In a barren location filled with white sand and craggy spires of blue rock, the shadows grow long over the desert, and two blobs of darkness rise from the shade into the air before bursting out of the clouds in the nighttime sky over Karakura Town. The two blobs reveal themselves to be invisible monsters that land on a riverbank running beneath a bridge below.

A woman can be seen, standing on top of a telephone pole nearby. Short and petite, a lady who has light skin and purple eyes. Her hair is black, with several strands of hair always hanging between her eyes. Her clothing is composed of a white shitagi, a black kosode, a black hakama, a white hakama-himo, a white tabi, and waraji.

"I sense strange spirit energy close by." The woman spoke as she jumped to another telephone pole before leaping toward the town below.

Unbeknownst to the women, a fox was watching the women before jumping into the bushes and vanishing.

"You got a death wish, pal? No one jumps one of my boys for no reason and lives to tell about it."

The following evening, at twilight, a man named Ichigo Kurosaki stands in front of five skateboarding teenagers, one of whom is lying on the ground, while a belligerent Toshi-Bro confronts him over kicking down Yama-Bro, who lies unconscious nearby, and telling them to get out of his way.

Ichigo's most distinguishing feature is his spiky orange hair, a trait he has been ridiculed about for years on end. He is a fairly tall, lean-built young man with peach skin and brown eyes. He likes to wear slim-fitting clothes. He tends to wear shirts patterned with the number 15 because his name is a homonym for the number.

Yama-Bro is a member of a skateboarding group of youths in Karakura Town. Yama wears a green beanie hat, a brightly colored t-shirt, and dark trousers. Toshi-Bro is a member of a skateboarding group of youths in Karakura Town. He is an average-sized adult. He has black hair and a mustache. He has dark pupils and several items of jewelry, including a gold nose ring, necklace, and bracelets. He wears trousers, a T-shirt, and a grey beanie hat. Mit-Bro is a member of a skateboarding group of youths in Karakura Town. He has a black goatee, as well as rings on his nose and left eyebrow. He wears a black T-shirt, light-colored trousers, and a hat. 

 To which Ichigo does not respond, and just laughs. "That's all you've got to say?!" Toshi-Bro demanded and angrily moved to punch him in the face.

However, Ichigo nonchalantly kicks Toshi-Bro in the face, and when the latter collapses, Ichigo continues to kick him in the back as his fellow skateboarders watch in horror.

"Little Yama's down. We got to help him!" Toshi-Bro looks at his members and sees that they all aren't in agreement.

"Are you crazy?" Mit-Bro questions, "No way I'm taking on that psycho."

After driving Toshi-Bro's head through the concrete road, Ichigo directs the attention of the remaining skateboarders, "Now listen up pond scums! Do you see that?" He points to the vase of flowers on the sidewalk behind him, "What do you think that is? You in the middle-- answer!"

Mit-Bro jumps as he points to himself, "What, you talking to me? I guess somebody left those flowers for some kid who got killed here."

"Correct!"

"Wait!"

Mit-Bro's answer leads Ichigo to kick them in the face as well while confirming this is correct. "Now the next question. That vase over there. Why is it lying on its sides?"

Ichigo asks the other two skateboarders why the vase is on its side, and one of them reveals the reason. "I guess one of us knocked it over when we were skateboarding. We didn't--"

Ichigo kicks them both down before they can finish their sentence. "You guys catch on fast. Now go and apologize, or else the next time the flowers will be for you."

Screaming in terror, the skateboarders apologize and run away, prompting Ichigo to note that they likely will not return if he makes them that afraid. "That ought to keep those punks from showing their ugly faces around here."

"Or could risk you going to jail." Ichigo jumps as he quickly turns to the person that he recognizes.

Though at first glance the individual could be female, it's an average-height male of a muscular yet curvaceous stature and sharp and moderately large dark eyes, which leads to often being referred to as a girl due to having effeminate looks. He has long black hair, usually tied in a ponytail with bangs covering most of his right eye. His clothing is bigger on him due to his physic leading him to possess "Man Tits", but also wears athletic shorts.

"Y-Y/n!" Ichigo stutters at the individual now identified as Y/n. "Hey Ichi," Y/n winks while chuckling. "While I can understand your reasoning, you can still be charged with assault since you are the one who threw hands first."

"Please, it's not like they'll do it." Y/n smiles and shakes his head at Ichigo's defense, "Now, I think it'll be best to replace those flowers. Tell me, what kind of flowers do you like?"

Ichigo and Y/n turn to where they see the Dead Girl that the flowers had been set up for appear and think a bit. "I think, roses would be nice. I remember my Grandma always having them in her yard. They're so beautiful."

"Well, then it's settled." Ichigo settles on the flowers as both boys leave and the girl begins to vanish.

My name is Ichigo Kurosaki.
I'm 15 years old, so I'm a high school student.
My family runs a medical clinic here in town.
Maybe it's because we're entrusted with the lives of the living-- I'm not sure--

Oh right, I should also introduce who's with me.
This is Y/n Akemi, and he's also the same age as me.
The two of us knew each other a bit when we were little, but something happened to his family and we didn't see each other for some time.
He wouldn't tell what happened to his words being; "It's in the past, so let's leave it as a past."
Enough of that, Y/n also helps out with the clinic as he's honestly very talented, almost as if he's those characters in the shows where they're reincarnated from their past lives and know a lot.

Anyways!! Ignore all that!!
But as long as I remember, I've been able to see the souls of the dearly departed.

"I'm home! And I have Y/n with me!" Ichigo announces his arrival, only to be kicked in the face by Isshin Kurosaki, father of Ichigo Kurosaki. "You let your guard down! Always stay alert when you enter a room and you're late for dinner. Again!"

Isshin is a tall, muscular man with spiky black hair and brown eyes. He has thin facial hair around his mouth and on his cheeks. As a doctor, Isshin usually wears a white lab coat over his otherwise more casual shirt and trousers.

"Is that a way to welcome your son after he just risked his life to help a spirit find peace? And he brings guests!!" Ichigo yells.

"Silence! I don't care if you bring your boyfriend!" Isshin declared, "Maybe he can be the saving spirit to not have your room a mess."

The two of them continue to butt heads and argue while Y/n goes over to the table to greet Yuzu Kurosaki and Karin Kurosaki. "Hello, you two."

Yuzu's appearance is a stark contrast to her sister's. Yuzu has short light blonde hair, with short bangs hanging over the right side of her forehead. She also wears a red hair clip on the left side of her head. Her eyes are dark brown and appear much softer than Karin's. Yuzu dresses more girlishly when compared to her sister. She frequently wears a green hooded sweatshirt, and an apron when cooking.

Karin has dark grey eyes and black hair that is straight and cropped to hang around her face, just above her shoulders. Her eyes are large and dark. When not wearing her school uniform, Karin typically wears sportswear consisting of knee-length leggings or shorts with alternative shirts, and trainers.

"Hello, future brother-in-law." Karin eats her rice as Yuzu blushes. "Karin, please! We don't know if they'll commit."

Y/n smiles, "Well then, does this mean I just need the father's blessing?"

Isshin froze from that statement as it allowed Ichigo to kick them in the head. "I gotta tell you, Dad! Having a 7:00 pm curfew is uncool!"

"Speaking of uncool," Karin spoke a bit while eating some rice, "Ichigo, you have another."

Upon seeing a bespectacled Plus behind him, a shocked Ichigo wonders when he got here and tries to swipe the spirit away while bemoaning the fact that he is never fully rid of spirits no matter how hard he tries to get rid of them. After thanking Yuzu for dinner, Karin expresses sympathy for Ichigo being so popular with spirits, "Poor Ichigo. It's either Dad or spirits."

 "I think he's lucky to see them." Yuzu admits, "I sort of sense their presence, but never get to see them."

"I don't see what the big deal is with seeing them, I don't believe in them," Karin admits. "Wait, but I thought you could see them?" Yuzu asks in confusion.

Only for Karin to clarify, "I'm in permanent denial. Just seeing them doesn't make me believe in them."

Now Yuzu and the Plus felt chilled by her harsh words. "What about you Y/n?" Karin asks, "I've noticed for some time that you've been calm about this. Can you see them?"

"Well, you can sort of say, I live with them." Y/n answers as Yuzu looks at him with amazement while Karin just nods and goes up to leave her bedroom.

 Calming down, Ichigo tries to get dinner, but Isshin slides into his feet to trip him up before putting him in an armlock on the floor, "You dropped your guard again!"

Ichigo angrily pushes him away before they both punch each other in the face, which leads Isshin to fall to the floor as Ichigo stays standing.

"Never mind dinner! I'm going to my room!" Ichigo goes to his room. "Wow. Father of the year." Karin bluntly spoke prompting a bewildered Isshin, "Me? What did I do?"

While Ichigo lies in his bed upstairs, his moment of peace is over as someone knocks on his door. "Ichi, it's me."

Ichigo goes to the door and opens it to see Y/n holding a tray of food. "You know that Yuzu is going to be worried about you not eating dinner."

Ichigo sighs as he grabs his food and starts to eat. "So, you've been seeing more spirits than before?" Y/n sat down next to Ichigo as he was curious.

"Yeah," Ichigo nods as he continues to eat. "I don't know when but I've been seeing more than I have and it's annoying."

Y/n thinks a bit before turning to Ichigo, "It's probably because you're getting older. You know those shows where the person has powers and as they get older, their power starts to evolve? Well, that could be the case for you, getting older leads to your 'special' vision to evolve."

Ichigo thinks about it after hearing Y/n's explanation. "That...that might be the reason...Wait? Didn't she blow up because her po-?"

"Okay! Missing the entire point!" Y/n shakes his head. He looks at the clock, "I should be going back to my place."

Y/n is about to leave but stops as Ichigo grabs his hand. Y/n looks and sees Ichigo looking away, "Stay here for the night, it's stupid to go home alone."

Y/n smirks, "What's the magic word?" Ichigo irks before huffing, "Please."

"Please what?" Y/n leans towards Ichigo. "...Please. Stay." Ichigo finally spoke as Y/n smiled, "Good Ichigo. I'll stay here for the night."

The Next Day

"The incident occurred outside Karakura Station at 7:30 am this morning. Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash and feeling the ground shake beneath their feet. The entire area has been cordoned off. Further details are sketchy at this point."

As Karin and Yuzu eat breakfast in the dining room, Ichigo and Y/n enter the room. "Hey."

"Good morning Ichigo." Yuzu looked at Ichigo but was shocked a bit, "Oh! I'm sorry I didn't include you Y/n! I thought you were back at your home."

"Morning." Karin greeted them as she continued to eat their breakfast. "Aw it's fine Yuzu," Y/n smiles, "I was originally planning to head home, but Ichi here got a little clingy."

"Shush!" Ichigo blushes and covers Y/n's mouth, both sisters look at each other and nod together, "Committed."

"Where's Dad?" Ichigo quickly asks wanting to change the subject. Y/n goes to the kitchen to help Yuzu.

"Early meeting," Karin answers. "Said he's be late tonight, too."

"Again huh?" Ichigo wonders after getting his question answered. But his mind was off when Y/n came back with a piece of toast near him.

Taking a piece of toast from Y/n, Ichigo turns to the TV where the reporter talks more; "Explosive experts are reportedly on the scene. And we will of course pass along further details--"

"Something bad happens?" Yuzu asks as Y/n tilts his head when looking at the scenery. "Isn't that near here?" Y/n asks out loud while biting his toast.

Shortly afterward, the two boys walk past the site of the incident with fresh flowers and arrive at the street with the dead girl's memorial site, "Hello?"

"Hm?" Y/n notices something as he goes off in the a direction. "Hey wait!" Ichigo follows as he is confused about where Y/n is going.

"Listen. Do you hear that sound?" A lady looks around as her male colleague looks around in confusion, "What sound? I don't hear anything except the usual--"

His words got cut off after an explosion went off. Everyone gasped as they ran off while some noticed that lines that resembled animal claws were starting to appear on buildings.

Y/n arrives at the scene and he gasps at what he sees. "Hey! What the hell were you-" Ichigo froze as he was now seeing what Y/n was seeing.

A large humanoid creature with a mantis-like appearance. Its body majorly resembles a mantis but it has a mask on its face.

"Whoa. What the hell is that?" Ichigo managed to ask.

Suddenly, the dead girl runs toward them while calling out, "Help me!"

"Run. Hurry!" Ichigo yells as Y/n picks up the little girl and starts running away. However, the creature notices them as it starts to follow them.

"What is that thing?" The girl quivers as she looks back to see the creature following them.

"I don't know." Ichigo shakes his head but he doesn't realize a lady's purse is on the ground as he trips from it falling on the ground.

"Oh no!" The girl's eyes widen in horror as Y/n looks back and gasps, "Ichigo!"

As Ichigo tries to quickly get up and run back to them, the monster catches up to them and moves to attack. Suddenly, the woman with formal attire appears in front of the monster and unsheathes her sword before slashing the monster's mouth.

With blood spurting from the wound, the lady lands on the ground before leaping toward the monster once more and cutting through its entire body vertically from the head down, causing it to disintegrate and disappear. When she lands before the boys and the dead girl while sheathing her sword, a stunned Ichigo tries to get her attention, "H-Hey!"

The lady takes a brief look at him but before she starts walking away, she takes a glance at Y/n and her eyes sharpen. 

As civilians begin returning to the scene and wondering what happened, Ichigo looks around and sees that the dead girl has disappeared and looks ahead in shock. Meanwhile, a shadow was covering a majority of Y/n's face as his hair was also blocking his expression from being shown.

Soon afterward, sirens fill the air while emergency services respond and arrive at the scene of the incident.

After the incident, the two boys went back to their home. That night, as Y/n lies in bed, he notes to himself about what happened earlier that day. 

"The way she looked at me..." Y/n ponders before he sees a Jigokuchō fly in front of him.

Y/n quickly stands up as the lady steps into his room. The lady grips on her sword, looking around, and purposely ignores Y/n. This confuses the boy until a light flickered his head as he believes he knows what's happening.

"It's close..." The lady looks around, "But now I'm feeling--"

"Yeah, that might be me." Y/n was close to the lady's ear, "Little Shinigami."

The lady froze as she felt as if she'd been paralyzed. 'He can see-He knows-Who? Who?!'

"Now now, there's no reason to be scared." Y/n goes and turns the lights on, "Unless you're gonna pose a threat to me. Then I would start pleading."

The lady grips her sword and shakes her head but quickly notices that Y/n isn't in front of her. "How?!"

"Is this your Zanpakutō? Never seen other kinds." The lady quickly turns around and sees Y/n smirking, "You know, you look like a jumping cat when you get scared."

"How do you what a Zanpakutō is?! I need answers, now!" The lady unsheathes her sword.

"Is this how Shinigami are now a day? They're doomed to be deceased flops."

"Asuka! Don't say that!!"

"What?!" The lady turns around but sees that behind Y/n two figures started to form.

One of the spirits is a curvaceous young male spirit with the average height of spirits and muscular build with a slightly pale complexion and round, pale green eyes with long eyelashes, a small beauty mark beneath each of them. He has long, light pink hair that fades into a purple color at the halfway point, which he wears in a braid with a butterfly ornament. He has shorter, choppy clumps hanging over his face as voluminous bangs, the tips purple as well.

He wears jacket jacket-style haori that has a butterfly crest on along with a butterfly style. Underneath the hoodie is a sleeveless fishnet shirt, along with fingerless gloves and a pair of shinobi pants with bandages design. He has a pouch near the upper side of his pants as he wears a pair of ninja sandals.

The other spirit like Y/n and his counterpart, carries effeminate looks. He possesses eyes that are noted to be red. His hair is black with a green ombre at the bottom and is styled in a ponytail with center-split, ear-length, voluminous curtain bangs that flow down to frame the sides of his face. Despite them having some feminine looks, he gains a noticeable muscular body.

His outfit is a two-color haori with an obi belt wrapped around him. He wears long black socks underneath his black ninja shorts and a black shirt.

The lady froze as her eyes started to look back at all three men. "You! And you! And you!! H-H-Haruka Kanroji and Asuka Shabana?!"

"I'm glad some members of the Soul Society might remember me!" Haruka cheers.

"Everyone should know who I am, so I'm not bothered." Asuka looks at his nails.

"This doesn't make sense! Both of you vanished, both sides thought each other was at fault, but here you two are!" The lady was mumbling as steam was coming out of her head.

"So, I'm assuming you're here because of a mission?" Y/n asks as the lady stops her mumbling. "*Ahem* Yes. However, I wasn't informed that I would encounter more than one Hollow. I'm sure you're aware of what Hollows are?"

"Hollows are a race of creatures which are born from Human souls who, for various reasons, do not cross over to Soul Society after their death and stay in the Human World for too long." Y/n rubs his chin as he tries to remember, "They are corrupt spirits with supernatural powers that devour the souls of both living and deceased Humans."

"Yeah! I'm glad you remember our lessons!!" Haruka claps his hands.

"Hang on," The Lady looks at the three men in shock. "If you two are here, and taking care of this boy. Does that mean he's been getting rid of some?"

Asuka nods, "Duh. Don't think we didn't notice that some of you guys have been having a hard time finding them."

The Lady grits her teeth as she looks away. "Yes, recently, some...including myself, haven't been able to sense it recently and can guess that there is a powerful force obstructing my senses within the same area."

"I'm sorry but," Y/n scruffed his brows, "Are you saying you cannot hear the terrible cries outside?"

This prompts a confused lady, "What are you-?!" Stopping in shock as she suddenly hears the cries from afar, "Yes I can hear it!"

"Karin!!!" Everyone froze as they quickly looked outside of the window. "That's Ichigo's voice!" Y/n quickly jumps out of his bedroom window.

"What are you-!?" The lady was going to grab Y/n but she saw that Y/n was already gone. 'His speed...A human couldn't-no! They can't posses that!'

Y/n was jumping from rooftop to rooftop till he saw a person with spiky orange hair as it confirmed to him that it was Ichigo. He looks over as his eyes widen in shock, "Karin!"

"Y-Y/n!?" Ichigo struggles to get up as the second Hollow looks up. "I found you!"

The Hollow is a large humanoid Hollow with a fish-like mask and a dorsal fin on his back. His shoulders and arms are plated with what appears to be part of his mask, and his body is covered with dark gray stripes, resembling the scales of a fish.

The Hollow approaches him and goes to reach for him. "Y/n! Run now!" Ichigo screams as he sees Y/n being targeted.

Before the Hollow was an arm's length away, its arm was torn off. Ichigo notices the severed arm was the one that was holding Karin as he quickly goes and catches her, "Karin!"

Roaring in pain, the Hollow holds his injured arm and disappears from view.

"Karin! Karin!!" Ichigo frantically calls out to his sister. He looks and sees that Y/n is on the ground and is holding the Hollow's severed arm, "How did you-?!"

"She's alright. The Hollow has not yet devoured your sisters' souls." The Lady appears.

"You!" Ichigo's eyes widen in seeing the Lady from before. "Now's not the time!" The lady unsheaths her sword as she looks around, "We now know the Hollow is seeking a soul with a higher amount of Reiryoku. And it seems the two of you are their real target, not the girl."

Unknown to the Shinigami, the Hollow appeared behind Ichigo and Karin. Y/n looks up and quickly grabs them, almost being in slow motion as Ichigo now sees Y/n but is going to devour them.

But only in a second, the Lady intercepts the attack with her body, damaging Hollow's mouth in the process. As the creature rears back in pain, the Lady falls to her knees while blood trails behind her.

"You...are a fool. How could you have possibly ever thought you could fight a Hollow?!" The lady holds onto her injured body as she looks at Ichigo with anger, "They hunt for souls and would do anything to get their hands on them!"

While the Hollow recovers and narrows his eyes, the lady pulls herself to a nearby pole; "I'm... too injured to fight. You. Boy. You want to save your family?"

"Of course!" Ichigo immediately confirms before asking; "Tell me how!?"

Affirming this, the Lady leans against the pole and points her Zanpakutō at Ichigo, "It's only temporarily, but you...must become a Shinigami. Take my Zanpakutō so I can pour my powers into you."

While the Hollow continues to roar, that Lady continues to talk, "I don't know if this will work but there is nothing else I can do."

As the Hollow begins to walk toward them, Y/n puts his hands together. The spectators were confused till butterflies started to appear. Their scales were fluttering around as Y/n motioned his hands as they all swarmed around the Hollow.

The Hollow cries as they feel their body melting and instantly charge at them.

"Give me the blade, Soul Reaper," Ichigo tells the lady. "My name is Rukia. Rukia Kuchiki."

Ichigo grabs Rukia's Zanpakutō by the blade, "And my name is Ichigo Kurosaki!"

After introducing himself in turn the blade was pushed into himself, resulting in a powerful surge of energy that releases waves of force in all directions. Pushing through the force, the Hollow suddenly has their left arm cut off by Ichigo.

With Ichigo having successfully gained Shinigami powers and a large Zanpakutō of his own, a stunned Rukia, now clad in a white shihakushō, notes Ichigo's power; "He nearly...He nearly has all of it?"

"Y/n, thank you for helping." Ichigo smiles at Y/n, "Allow me to finish this bastard."

Y/n chuckles, "Sure. Have the spotlight."

'I don't understand.' Rukia sweats; 'How can these humans have enough Reiryoku to confuse my senses, possess these abilities, and enough power to make a Zanpakutō as large as their own body.'

Ichigo cuts off the Hollow's right leg, "Die, you bastard! No one! Hurts! My! Family!!!"

Ichigo screams as he slashes through the Hollow's mask, causing the Hollow to disintegrate and disappear, with Ichigo confidently standing on the street afterward.

It was late as Y/n agreed to sleep in Ichigo's bed. Seeing how there is room to make a bed on the floor, Ichigo protests the idea, that Y/n was sleeping on the bed with Ichigo. Ichigo was struggling to sleep.

Part of the reason, Y/n was sleeping with them! Not only that, but they only have their shorts on, so Ichigo's body is being pressed by Y/n's chest!

'I can die in peace...' Ichigo mentally cried like warrior. But now slowly became a proud deceased human because Y/n somehow was able to have Ichigo little spoon and his chest pressed hard behind Ichigo.

And the other reason is because of Haruka and Asuka.

"I'm so gonna scold that brat!" Asuka watches the two boys sleeping together as he looks like he's gonna commit murder.

"I wonder what their ship name should be?" Haruka blankly was confused before writing in Ichigo's notebook some ideas.

"Oh hell no!!" Asuka protests.
