Piano Keys... (Orochi Ginba x Zac the Sunrise)
Fingers pressed the keys to a piano, a soft melody playing throughout the large room. Orochi counted the beats in his head, tapping his foot slightly as he continued playing.
Music. One of the few things that can help him escape the hell of everyday life. Another being Omni Odax, the second half to his duet. The brown-haired male played the final notes to one of his favorite songs, one written by his best friend, they ringing through his ears. He sat back, cracking his fingers and stretching out his arms, yawning slightly.
"I didn't know you play piano." A familiar voice called in front of him, making him jump slightly. He looked over the piano, his gray eyes meeting the teal eyes of Zac the Sunrise, his best friend and teammate.
"Oh. Yeah, I've been playing since I was four." Orochi replied, moving to face the idol better. Zac hummed, walking farther into the room and leaning against the piano.
"I see... Was that one of my songs that you were playing?" The blonde asked, his eyes full of joy and wonder.
"It was actually. One of my favorites too."
"And you can just... Play any song by ear?" Zac asked again. The brown-haired blader nodded, making him grin widely. "Orochi, that's incredible! You're really talented!"
A faint blush crossed Orochi's cheeks, he giving the excited male in front of him a soft smile.
"Thanks Zac. That really means a lot." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Say, you and I should do a duet sometime! With your piano skills and my voice, we'll shine bright together!" Zac suggested, his eyes sparkling like stars.
"We can do one now, if you want. I don't have anything else planned right now."
"Spectacular! How about we do that song you were just playing? It's one of my personal favorites too!" Zac asked, his smile widening. Orochi shrugged, cracking his fingers again.
"Why not?" He said, his fingers hovering over the keys. "Ready?" He asked, the blonde idol nodding immediately. His fingers pressed the starting keys, beginning the song.
"He's the boy that no one ever knows...
And I say hi, but he's too shy to say hello..." Zac sang softly, his voice echoing in the room. "He's just waiting for that one to take his hand and shake him up, I bet I could..."
"I wish my heart was always on his mind...
'Cause he's on mine like all day all the time..." Orochi sang after, surprising the teal-eyed male. "Forget me not. Forget me now, I've come to far to turn around.
I'm here tonight..."
"'Cause I'm never going down, I'm never giving up.
I'm never gonna leave, so put your hands up.
If you like me, then say you like me."
"I'm never going down, I'm never giving up.
I'm never gonna leave, so put your hands up.
If you like me, then say you like me."
"Woah oh oh.
Woah oh oh.
Woah oh oh.
Woah oh oh."
"He's the boy that no one ever knows.
Works a double just to buy him clothes.
Nicotine and faded dreams, baby just believe there's no one else like me."
"'Cause I'm never going down, I'm never giving up.
Never gonna leave, so put your hands up.
If you like me, then say you like me."
"I'm never going down, I'm never giving up.
I'm never gonna leave, so put your hands up.
If you like me, then say you like me."
"Woah oh oh
Woah oh oh
Woah oh oh
Woah oh oh."
"It's time to fall into my arms.
'Cause I've been waiting far too long."
"You're an angel.
Grab your halo, and let's fly.
Tonight."
"'Cause I'm never going down, I'm never giving up.
I'm never gonna leave, so put your hands up.
If you like me, then say you like me..." They finished together, the final notes echoing as they stared into each other's eyes.
Zac grinned widely, throwing his arms in the air with enthusiasm.
"That was amazing Starlight!" He squealed, not realizing what he said. Orochi cocked an eyebrow, smirking at the slightly taller male.
"Starlight?" He asked, making the blonde idol stop and look at him, his cheeks flushing pink.
"O-oh. Um... W-well..." The teal-eyed male stumbled over his words, a deeper blush burning his cheeks. Orochi chuckled, grabbing his things and standing.
"You're too cute Zac." The musician said with a chuckle. The bubbly Spin Emperor tilted his head at the statement, his cheeks, if it's even possible, flushing a deeper red.
"Y-you think I'm cute?" He asked, the brown-haired male giving him a soft smile.
"Well, yeah. Who wouldn't?" Orochi replied, making Zac fumble with his fingers and his words. The slightly smaller male patted his shoulder, walking towards the door. "I'll see you at practice later, 'kay?"
"Y-yeah! See you at practice." Zac replied.

"Is it possible to fall in love with your best friend?" Zac asked when he met up Akira later that day.
"Yeah! Actually, that's how most relationships start out. As friendships." The other idol responded, smiling at the blonde. "Why do you ask?"
"Because... I think I'm in love with Orochi."
"Oohh! Isn't he on your team? That's so cute!"
"Shh! No one else needs to know!" Zac hissed, dropping his voice to a harsh whisper.
Akira kept quiet, but kept freaking out, giggling like a fangirl. He smiled brightly, looking at Zac with shining eyes.
"When are you going to confess?! You two would be cute together!" The pink-haired male asked excitedly.
"I'm not sure yet. But it'll be soon. Maybe after practice." The Sunrise replied, his voice oddly monotone. "I'm nervous though... He may not like me back."
"I doubt it! You two are perfect for each other!" Akira squealed. Zac smiled slightly, the sparkle returning in his eyes.
"I'll see you later. I've got to get to practice." The teal-eyed male said moving out of the room.
"Good luck! Can't wait to hear all about it!" Akira called back to him, waving at him.
Zac walked to practice, wearing the mask that 'conceals' his looks. He had his hands in his pockets as he thought about what to say to Orochi.
'What do I say to him...?' He muttered in his thoughts, his eyes focused on the ground. Thoughts of doubt and rejection consumed his mind, making him shake his head. 'Don't let the thoughts get to you Sunrise... Don't let this knock you out of orbit...'
~~~
"There you are!" Freddy said when the others seen their captain walk into the room.
"We were starting to think something happened to you." Bowie said after, making Zac dismiss it with a wave of his hand.
"I'm fine. I was just clearing my thoughts when I lost track of the time. Now, let's get to practicing!" Zac replied, giving his concerned teammates his usual smile.
Orochi stayed against the wall, his headphones on and his eyes closed as Zac and Mick started a battle. Beys hit the stadium floor, the brown-haired musician noticing a strange sound. A strange sound from Zeutron.
'That's not like him... Usually his sound is perfect. What's with the change?' He thought, peeking an eye open when he heard Mick's bey clatter to the ground.
"Alright, who's next?" Zac asked, picking Zeutron up from the stadium floor. "Come on now, don't be shy."
Freddy and Bowie spared each other a look, debating which one of them would go next, but Orochi stepped up to the stadium. Zac smiled at him, a bit of heat rising in his cheeks.
"How about it Orochi, shall we get started?" The blonde idol asked, readying Zeutron in his launcher. The brown-haired musician nodded, a small smile gracing his lips as he did the same.
"You know, I heard a strange sound coming from your bey." Orochi said, getting into his launch position.
"Have you? That sounds so ominous." Zac replied, doing the same. The slightly smaller musician gave him a smile, making his captain flush red and look down.
The taller male stayed lost in his thoughts as they battled, thinking about the problem he was having about confessing his feelings. Zeutron hit the floor with a clang, making teal eyes widen as he gasped. He looked down at his bey that laid in front of him, glancing back up to meet Orochi's gray eyes.
"W-what? But, I never lose my concentration..." The teal-eyes male said, picking his bey up off of the floor.
"There's always a first for everything Zac." Orochi replied, picking up Odax. Zac hummed, looking at his bey before looking back up and smiling at him.
"Is that so? Insightful and illuminating... Thank you Orochi!" The bubbly Spin Emperor said. "What do you say, one more time?"
~~~
Zac stretched out his arms as he yawned slightly, walking through the hall after practice. Training went smoothly, to say the least, but the fact he allowed himself to get so caught up in his thoughts that he lost a battle, it's still eating at him.
"Yo Zac, you got a minute?" He heard Orochi say behind him, stalling his movements and turning to him.
"Sure thing! What's on your mind?" The blonde idol asked, facing him better.
"You seemed distracted earlier. What was with that?"
Damn it, he's trapped. Zac swallowed thickly, breathing in heavily as teal poured into gray.
"W-well- uh... I-I've been thinking..." He said softly, tearing his eyes from the gaze and directing them to the floor.
"About?" The brown-haired musician asked, taking a few steps closer to Zac. The Spin Emperor shook slightly, trying hard to mask the terror building inside of him.
"Well... U-us." Zac replied quietly, fiddling with his fingers.
"What about us? Have I done something wrong?" Orochi asked, concern flashing across his eyes.
"N-no! It's nothing you did, it's what I did!" The tall idol cried, waving his hands back and forth quickly.
"What?"
"I-it's a problem I've been having... I fell in love with someone, but I don't know how to tell them..."
"Well, as long as you're upfront about it, then everything should be fine."
"But they may not like me back! I'm scared because I fear I'll be rejected!"
Zac was starting to get hysterical, shaking and pacing at the thought of being rejected by his best friend and teammate. Orochi moved closer, reaching out to grab one of Zac's shaking hands, making him gasp and look at him with terrified teal eyes.
"Everything will be fine... Just calm down, 'kay?" The slightly smaller male said softly, his tone helping in soothing the panicking male. A small broken whimper emitted from Zac, his hand desperately grasping Orochi's as he crumbled to his knees.
Orochi knelt down in front of him, taking his free hand and laying it gently on Zac's cheek, stroking it with his thumb. The blonde's teal eyes met gray again, the brown-haired male giving him a small smile before leaning in and pressing their lips together. Sparks flew as their lips moved in sync, Orochi dropping Zac's hand and grabbing his waist. He pulled him closer so they pressed to each other, slightly shaking hands reaching up and wrapping around the gray-eyed male's neck.
Their lungs burned for oxygen soon, the two taking that as their cue to break apart and catch their breath. Teal met gray as they panted lightly, the bubbly Spin Emperor giving him a bright smile.
"W-well, guess there was nothing for me to worry about..." Zac said as his breath tried to level, his hands gripping Orochi's jacket tightly.
"So that's what got you so worked up?" The brown-haired musician asked, raising an eyebrow and smirking. Zac flushed a deeper red, laughing nervously.
"Er- well... It's hard when you think someone doesn't love you back..."
"Well I do. I have for a bit, but I never really thought about how to say it."
Zac smiled widely, resting his forehead on Orochi's.
"I love you too... Always have, and I always will... Like two brightly shining stars, we'll make a constellation." The blonde idol said, hugging him tighter. Orochi smiled softly.
"How about we get off the floor and go do something. Just you and me." He said, moving slightly. Zac looked at him and nodded eagerly, the two moving back to their feet. They set off, hand in hand to anywhere. To them, it didn't matter where since they would be together.
Like piano keys, they play in perfect harmony, like a soft melody to someone's favorite song. And love was their favorite song from there on...
