Hellfire/Blue Lightning Part 2

Valt's POV
This has got to be the weirdest day in my entire life. First I turned into a complete psycho and threatened the entire world with a storm. Then I somehow ended up on the roof of Beigoma Academy. My chest started sparking, and I turned completely blue. And to top it all off, I was in God-knows-where, hugging the physical memory of my best friends to my chest.

Staring at a glowing version of me, holding a sword.

That was probably the weirdest part.

The duplicate version of me stared for a while, not even blinking. When it finally spoke, it sounded like a hundred people speaking at once. "Tell me, Valt Aoi; why do you fight me so?"

This was getting creepy. Somehow this thing knew my name, and it obviously wasn't going to leave me alone. "Tell ME, Mr. Blue Guy, what you want with me!"

"I'll answer your question once you answer mine," My duplicate shot back, sounding annoyed.

I didn't care. I was going to annoy them all I wanted until they broke down and told me. "I don't want this! I don't even know WHAT you are!"

"I suppose it makes sense that your mother never told you about your heritage..."
My... heritage?

When I had no rebuke, the glowing version of me smirked. It was enjoying making me squirm. "In that case, please, let me tell you a tale."

"Uh, I'm not in the mood for a..."

"Long ago," They talked over me; bossy. "A man known only as the First Spinjitzu Master created a world separate from the one you call home. The land your ancestors knew as their home: Ninjago.

"When this world, along with its sixteen sister realms, was created, the First Spinjitzu Master also created twenty Elemental Powers - powers that controlled a different aspect of the natural world. Energy, fire, ice, lightning, earth, wind, water, metal, smoke, amber, speed, mind, shadow, light, poison, form, speed, nature, gravity, and time. He gave the Elemental Powers to twenty people, people he trusted. Those twenty people became known as Elemental Masters. They used the powers to keep the balance of good and evil in Ninjago." They spread their arms dramatically. "I am one of those twenty elements. The Element of LIGHTNING.

"Since my creation, and the creation of my elemental siblings, hundreds of generations of Elemental Masters have passed. With us, they have defeated countless tyrants; crossed into many worlds. The true meaning of strength has been discovered over and over again. Friends and enemies have been made.

"When the world of Ninjago grew too small for them, they came to this world. Your mother Chiharu was my last Master."

Seeing the look of confusion on my face, they quickly explained, "If you're wondering why she never told you about your family's legacy, the answer is simple: she didn't want you to know. When you were merely a toddler, you accidentally called on me by instinct. But I was too much for your young body, and you were greatly injured. Have you ever wondered where that scar on your cheek came from?"

Self-consciously, I fingered the mark on my left cheek. Scar? It was a birth mark. Wasn't it...?

"After the incident, Chiharu sought to put a block on me to make sure you, her precious son, never got hurt by the consequences of using me ever again. But now that block has broken.

"Now that I am no longer contained, I can now fulfill my purpose: to serve the new Master of Lightning." A smile crossed their face. It was meant to be soothing, but I only saw it as mocking. "We can do great things together, Valt Aoi. I can give you access to anything you desire. If... you accept me." They held out their hand, expecting, hoping.

If this thing thought I was just going to break down and hand my entire life over to it, boy, did it have another thing coming. "How many times do I have to tell you, NO?" I yelled at them. My voice sounded flat in the horizon less world we were in. "I don't want this! I just want to go home to my friends!" Tears pricked my eyes. I hope they saw; maybe they'd feel bad and let me off the hook. "I just want everything to go back to normal!"

At first, it looked like the tears worked. The thing (sorry, the element) had a look on its face that resembled pity. Then they sighed, and said something that threw all my hopes of things going back to normal out the window.

"I apologize, Master Valt. I should have explained further. Your input in this matter is meaningless. The block is broken, so now I thrive in your soul unrestricted. I have eight years of catching up to do with you, and I do not intend to waste them by waiting idly in your subconscious. My purpose is to serve you, and I will. So like it or not, I am yours, and you are mine."
