Your POV

You run up the stairs quickly, hoping to make it to the stadium before Shu does. Once you get to the training room, you sigh and say,

"Dang, I really thought that I'd beat you here today." Shu chuckles and replies,

"Y/n, I've been here for over an hour training." You cross your arms and roll your eyes before telling him,

"Well, that's just cheating." Shu chuckles at you again before holding Spryzen out towards you. 

"You're here to battle. So let's start battling," he says. You nod and pull out your Beyblade, b/n. Both you and Shu place your beys in their launchers and take your stances.

"3...2...1...Let it rip!" The two beys rush into the stadium. Your bey takes the center and Spryzen circles around it. You yell,

"B/n, just hold down the center. You've got this!" Shu smirks and places his hand out in front of him before yelling,

"Time to end this. Spryzen!" Spryzen rushes towards your bey and you hope that b/n will be okay. After the two beys make contact, yours is sent flying out of the stadium. You frown and pick up b/n off of the ground. Shu smirks and grabs Spryzen from the stadium. 

"Lucky shot," you tell him, "But we'll win the second battle." He smiles and the two of you get ready to launch again. 

"Kurenai, L/n, come quick," a voice from the doorway says. The two of you turn to the doorway and see one of your teammates. Before you can ask what's going on, your teammate is already running away. You look at Shu and shrug before the two of you go after him. You follow him down the stairs and into the lobby of the Raging Bulls headquarters. 

You push through all of the people gathered there to see what is going on. Once you make it to the front of the crowd, you gasp. 

"No freaking way," you say. Shu emerges from the crowd next to you and he asks,

"Is that...Free de la Hoya?" You cross your arms and stare at the number one blader in the world. Shu stares at him as well.

"What is he doing here?" You ask, annoyed. You hear laughter from in front of you. 

"Now, now, Y/n. No need to be so rude to our guest." You look up and see Theodore Glass standing there. Shu steps forward and asks,

"Why is he here?" The owner of your team chuckles and replies,

"I recruited him for our team of course." Your eyes widen and you ask angrily,

"You did what?" You glare at Free. 

"I want to gather the strongest bladers for my team and Free here is the best of the best. He'll make an excellent captain," Theodore explains. You glare at Free again before turning around and storming out of the room angrily. Shu glances at Free before he runs after you. Free, on the other hand, tilts his head and wonders what he ever did to you. 

"Y/n? You in here?" You hear Shu ask, knocking on your door. 

"Yeah, come on in," you reply. He opens the door and then closes it behind him. He walks over and sits next to you on your bed. You turn to your best friend and he asks,

"What's wrong?" You sigh angrily and reply,

"You can't see that having him here is a bad thing? What about all of us who worked so hard to be at the top of this team? Now, Free de la Hoya is going to come in here and be named the captain of our team. It's not fair." Shu nods and says,

"I understand why you're angry. But Theodore is right. Free will make a great addition to our team." You scoff and reply,

"Whatever."

-Time Skip-

The next day at training, you notice Free walk up to you. 

"Hey. Y/n, right?" He asks. You nod your head but continue glaring at him. You both stand there in silence for a couple of minutes before you ask,

"What do you want, captain?" Free notices your tone and questions,

"Why do you hate me so much? Did I do something to you?" You roll your eyes and point at Free.

"You came onto our team and get promoted to captain right away. Don't you know that all of us had to actually work for our spots on the team? Shu and I spent countless days and nights training just to get good enough to be on the main team for battles. But here you are, all mighty number one blader in the world. Don't think that you're better than us just because the owner took a liking to you. Soon enough he'll come across another talented blader and he'll forget all about you." You tell him angrily. Before Free can respond to you, you place your Beyblade in your pocket and walk out of the training room once more. 

Free is speechless as he watches you walk out. He knows that you had just yelled at him, but there's something about you that he likes. He then shrugs and gets back to training, but there's only one thing on his mind: a young blader with h/c hair and e/c eyes. 

-Time Skip-

You hear a knock at your door and you open it. Standing on the other side of the door is Free de la Hoya. You roll your eyes and ask,

"What do you want?" He tilts his head and replies,

"I wanted to apologize to you. I didn't mean to hurt anyone by joining this team. When Theodore Glass offered me a spot on this team, I just thought about giving BC Sol a chance to grow without me. I'm sorry for hurting you, Y/n." You take a deep breath and say,

"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have gotten mad and yelled at you over something that you can't control. You didn't choose to be the captain. I guess that I was just jealous that you got to be the captain and I've been trying to work at it for years to get there." Free smiles at you and then says,

"You're a cool person, Y/n. I really like you." He turns around and waves at you while he leaves. You watch him walk off, thinking about what he had just said. You smile, feeling warmth in your chest.

From then on, you and Free had gotten very close. The two of you hung out every day and were really good friends. And then, the moment you were waiting for arrived.

"Y/n, we've been really good friends for a while now. Will you date me?" You smile at Free and reply,

"Of course I will. Who would've thought that the guy I yelled at the second day that he came to our team would end up being my boyfriend?" Free kisses you on the forehead and says,

"I fell in love with you the first day I met you." You blush slightly because Free had said something as deep as that out loud and calmly. 

"I love you too, Free." You tell him. He smiles at you and pulls you in for a quick kiss on your lips.

You and Shu are training in the room with the bey stadiums. You notice Free come into the room and he walks over to you. He lies his head on your shoulder and you ask,

"What's wrong?"

"I need a nap," Free tells you, placing a kiss on your shoulder, "I was wondering if you would come take one with me." You blush slightly but reply,

"Okay." Across from you, Shu stares at the two of you. He awkwardly says,

"I'm, uh, gonna go now." He leaves and you lecture Free for putting Shu in an awkward situation. Nevertheless, you follow Free back to his room where the two of you take a nap together. You pull Free close, glad to have him as your boyfriend.
