🔬You weren't even trying for all that long...

🔬He knew you were pregnant before you even did

🔬Damn him and his intelligence

🔬You had wanted to surprise him, but noooooo

🔬Smart guy knows all

'Y/N are you feeling okay?' Naoki frowned, helping to steady you as you swayed on your feet after standing up.

'Yeah, head rush.' You explained, screwing your eyes shut in an effort to get rid of the tight feeling that encompassed your brain.

'Have you been getting any headaches or back pains lately?' He asked worriedly.

'I have, why?' You said, also beginning to frown. 'What're you thinking? You're using that voice of your's again. The one you use when your working on something in your lab.'

'How long has it been since your last period?' He asked bluntly, his attempt at being clinical ruined slightly by his pink stained face.

'Why is that...' You trailed off, eyes widening as you caught onto your husband's train of thought. 'Holy shit, I think I'm pregnant.'

🔬He books you an appointment with a midwife for later on that day

🔬But what point was there, really?

🔬Your husband was proved right, as per usual

🔬But this just made it official

🔬The two of you are having a baby!!

🔬And the feeling is indescribable

🔬There is literally a tiny little thing growing inside of you

🔬When Naoki pointed out the similarities between a baby and a parasite, you smacked him across the arm

🔬...even though it was kinda true

🔬Surprisingly, the midwife told you that you were further along then you thought

🔬About nine weeks or so

🔬It's the riskiest in the first 12- 14 weeks, but apparently even more so in weeks 4- 6

🔬So while you were still at risk, you'd unknowingly passed the worst of the worst

🔬It was a good thing Naoki had convinced you to start cutting things out of your diet in preparation for your pregnancy

🔬You weren't an alcohol addict or anything, but you did indulge in a glass of wine or two every now and then

🔬So things could've been bad if Naoki hadn't persuaded you

🔬Thank God for miracles, am I right?

🔬Or so you thought

🔬Fast forward to three weeks later and you were holding your stomach tightly and trying to breathe your way through a painful series of cramps

'Naoki?' You gasped out through the hot tears that were streaming down your face. 'What's happening to me?'

'I-' he broke off, unable to voice the horrific conclusion he had come to in the face of your pained expression. 'I don't know.'

'It hurts,' you breathed, shuddering violently. 'I'm scared Naoki, oh God I'm so scared.'

🔬You were bleeding and more terrified then you had ever been in your entire life

🔬 When you went to visit your midwife again, there was none of the excitement that you had experienced the last time

🔬The both of you already knew what had happened to your baby, and at this point you were just waiting for the final verdict

🔬Neither of you had ever cried so much in your lives

🔬It felt like a part of you had been shredded out of your very being

🔬How was it possible to hurt this much?

🔬The midwife is devastated on your behalf, but this isn't the first miscarriage she's seen, and most certainly won't be her last

🔬She has you lie down on the bed, as per medical procedure

🔬She puts this cold gel type thing on your stomach, needing to do a scan to see if there's any tissue that needs to be removed

🔬You remember how you were meant to have your first official ultrasound a while ago to confirm your due date

🔬You'd skipped it because your morning sickness was unbearable

🔬Back then you'd scowled at how misleading the name was, because it didn't just occur in the mornings

🔬Now you wished you'd went

🔬Naoki's holding your hand tightly when the midwife presses a white plastic tube to your belly and asks you to be quiet

🔬Confused, you both do as she says, while she holds up a small speaker like device

🔬And then you hear it

🔬A heart beat

'Vaginal bleeding can be completely normal during pregnancy,' she explained, giving you a bright smile. 'It's a thing called lag time, which can happen  around the twelve week mark before the placenta is fully formed.'

🔬You burst into tears

🔬I'm talking full on bawling

🔬Naoki takes off his glasses and buries his face in your hair, and you can feel his own tears dampening your hair

🔬The midwife, god bless her, steps out for you two to have a moment to yourself

🔬You can't even talk coherently

🔬It's like this huge weight has been lifted from your shoulders, and this soul crushing relief sets in

🔬Your baby is alive!

🔬From that moment on, Naoki is crazily overprotective

🔬You don't mind though, you understand why he's so afraid of something happening to you and/or the baby

🔬He always walks in front of you in public so no one bumps into your stomach, and refuses to let you sleep too close to the edge of your bed

🔬Heck, he even refuses to do any experiments in his lab that could be deemed as minutely dangerous

🔬Admittedly, Naoki is a little terrified

🔬It's easy to learn things from books and collected data, but there's only so much you can learn from information

🔬And babies are not logical

🔬Not really at least

🔬He's completely in the dark here

🔬And isn't that what makes it so much fun? You ask him when he tells you what's worrying him

🔬It's an entirely new human being, who'll have it's own hopes and experiences

🔬It's so beautiful and unbelievably unique

🔬When it comes time to getting to know the gender, you decide together to not find out

🔬You both want it to be a surprise

🔬Speaking of surprises, Naoki took you to get this done:

🔬But Naoki is so amazing

🔬Whenever your hormones go crazy, he'll take you into his arms and hold you close to him, hushing you and murmuring sweet words of comfort

🔬And he'll go out at any time if you're craving something you don't have at home

🔬I mean, he is so sweet you even shared your food with him

🔬And hey, that on its own would be a big enough feat, even if you weren't pregnant

🔬One day when you're out shopping, you buy your baby this, much to Naoki's amusement:

🔬Eventually, it happens

🔬And those cramps are back with a vengeance

🔬You feel something wet gush down your thighs, and you're terrified to look

🔬But you're so much further along this time around

🔬It's only the thought that this time you might be able to save the baby if you move fast enough, that you decide to look down

🔬And then you scream for your husband

'NAOKI?!' You screech, sounding like something akin to a bat out of hell. 'GET IN HERE NOW!'

He runs into the room, eyes blown wide, and looking more than a little frazzled at your demonic screaming.

'What? What's wrong?' He worried,  never having moved so fast in his life.

'My water just broke.'

🔬You were relived that it wasn't blood, but the clear liquid gave you fear for another reason

🔬Fear and excitement

🔬But holy shit you were going into labour

🔬The baby was on its way

🔬It was a lucky thing that you lived so close to the hospital, because your contractions were coming hard, fast and close together

🔬It only took a few hours before you were ready to push

🔬And fuck was this thing hard

🔬They say labour is a difficult thing for first time mother's, but this was through the roof

🔬It wasn't long before the doctor told you to stop

🔬The urge to push really was unbearable, so actually doing what he said took a monumental effort

🔬The umbilical cord had managed to get wrapped around the baby's throat, and whenever you pushed, it was strangling the baby

🔬You were horrified, but the doctor called for an emergency C- Section instead

🔬Which was also painful mind you, despite having been numbed for the pain

🔬After seeing what the doctors were doing to you, Naoki was eternally greatful that he had chosen to be a scientist

🔬He did cut the cord though

🔬And the doctor held up a screaming, crying, beautiful baby boy

🔬Naoki was the first to hold him while they stitched you back up

🔬It made you cry a little to see the starstruck look in your husband's eyes

🔬Happy tears of course

🔬The way he expertly cradled his son in his arms while whispering softly to him?

🔬You never wanted to forget that

🔬Neither of you has any names picked out for certain, only ones that you were fond of

🔬But after holding him for yourself, you knew the perfect name

🔬Little Sora Minamo

🔬He slept in a cradle beside your bed in the first few days back home while you and Naoki decorated his nursery

🔬The end result was amazing:

🔬The doctors did say you might struggle to fall pregnant again, but you had one little angel who was... Perfect

🔬And that was more than enough

I know you're all probably sick of hearing this from me by now, but I am really sorry for the lack of updates.

School is currently wrapping up for the year, which means getting report cards, projects and assignments back. Not to mention I'm going into year eleven next year and I only just got my subject selection forms back. Luckily I got all the classes I wanted, but there are two more that I want to add.

Speaking of school ending, that means I'll have six weeks worth of holidays, and hopefully more writing.
