Ashaangi SS Bewitched

Chapter Twenty Six

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Sivaangi exclaimed and hung up the call.

There were few issues with the design approval data sheet which Sivaangi was overlooking. Thankfully before it gets forwarded to Anusha, Anusha's assistant figured out and informed Sivaangi.

Anusha is very strict when it comes to Business and Sivaangi didn't want to mess up. That's why she was super tensed. When she reached to Shalini, the one among the designing team, thankfully Shalini was ready to help.

Within half an hour the issue has been resolved and Sivaangi finally relaxed. She threw herself on her bed, sighing in relief. But then she sat up when she realized she has to go out with Ashwin.

An instant smile bloomed on Sivaangi's face but that dropped when she realized she pushed Ashwin away because of work tension.

'Will he be angry because of that?' Sivaangi thought as she chewed her lips.

Pushing herself off the bed, Sivaangi went down. There was no one there. So, she went to Saradha's. She paused on her track when she saw Dhanalakshmi and Ashwin sitting together and watching daily soaps.

"Ammachii, Vijay tv vainga. Velambaram mudinchurukum" Ashwin said peeling Palmyra Sprouts (Panang kizhangu).

(Grandma, keep Vijay Tv. Advertisement must have ended)

Smiling, Sivaangi walked inside.

"Yenna panringa ammachi um peranum ena vitutu?" Sivaangi asked.

(What are you grandmother and grandson up to without me?)

"Vaa de kannu. Ukaru" Dhanalakshmi beamed at Sivaangi who beamed back at her and sat down next to Ashwin.

(Come, dear. Sit)

'Kochukitaru aatam iruku' Sivaangi thought as she noticed Ashwin not looking at her, 'Hmm, tension la irundhrundhalum naa apdi aasai ya vandha manushana thalli vitruka kudathu. Paavam, hurt agitaru pola'

(Looks like he's angry... Hmm, even if I was in tension I shouldn't have pushed away when he excitedly came near me. Poor guy, looks like he's hurt)

Sivaangi looked at Ashwin, not knowing how to start the conversation with him. He was discussing about the reality show with Dhanalakshmi as he cut a piece of palmyra sprouts.

A soft smile touched Sivaangi's lips, when Ashwin, who still haven't looked at her and busy conversing with his grandmother, extended a piece of palmyra sprouts. She took the piece from his palm and before he could retreat his hand, she held his hand.

Ashwin didn't make any attempt to tug his hand free from Sivaangi's grip. Rather he continued talking with Dhanalaksmi, making Sivaangi pout. She sighed and tugged Ashwin's hand but he didn't turn.

"Ashwinnn" Sivaangi whispered, trying to get his attention and huffed when he didn't spare her any.

Twisting her lips, Sivaangi let go of Ashwin's hand and stood up.

"Naa ipo vandhruren Paati" Sivaangi excused herself and left.

(I'll be back grandma)

Ashwin finally looked up and saw Sivaangi walking out. Sighing, he leaned back on the sofa. He wasn't angry with Sivaangi. But may be a little hurt? To be honest, he didn't know she was in the middle of call, let alone her being tensed.

When Sivaangi pushed his arms away, Ashwin was completely taken aback. Thousand thoughts rushed to his mind and it took him couple of seconds to actually know why she was pissed. He wasn't in a space to get angry but hurt, he sure was and it was bit upsetting for him, given he missed her.

"Paati, naa yepdi iruken?"

(Grandma, how do I look?)

Ashwin instinctively looked up on hearing Sivaangi's voice. He was surprised to see her wearing the blouse he stitched. The purple and yellow half saree looked too good on her. She wore simple jewels and let her hair down.

Sivaangi's eyes stayed on Ashwin and she didn't miss his appreciative gaze before he ducked his head. Dhanalakshmi praised her beauty and took evil eyes off her. Sivaangi bit back her smirk and looked at Ashwin.

"Yenna Ashwin, naa yepdi iruken nu neenga sollave illa?"

(Ashwin, you haven't said anything about how I look?)

Ashwin was shocked for a second when Sivaangi asked this in front of his grandmother. But he quickly composed himself and eyed at his grandmother who was looking at him. He then looked at Sivaangi.

"Adhu...nalla iruku ma" Ashwin gave a half sheepish smile to Dhanalaksmi who gave an amused smile to him.

(That...you look nice)

"Thank you, thank you" Sivaangi turned to Dhanalakshmi, "Seri, Paati. Naanga poetu varom"

(Thank you, thank you.... Okay, grandma, we will leave now)

Shocked, Ashwin looked at Sivaangi.

"Yenga kannu?"

(Where, dear?)

"Ashwin enaku namma oora suthi kamikuren nu sonnaru, indha vayal aaru lam. Naanga poetu varom" Sivaangi beamed when Dhanalakshmi nodded at her. She then looked at Ashwin, "Polama, Ashwinn?"

(Ashwin said he will show me around our town; the fields and river. We'll leave now... Shall we, Ashwinn?)

Ashwin stood up, hesitating on what to say in front of Dhanalakshmi.

"Sivaangi ah bathirama kuptu poetu vaa kannu" Dhanalakshmi patted Ashwin's arm.

(Take Sivaangi and bring her back safely, dear)

Ashwin eyed at Sivaangi who gave an excited smile before looking at Dhanalakshmi, "Seri, Ammachi"

(Okay, grandma)

The duo walked out while Dhanalakshmi watched them with a smile.

As soon as they came out, Sivaangi poked Ashwin's arm.

"First yenga poga porom? Car la poroma illa bike la ya? Bike la polama? Naa idhu vara onga kuda ponadhe illa" Sivaangi said looking at Ashwin.

(Where are we going first? Are we going in car or in bike? Shall we go in bike? I haven't gone in bike with you yet)

Ashwin paused on his track making Sivaangi stop as well. He kept looking at her without words. She sighed.

"Ashwin, that was a work call. The data sheet I was overlooking was messed up. I was tensed and worried. That is why I reacted that day. I'm really sorry about that" Sivaangi poked Ashwin's arm with her index finger, "Thaniya kuptu poe samadhanam panalam nu irundhen. Ipdi veetuku munnadi ninnute irundha yarachum paaka poranga"

(.... I thought I will comfort and convince you when we are alone. If we stand in front of the house and talk then someone will see)

"Nadandhute pesalam" Ashwin said after a couple of seconds. Sivaangi nodded and they started walking.

(We'll talk as we walk)

"I wouldn't say I'm not hurt. To be honest, I don't know you were busy. In my excitement to meet you, I didn't think twice and... and hugged you. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have" Ashwin said looking at Sivaangi.

"Heyy, apdi lam illa, pa" Sivaangi held Ashwin's arm as they walked, "Adhu naa romba tensed ah irundhen. Vera yendha reason kaaga um naa onga kai ah thalli vidala. Ongaluku theriyadha I love being in your arms nu"

(Heyy, nothing like that... I was very tensed at that time. That was the reason because why else would I push your hand away? Don't you know that I love being in your arms?)

Ashwin sighed softly and then looked at Sivaangi.

"Hmmm naa unna thappu sollala ma. Vidu. Koncha nerathula I'll be fine. Don't worry. I'm fine" Ashwin said and Sivaangi relaxed.

(Hmmm I'm not saying you are at fault. Leave this. In some time I'll be fine. Don't worry. I'm fine)

"Okay"

Through out the way Ashwin explained about the various fields and its plantations to Sivaangi. She asked him endless doubts which he answered patiently but the cheerful Ashwin wasn't out yet and she didn't press too. She realized he might need some time to snap out of that hurt.

Ashwin took Sivaangi into a groove which belong to Dhanalakshmi. They walked across various plantations and walked a steep path to walk on a field side.

"Idhu nalla thanni kenaru. Adhu pump set. Motor pota idhula thanni varum. Kulikalam" Ashwin said and Sivaangi leaned a little to look into the well.

(This is good water well. This is pump set. If we put on motor, water will flow. People can bath here too)

"Kenatha suthi sevaru illa ma. Paathu nillu"

(There's no wall around the well. Be careful)

Sivaangi hummed and sat on the slab, playing with the water filled on the cement tank attached to the pump set setting. Ashwin sat on the opposite stone slab, looking around.

"Thanni nalla chill nu iruku" Sivaangi splashed water on Ashwin slightly jerked and raised an eyebrow at Sivaangi.

(The water is chill)

"What? Apdi paatha? Bayapadanuma?" Sivaangi cocked her eyebrow.

(What? If you look like that, should I be scared?)

"Hmmmmmm" Ashwin eyed at Sivaangi with a serene smile.

'Aaha! Work out agudhu. Work out agudhu' Sivaangi grinned mentally.

(Aaha! Its working. Its working)

"Adhepdi, naa nalla irukena? Ipdi ongalukaga azhaga kelambi vandhruken. Neenga paatu nalla iruka ma nu ore description la mudichutinga?" Sivaangi twirled the pallu in her hand.

(What did you say, that I look nice? I have beautifully got ready for you and you just described me with just a nice?)

Ashwin rubbed his beard and looked intently at Sivaangi making her whole demeanour change in a split of a second. She gulped feeling his gaze on her.

"Fit correct ah dhan thacchuruken" Ashwin finally said before averting his gaze while Sivaangi tried hard to conceal her blush but failed.

(I have stitched it in correct fit)

'Sivaangi, ice varudhu! Apdiye maintain pannu' Sivaangi told herself.

(Sivaangi, he's melting! Maintain this)

Clearing her throat, Sivaangi stood up and said, "Inum naa yepdi iruken nu sollalaye?"

(You still haven't told me about how I look?)

Ashwin eyed at Sivaangi as he stood up. Meeting her eyes, his face broke out into a soft smile as he said, "Romba azhaga iruka ma"

(You are very beautiful)

Sivaangi smiled widely. Ashwin's compliment didn't make her happy as much as his smile did.

"Seri vaa, inga irundhu aaru pakkam dhan. Polam"

(Okay, come, let's go to river's side. Let's go)

Ashwin turned to walk away but he stood dumbfounded when he heard Sivaangi yell, "Hello senior, nalla pathupingala?"

(Hello senior, will you take care of me well?)

Ashwin's head whipped back to Sivaangi, his eyes wide in surprise. She stared at him with a soft smirk and took a step front. But her ankle twisted resulting in Sivaangi missing her balance. Before he could process her words completely, his lips yelled her name as he saw her ankle give away and she fell into the well, screaming in fear.
