"Hey guys, glad you could make it!"
BC Sol was hosting a New Year's Eve party in honor of the festivities. You didn't want to go, but Christina insisted you went.
She had artfully arranged your h/c hair in an elaborate braid around your head, and embellished it with a silver flower headband (if you have short hair, just pretend). You wore a f/c dress with crystal beading forming swirls on your dress.
She finished it off with a silver necklace with s/f/c gems on it. You reluctantly stepped into the main hall and sat down on the sidelines. The colorful lights and dancing bey club members didn't raise your spirits. You only had one person on your mind.
(Flashback)
You walked out of the bey club house for some alone time, and found a small clearing surrounded by trees and a small lake. You sat down near the edge and looked to the sky.
You were so deep in your thoughts that you didn't notice somebody was watching you from the trees.
Red Eye's POV
That girl. What was it about her that intrigued me so much? She's only one girl. She looked lonely, but the sunlight caught her hair and made it look so beautiful.....
I stopped in my tracks. What was I talking about? I don't even know her name! But she looked very interesting, so I walked towards her.
Your POV
You heard someone sit down next to you. You flinched and turned to punch the person, but were met by a hand catching your fist. "What were you hoping to achieve by punching me?" his voice asked.
You blushed deep red. You couldn't see his face behind his black and red streaked mask. You lowered your fist and looked away. He smirked to himself. "You shouldn't be out here on your own. Big bad wolves might be hunting around here," he said mockingly. You turned to him and said, "Why I'm out here is my own business, and I'm not a little girl." He scoffed, "With your size, you might be confused for one."
You gasped indignantly. "I'll have you know that I'm only 2 inches under the normal height."
"Still makes one hell of a difference."
"PRICK!"
"Shortie."
"Fuck you!"
"No thank you."
"You-wait what?"
He smirked. "The name's Red Eye."
"Y/n."
Timeskip
"Hey Red Eye," you called. He looked up at you. "What is it?" he asked. You took a deep breath in, and said, "Why don't you ever take your mask off? Why don't you tell me your real name?"
He stopped in his tracks. Why would you ask that? Did you really want to know? Should he tell you? Despite his whirlwind of thoughts, he only said, "Would you like to know who I am?" You nodded.
"Maybe someday."
(End of flashback)
You had met together there more times than you could count. Every time you saw him, your heart beat a million miles a second, and you grew nervous. You two had grown close to each other, and would meet at the clearing at least twice every week. You had a few close calls, but no one ever found out about you and Red Eye's clearing.
A thought hit you. The clearing of course! You got up and silently grabbed your coat. You stepped out into the snow, unnoticed.
You walked to the clearing in the snow. You hoped he showed up, that way you wouldn't feel lonely. You suddenly felt a pair of arms around your waist you turned to punch whoever it was, and were met by a black and red streaked mask.
"What's with you and punching people you meet in the woods?" he joked. You blushed red and turned around. "I'm sorry, did I injure you, your royal majesty?" you said sarcastically. He turned to see your outfit, and his eyes widened. Small snowflakes had found their way to your hair, making you look absolutely dazzling. The sight took his breath away.
He smiled and pulled you along. "Wasn't BC Sol having a party today? Why are you out here?" he asked as you walked to the clearing.
"I'm kind of a misfit, and I wanted to come out here with you," you said, your voice growing quieter. He blushed, and hoped his mask hid his blush. You wanted to spend time with him? He felt happy, and continued making conversation with you.
You both eventually found yourselves at the clearing, and saw the lake had frozen enough for you to step on it. You messed around, throwing snowballs at each other, making snowmen, skating on the ice, or just talking.
As you were running trying to escape from him while playing tag, you slipped and fell on him. "Oh, sorry Red Eye. I didn't me-" you stopped when you saw the position you were in. You lay on top of him, and your lips were centimeters away from his.
You stared into each other's eyes, and you could almost see his eyes behind his mask. On the other hand, he couldn't remember anything more beautiful than you. Your eyes were a deep shade of e/c, and your lovely h/c hair had fallen out of its braid, and mixed with his white hair.
He began leaning in, and you did as well, but before your lips could meet, he stopped himself. You realized your mistake and hastily got up, red staining your cheeks. "I'm sorry," you mumbled, looking away.
He was just as flustered, but his mask hid the fact. "It's fine," he mumbled, and once you looked away, he reached his hand to his lips, wishing he had pressed them to yours.

By the time it was almost midnight, he took your hand and pulled you to the frozen lake, and caught you in his arms. You were forced to wrap your arms around his neck as to not fall. The moon and stars shone brightly above you, causing light to fall on you both. You realized
He wanted to dance with you.
He laid his hands on your waist, and began to pull you along, using the ice as a dance floor. You were both silent, until you said, "Red Eye?" He hummed in response. "Don't you ever miss your loved ones? I'm sure it must be lonely being Red Eye. What about who you were before?" He thought for a moment.
"Yes, actually, I do miss someone. She's so beautiful and dazzling, that I wish I could see her everyday," he answered. Your smile faltered. He spun you around in a circle as your heart broke slightly. He loved someone else, not you.
Before you could stop yourself, you said, "Tell me more." You saw him smile as he continued dancing with you. "I met her in a small clearing with a lake. When I tried to be friendly for once, she nearly punched me. We met almost everyday since then. As time passed, I fell in love with her more and more. Her eyes are the most beautiful shade of e/c, and her h/c hair takes my breath away."
Tears were pooling in your eyes. He suddenly pulled you close, and his lips were hovering over yours. "Her name, it's the loveliest sound in this cruel, merciless world."
He said one word,
"Y/n."
With that he pressed his lips to yours. You immediately kissed back. Fireworks exploded, announcing the start of a new year. But you didn't hear any of those things. Only this moment mattered.
The kiss was soft and loving. Red Eye felt your lips moving in sync with his, and for once, he didn't curse the day he became Red Eye. Your lungs were begging for air when you parted, and his voice said, "I love you, Y/n."
You wrapped your arms around his neck. "I love you too Red Eye."
"Shu."
"What?"
He pulled off his mask, and revealed a pair of crimson red eyes and a scar over one. "My name is Shu Kurenai." You smiled, "Well then, let me correct myself." You pressed your lips to his again, and said,
"I love you, Shu Kurenai."
