Your POV

You wake up to someone shaking your arm gently. After opening your eyes, you see your brother standing by your bed. 

"Shu, five more minutes," you say groggily. He chuckles and replies,

"You've gotta get up, Y/n. Come on, we're gonna be late to my match today." You sit up quickly, a smile on your face. 

"I almost forgot, Shu! Today's your big match against Wakiya!" You climb out of bed and pick out some clothes to wear, laying the outfit on your bed. Shu smiles softly at you before he walks over to the doorway. 

"Just don't take too long to get ready, okay?" You nod and Shu closes the door behind him as he exits your room. You place on your outfit: a pair of black leggings, a T-shirt, and your favorite pair of converse. Then, you throw your hair up into a messy bun and you go to the bathroom to brush your teeth. After you've done that, you go downstairs and meet Shu at the door. He smiles at you and the two of you leave the apartment, heading towards the tournament building. 

"Are you ready for your match?" you ask Shu. He nods once and then replies,

"I think that I can pull it off. But Wyvron is an opponent that we can't underestimate." You nod, agreeing with your brother. And you know how much Wakiya has been preparing for this match. Ignoring your thoughts, you tell Shu,

"I know you can do it, big bro." Shu smiles at you and says,

"Thanks, Y/n." You smile brightly and the two of you continue walking. 

*     *     *

You watch in disbelief from the top of the seating area as Wyvron scores a point against Spryzen by using Hyper Shield Crash. You feel bad for Shu, but that move was incredible! 

"The owner of Wyvron really knows what he's doing," you hear a voice behind you say. You turn around suddenly and see a familiar blader. 

"Lui Shirosagi?" You ask him. He frowns. 

"Yeah, that's me. Who are you?" You tilt your head and reply,

"You mean you don't remember me? The name's Y/n Kurenai." Lui's eyes widen.

"Kurenai? You don't mean. . ." You smile at Lui,

"Yep. Shu's my big brother." Lui smirks at you and goes back to watching the match between Shu and Wakiya. You watch as your brother switches launching hands and then as he knocks Wyvron out of the stadium. 

"So, Kurenai can do launches from both hands now, huh?" Lui asks. You nod before replying,

"He's been working on it for a while now. But once Shu is determined to do something, he won't stop until he's achieved his goal." Lui watches the look in your eyes as you talk about your brother. He smiles slightly at how much you care about him. You turn your attention back to the match as the third battle begins. Lui looks at you, noticing how beautiful you are. 

Spryzen uses Upper Launch and burst Wyvron. You jump up and exclaim,

"Yes! I knew he could do it!" Lui chuckles at you. You turn around and meet eyes with him. You stare into his violet eyes, getting lost in them. 

"Y/n?" He asks. You jump back, startled out of your thoughts. You blush deeply as you reply, 

"S-Sorry." He smiles at you before saying,

"It's alright." He looks back into your e/c eyes and you quickly look away, blushing again.

"O-Okay well, I'd better go and congratulate Shu. Nice talking to you," You tell Lui. He nods and says, 

"Here, let me give you my number. Then, we can text or something." You hand him your phone and he does the same to you. After you both put your numbers in each other's phones, you take back your phones. You wave at Lui as you walk out of the seating area and down to where Shu is. But you just can't seem to get a certain blue-haired blader off of your mind. 

You see Shu and run up to give him a hug. He turns around and smiles at you. 

"I knew you could do it!" You exclaim to him. He chuckles and replies,

"What took you so long?" You blush and reply,

"I, uh, met someone." Shu notices you blushing and wonders who it was that you had fallen for. He feels a little overprotective since he's your big brother. Nonetheless, he ignores it and continues walking with you. 

*     *     *

That night, you feel your phone buzz and you look at your messages. You have one:

Lui: Hey, I have a question

You: Sure, what is it?

Lui: Do you wanna hang out at the park or something tomorrow? 

You: Yeah, sounds great. What time?

Lui: Maybe like 10. Does that work for you?

You: Yep, see you then

Lui: Okay cool. Bye

You put down your phone and squeal happily. Shu bursts through your door.

"Are you okay, sis?" he asks you. You giggle and reply,

"The guy that I met today just asked me out on a date tomorrow." Shu frowns and asks,

"Who is this guy anyway? Do I know him?" You bite your lip and say,

"You may have met him before. You can see him tomorrow when he comes to get me. But promise me you won't freak out okay? Please?" Shu sighs and answers,

"Alright, I promise." You smile and kiss your brother on the cheek before saying,

"Thank you, Shu." He smiles at you as you skip around your room happily.

The doorbell rings and you run down the stairs quickly. The outfit that you have on is a long, off-the-shoulder shirt with a patterned skirt and a pair of black vans. Your hair is braided back. As you reach the door, you notice that Shu has already opened the door. 

"What are you doing here?" Shu asks. 

"Hey, I'm just here for Y/n," you hear Lui say. You blush slightly and walk over to the doorway. 

"Y/n, this is the guy you're going out with?" Your brother asks you. 

"You promised not to freak out, remember?" Shu sighs and gestures outside. You smile and thank him before heading out to meet Lui. You give him a quick hug before the two of you start walking to the park. On the way, you intertwine your hand with his. You squeeze his hand and you feel him do the same to you. 

Once the two of you arrive at the park, you and Lui sit down on a bench and talk for hours. After that, he asks if you want ice cream and your eyes light up. Chuckling at you, he goes and buys ice cream from a nearby vendor. When he hands you your ice cream, you thank him and eat the dessert quickly. He watches you with a smile tugging on his lips. He notices a bit of ice cream near your mouth, so he wipes it away with his thumb. His thumb hovers on your cheek for a while and then Lui leans in to meet your lips with his. You kiss back slightly and then the two of you pull away. 

"Wow," you say slowly. Lui smirks at you and then says,

"Your brother is going to freak." You laugh and reply,

"I don't really care what he thinks." Lui smiles and leans in to kiss you again.

By the time you get back home, it's almost five o'clock. Lui walks you to your door and you unlock your apartment door. You step inside and then turn back to say goodbye to Lui.

"Thanks for that. I had a lot of fun on our date today," you tell him. He smiles and then kisses you softly on the lips. He pulls away and then begins walking away. You smile and close the door behind you.

-Bonus-

You turn around and meet eyes with Shu. You realize that he had just seen the two of you kiss. 

"Shu, hang on. Let me explain," you plead.

"You kissed my rival?!?" He exclaims angrily. You run to your room, desperately trying to outrun your brother. 

Sadly, it doesn't seem like you're gonna make it. . .
