" When was her last period?? " Maya asked.

What??? She can't be asking me that...

" WHAT ?? " I was shocked.

" Why are you overreacting?? "

" I am not comfortable talking to you about all this. " I said

" Oh please... Give me a break. Since when did you become so shy?? "

" Why are you asking me all that?? "

" All that is a normal, valid question in this situation. "

" How do I know?? "

" What?? You don't know?? What do you mean by that?? She is your wife."

" So?? "

" So??  Do I need to explain it to you,  my... all of a sudden, very shy brother? For  God's sake, you got married only 3 months back. "

" So??? Do I need to know such things? "

" You would if you have a good relationship with your wife. You said you can't keep your hands off her?? So, you should have known." She said with a raised eyebrow.

" Please, shut up! " I said.

"  First you explain... I am not able to digest this. "

" Oh, God !!! I know but I don't remember it. Please don't grill me like that. I am already tense. She is already annoyed with me and you are asking me weird questions. I am not in the right frame of mind. But I think she is not pregnant. I am sure. "

" Since when she has been like this and why?? "

" How do I know?? I am trying to figure it out myself. "

" When was the last time, she was normal?? "

"  Umm last night... She was normal and but emotional. She missed her family and then I tried to soothe her, she  was normal "

"Ok... When did she plan to do the job?? "

" She asked me once a few weeks ago, but yesterday, she told me that she got the job. "

" She said that she wanted to do the job because she got bored. Are you not spending quality time with her? "

" I am ... "

" I don't know... Somehow, your relationship seems to lack the spark. Something is not right. Tell me what is it?? "

" Nothing, I am not aware of any such thing. "

" Take care of her before she loses interest in you. It seems either she is pregnant or having some serious emotional disturbance. Watch out...  Before it is too late. "

" What do I do?? "

" Let me think... Let's go back," she said and we came out. Viraj and Srusti had just finished the food. 

" Have you eaten well? And what about medicine?? " I asked and she nodded without looking at me.

" Manu, Myra and I made her eat. " Viren said. I smiled at them.

" Srusti, how are you feeling now??  "

" I am fine di... I was missing my parents too much.  " She said.

" I can understand... Would you like to come and stay with us or our parents for the change?? We all would love it. " Maya asked. But before Srusti could say anything, the kids got very happy and started persuading her to stay with them.

What was Maya up to??

Srusti looked at me for a split second and before I could shake my head to say no to her. She averted her eyes.

" No... She can't. Then I would be alone. " I said

" Why? You have your friend... I mean friends with you. "  Her words were dripping with sarcasm.

" What ?? What friends?? " I was shocked.

Whom was she talking about?? Robin ?? What does she know about him?? Us??

" Let it be...  Di, I would like to come. Can I ?? I mean if it is ok with you? I don't want to disturb you..."  She said. Kids got very excited at that.

" Of course... You can. We would love to have you with us. Isn't it Viraj ? "
Maya said.

What was she doing?? I wanted to be with her and solve the problem. She was taking her away from me...

" Absolutely... Why are you even asking, Srusti?? Please don't ever hesitate to come and stay with us. Remember, I am your elder brother now?? Just tell me if he bothered you, I would throw some punches at him. " Viraj said and she smiled and shook her head.

Why was she ok with everyone but me?? What have I done??

" Go and pack your bag, you are coming with us. " Maya said.

" No !! " I said and shook my head.

" Yey !!! Yes !!! " kids started jumping.

" But what about me?? "

" You stay here... " Maya said and everyone else laughed except her and me.

" What would I do without her?? " I said. I really wanted to be with her to solve everything.

" Actually, he is right di... Who would cook for him?? I must stay here, I need to make food for him as he likes to eat home cooked meal. " She said.

What ?????

" What nonsense !! We will send him the packed food or he can come and eat with us. " Maya said.

What?? Food?? Does she think that I want her to stay just because of food??

How could she??

What else would she think?? What else do you interact about??  My soul said.

Maybe, you are correct, Mr know it all ( soul).  But you know... That I want her to stay with me. 

But she doesn't know...

Still, I felt bad. I didn't want her food, I wanted her.

" Don't worry about me or my food, I can survive. Please don't bother to send food. It is not that important. "  I said and went to the balcony. Maya followed me.

" What happened to you?? " 

" Nothing !!! Why are you taking her away?? You know, I was trying to understand her and make thing normal. "

" I know... Trust me it is going to help you both. "

" What rubbish?? "

" Absence makes the hearts grow founder.  This means that when people we love are not with us, we love them even more. "

" What if she drifts apart? "

" Absence makes us think of or miss someone and realize their worth in life, increasing the desire to have it. "

" I don't know... "

" You want her ?? " 

" More than ever. "

" Then let her go. Trust me you would miss each other and would be able to resolve your difference. It is a matter of just a few days. And who is stopping you to come to our place? She is your wife, you can come and visit us, even spend the night there.  " Maya said and ruffled my hair. I grinned like a boy and hugged her.

But I was already getting founder of her, what would happen if her absence makes my heart go crazy??

But I had no option but to let her go... In a way it was better, at least Robin couldn't approach her. He could come here any time in my absence. I  got the whole locking mechanism of my home changed but still.

Srusti's POV

I was packing my bags, but I didn't know if what I was doing was right or wrong.

I felt bad for snapping at him and leaving him while he tried to stop me from going away. I knew it was just to pretend that we were very close.  Did he want me to stay?

I felt even worse when he said, "  Don't worry about me or my food, I can survive. Please don't bother to send food. It is not that important. "

I felt like crying. I knew he got annoyed.  He would get careless about his food and would eat junk food. He was already a fussy eater. How would he manage?? I was also upset as he didn't even want my food now.

Shall I stay back??

No !! You should not, you are feeling vulnerable. You need to stay away from him to stay sane. Remember he just said to Manu that he loved her and wanted her to come back.

Hmmm, you are right.

But why was she back?? Why can't she stay away from him?? Was she not happy in her life?? Did she love him back?? Did she want him as well??

I closed my eyes and a few tears slipped out of my eyes. I went to the washroom and cleaned my face. Maya di came to my room.

"  Why is all your stuff lying in this room?? Do you sleep in separate bedrooms?? "  She asked all of a sudden.

Oh, God!! What do I say now??
