screamed at him, pinching Aayush's arm.
"Oww... Saala, if you're girlfriend is tough, that doesn't mean every girl is!" Aayush said fleeing away, leaving a smiling Rudra behind.
"You know how to make me smile, Aayush!" Rudra smiled to himself sheepishly, whispering under his breath.
As he stepped inside the boutique, there's so much commotion going on, inside, as the assistants of Maya were rushing here and there, talking something gibberish, or perhaps they can understand.
Rudra couldn't help but feel pity for the poor girls, who're being blamed without their fault. That's Maya. She vents out all her emotions on her assistants.
"Rudra Sir?" There, someone called him in a faint tone. Craning his neck, he glanced at the only girl he appreciates in Maya's whole team. The reason is, her being the only girl who didn't drool over him.
"Hey, Tejaswi! How have you been?" He asked her as she stood in front of him, with a tab in her hand, looking into it through her nerdy glasses and peeking at him, in between.
"Busy, Sir, as of now!" She replied glancing at him and then at some designs.
"I think I can see that!" Rudra said peeking into her tab. His statement made her snap her head at him, as a smile etched on her lips.
"Sorry, Sir! It's been a few days, right, since Mam didn't see any customers! So, it's been hectic since morning! Anyways, let it be! You want to meet Mam?" She questioned him, correcting her glasses.
"Yep!" Rudra said, shoving both hands in his pockets.
"Mam's in her cabin!" Gesturing him to the cabin, Tejaswi made a move but rooted in her tracks as he stopped her.
"Wait a sec!" Turning around, she wiggled her brows at him, who stood there, hesitated.
"Yes, Sir?" Tejaswi waited there patiently despite the rush she's in!
"How's her mood?" He whispered, nearing her.
"She's burning in anger, to be honest! As you're here now, can we hope you can cool her down?" She asked him after informing him about her mood, with a smile.
"I hope I can reach up to your hopes, Tejaswi" Rudra muttered but Tejaswi who heard this glanced at him weirdly.
Before she can ask any questions, Aayush came from behind, tapping his shoulder.
"You're still here?" He questioned him staring at Maya's cabin and at Tejaswi, who's trying to comprehend the entity beside Rudra.
"I was about to go! Come!" Rudra said tugging at Aayush's wrist.
"You go! I'll be here, waiting for you!" Aayush replied to him, taking his hand away from his grip.
"Aayush..." Rudra glared at him, trying to scare this guy so that he can accompany him.
"Aree yaar! It's all between you and your girlfriend! Don't involve me, okay!" Aayush said throwing his hands in the air while Tejaswi chuckled at this dramatic creature.
"Aayush..." "Sir, that is the waiting area!" Tejaswi said, intervening with Rudra, pointing towards the couch in the waiting area.
"What's going on here? This isn't your home, Tejaswi, to chill with your long-lost friends! Back to work!" Maya said sternly, startling everyone with her sudden presence.
"Ma... Maya, it isn't her fault! We were just..." "Didn't You hear what I said? Or you want to get fired?" Maya warned her, sternly, intervening with Rudra, taking long strides towards them.
"Sorry, Mam!" In a matter of a few seconds, Tejaswi disappeared from the place where she couldn't get caught by her boss.
When Tejaswi was out of sight, Maya made her way back to her cabin, followed by Rudra, pleading with her, asking for her Apologies, as always.
Sighing in relief, Aayush sat on a couch with his mobile in his hands.
"Maya... Maya, please listen to me! I am sorry, yaar! Maya..." "What sorry, Rudra?" Maya screamed on top of her voice, startling Rudra, who rooted in his tracks.
"What Sorry, huh? Do you even know what I'm going through?" Maya yelled as tears pooled in her eyes.
"Maya, please, don't cry! I can't see you crying." Rudra said staring at her, concerned, stepping towards her, who stepped back.
"YOU know what you are doing to me? I'm even hallucinating things these days as I was so much into all the things that happened in the past yaar!"
Maya stared at him, weird and confused! Rubbing off her tears, she sunk in her chair, palming her face.
Rudra sat in front of her, tight-lipped, expecting his girlfriend to say something!
That's when she started it! Venting her inner turmoil!
"I loved him, Rudra..."
The End.
Hellow, Peeps and that is all for now. Hope you liked it and see you next. Bye.
