I Didn't Know... ~V1~ (Xander Shakadera x Ruwei Sun)

    “Xander, do you ever just have an… Off feeling?” Ruwei asked his partner as they laid together in bed. Xander, his red headed giant, looked down at him curiously, red eyes meeting grey.
    “Not really often, but yeah. Why do you ask, honey?” He responded, his large tan hand rubbing the small of his beloved’s back.
    “Well, that’s a kind of feeling I’ve been having. I don’t know why, but I can’t figure it out…”
    “Maybe it’s just nerves. We do have the annual Bey Carnival coming up within the next week.”
    “Perhaps…”

Ruwei didn’t want to leave it at just nerves, but he didn’t feel like fighting with his hot-head of a boyfriend over the matter. Just nerves…
    “Don’t stress, the carnival is going to be as lively as it normally is!” Xander grinned, nuzzling his nose into brown hair happily. “Valt and his friends are planning to come again this year, on better terms, of course.”
    “Is he really?” The Regulus blader asked curiously, sitting up slightly and wincing at the sharp pain he felt when he did.
    “Well yeah, he’s been coming for the past couple years. You should remember that, Ruwei.”
    “Oh… Yeah…” The smaller male drawled, yawning slightly. “Sorry, I haven’t been sleeping too well…”

Xander sat up with him in slight concern, rubbing his back.
    “Are you okay? You don’t look so good…” For once, his cheerful voice was replaced with a worried tone, watching his lover shift in discomfort.
    “No, I’m fine, I’ve just had some pretty nasty body pains for the last couple months…” Ruwei played it off like it didn’t bother him that much, but Xander knew better. The martial artist was always really good at hiding his feelings around the other members of SB Rios, but since they started their relationship, a certain redhead started chipping away his tough facade. And since he knew him better than everyone, Xander knew something was up.

He was good at that…

    “I’m fine Xander, I promise…” Ruwei told him, noticing his concerned look he gave him. The Xcalius blader frowned, knowing that was not true.
    “Baby, I think you should get checked out by a doctor.”
    “No, I’m fine.”
    “Babe-”
    “Please Xander, trust me…” Ruwei pleaded, his grey eyes holding discomfort as he spared a strained smile. The look caused Xander to sigh and, despite his better judgement, spared a soft smile as he agreed.
    “Alright… But if you get worse, I’m taking you to a doctor.”
    “Deal…”

The Bey Carnival started the next week, SB Rios being an obvious main attraction considering their status in the World League. As well as having two members of the Big Five on their team. Brazil cheered loudly for their beloved team as the float moved down the main streets, everyone on the team waving to the citizens. Xander stayed as close as he possibly could to Ruwei since he had been noticing him being in more and more pain as the days passed. It seemed especially bad today even though the smaller martial artist attempted to hide it.

As much as the brown-haired blader tried to play his pain off, it kept getting worse and worse as the day went on. It was almost crippling as he reached over and gripped Xander’s forearm tightly all of a sudden.
    “Ruwei?” The taller man questioned, growing worried the moment he looked at him. Sweat beaded at Ruwei’s forehead as he dug his nails into the arm he had a grip on, tears in his eyes when he looked up at him.
    “... H-help me…” He whimpered, it almost unheard because of all the cheering. Xander felt his heart leap in fear as his partner’s legs buckled, catching him in his arms and holding him close. Teammates noticed something wrong when Xander caught him, swarming the couple.
    “Xander, what’s going on?”
    “Is Ruwei okay?”
    “What happened?”

They were bombarded with questions and concerns, Xander gritting his sharp teeth together tightly.
    “Stop! Give room!” He growled in annoyance, lifting Ruwei up in his arms and hopping off the parade float, taking off. Calls and shouts from the team and citizens were heard and ignored by the tall man, focusing solely on the blader clinging to him in pain as he ran. His next stop?

The hospital…

~~~
He paced the waiting room anxiously as he racked his brain over what could’ve possibly been wrong with the love of his life. Nothing stuck out to him the whole time he thought, his eyebrows knit together in concern. Was Ruwei going to be okay?
He had no idea…
    “Mr. Shakadera?” A nurse called to him, breaking him from his thoughts as his red eyes looked over to her.
    “Yeah?” Was all he brought himself to say, his hopes up as his pacing stopped.
    “Follow me please.” She smiled warmly, beckoning him to follow. Xander walked over and followed her down a series of halls, his heart beating loudly in his chest. He had to be okay, there was no doubt now. They came up to a door and the nurse knocked softly, opening the door shortly after. “Doctor?”
    “Bring him in.” A male’s voice called, the nurse having Xander walk in before her. The first thing red eyes noticed when he walked through the door was the bundle his beloved held in his arms, tears on his cheeks and shock in his eyes. “You must be the father.”
    “... Father?” Overwhelming surprise coated his words, his steps stumbling to Ruwei who looked him right in the eyes.
    “Xander… I-I didn’t know I was pregnant…” Ruwei whimpered, moving the blanket in his arm slightly to reveal, indeed, a healthy baby.
A chubby, healthy baby girl in his lover’s arms, sleeping soundly.
    “Wha, huh? H-how?" The shock was justified in their situation, Xander sitting down in the chair beside the hospital bed Ruwei sat in.
    “Well, that’s something that we don’t truly know about, Mr. Shakadera. For nine months, your partner carried a healthy fetus without any symptoms or weight gain. It’s certainly a miracle.” The doctor explained, going over Ruwei’s charts and checking his vitals.
    “This is real? That’s actually our baby?” Xander asked, still in complete disbelief with the new information.
    “Yes sir, that’s your healthy baby girl. We’ll leave you two alone so you can talk things over.” The doctor and nurse both left, the couple now alone. Xander hardly took his eyes off of the baby, reaching forward and carefully petting her soft little cheek as his heart fluttered.
    “Xander?” His beloved asked him suddenly.
Red eyes reluctantly drifted up and met Ruwei’s grey eyes, they softening when he saw that he was crying.
    “I… I-I…” The smaller blader bit his lip and took in a breath, going to continue.
    “I love her…” Xander interrupted, leaving his chair and suddenly pressing his lips to his beloved’s. They pulled away after a minute and Ruwei sniffled, smiling at him.
    “I do too…”
Talk about a miracle~
