Srusti's POV

" How dare you touch the girl. Can't you understand that she is saying no?? " The man said.

" Wait !! Who are you ?? Is she sleeping with you??"

" No, she is not, mind your language. I may be anyone. How dare you talk to a girl like that?? Didn't your parents teach you, how to behave decently?? " he said and punched again.

" She is my family. She eloped earlier so I was just trying to take her home. "  Gagan said.

" No !! He was trying to... To...  " I started saying but stopped.

" It's ok... You are safe now.  Call the police!! " Stranger said he was holding him while punching.

"NO !!! "  Gagan said in a louder voice.

" Call police, he needs to be punished." He said again.

" Don't !!!  Just think of your sister... I would leave her. She would die without me... "  I know he was right, my sister might die without him.

" Thanks a lot, sir... But... please let him go. " I said to the stranger with difficulty as I was still very shocked with what happened just now.

" You are doing a mistake. You don't need to be scared of him. He needs to be punished or he would bother you again. "  He said.

" His wife is my sister. She is pregnant and her condition is very critical as her pregnancy is really difficult. She may die of shock. Please leave him. I don't want to press any charges against him. " I said while my tears were still flowing.

" Are you sure ?? "  He asked with genuine concern and I nodded. He released his grip on his collar and let him go with a warning to mend his ways or he would file a complaint. Gagan ran off the moment he loosened up his grip on Gagan.

" Thank you so much !!! " I said.

" Oh please, don't say it. It was my duty.  But as a brother, I would suggest that you should take an action against him. "

" I care about my sister as she is my only blood relation now. I can't lose her too. "

" Ok, but you need to be strong. " He was saying and just then I heard the cry of a baby and for the first time, I realised that there was a twin baby crib there.

He went towards it and tried to soothe the crying baby. But it kept crying. He picked it out of the pram. It was a pretty girl and just then another child also started crying and wanted to be carried in arms too.

" Oh, God!! Not again...  Why do you both cry at the same time?? " 

The macho man looked helpless all of a sudden.

" May I ?? "

" Hmmm ?? "

" May I hold one of them and try to soothe her.  "

" You would?? "

" I would love to... If you don't mind. "

" No, I don't... Please do it. I would call my wife here. She went to the restroom. Let's go and sit at that coffee joint till she comes back.  "  He said And I nodded. We went there.

" Hey !! Where are you?? Come back fast beautiful, our daughters are giving me a though time. Come to the coffee joint. " He was talking to his wife. He seemed to be so much in love with her.

I patted the crying child and she stopped crying and looked at me with her round eyes. I touched her cute button nose and she giggled. Then I  tickled under her chin and she made a happy sound.

" Oh wow !! You are great with kids... I would have taken an hour and still, my princess would not have given me that response. Are you a magician? "

" Nothing like that... I happen to love kids. " just then I saw a very pretty girl coming our way. She was holding a few bags.

" Hey !! You went to washroom or shopping?? " he asked his wife.

" Went to the washroom but saw a baby shop and could not resist going there," she said with a beautiful smile and gave the bags to her husband and took the baby girl in her arms.

" Darling, meet this lady who helped me with our daughters. She managed them so well. Oh, I am sorry, I didn't even ask your name. "

" Hello ma'am, I am Srusti. And no sir, in fact, you helped me a lot. I can't thank you enough. "

" Oh, please don't say that. It was my duty. By the way, I am Sahil Malhotra and she is my wife Manyata. " He introduced themselves and his wife was smiling at me. I smiled back at her. 

" Nice to meet both of you. "

" Same here, dear. What happened?? " She asked and Mr Malhotra told her everything.

" Oh my God !! Such a cheap man. Are you ok?? " She asked me.

" Yeah, thanks to Mr Malhotra. "

" Listen Srusti, you don't need to be so formal, I have a younger sister just like you. Her name is Swati. She got married and lives in Chandigarh now. You are like her, so you can call me bhaiya if you want. Mr Malhotra won't do. Ok?? "

" Ok !! Thanks a lot. "

" So, what do you do, Srusti?? " He asked.

" Nothing much, I just cook food for... Someone. I was planning to find a job for myself. I have ample time in a day. "

" Great !! I was looking for an assistant, would you like to work with me?? "

" Assistant?? What do you do? "

" I am a fashion photographer. So basically click pictures of the models.  You see I was on maternity leave for more than a year. But now I need to go back to my work as I really miss my work. I need to work but at the same time, I can't neglect my angels. So I am planning to take them with me. So I need someone who could also help my babies along with other things. Can you do it?? "

" Yes, I think, I can... But can I confirm it with you later? "

" Yes, of course. Take your time and let me know. " She said with a smile.

We all had coffee and I played with their daughters. The girls were very pretty just like their mom.  I took their leave and went home.

My hand had swollen by now and I could not cut or chop anything. I thought of making plain daal and rice but then thought against it.

He was working too hard these days, so I thought of asking if he wanted to have it or not. So I called him.

He picked up the call, " Hi !! Missed me?? "

I did... But why do you bother??

" I wanted to ask something... "

"Yes, tell me beautiful?? "

" Would you eat daal and rice for dinner? "

" Ummm... actually, I was kind of busy today so could not eat well. So, I wanted to eat something yummy. "

" Oh... Actually... In that case, can we order something from outside? "

" Of course, we can... But are you not well ?? What happened?? "

" No... Nothing much. I am fine. "

" No, tell me... you never say that we should order from outside. What happened?? "

" It's nothing... I just was not in a mood to make elaborate food. "

" Are you sure?? "

" Hmmm. "

" Ok, we can go out... "

" No, we can order. I don't want to go anywhere. "

" If you say so... I would be back by 7 PM. "

" Yeah... Ok. " I said and disconnected the call.

I waited for him, I wanted to ask him if I should work for the Malhotra's. I liked the couple a lot.

He came back and came to see me directly. He touched my forehead and neck to see if I had a fever.

" Hi !! Good evening... " I said.

" Tell me what is it?? "  He asked ignoring my greeting.

" What?? "

" Something is different. You are not behaving normally. "

" Let's order food first... You must be hungry. " I said and he nodded. He asked me what would I like, and ordered food.

I was laying the table when I groaned with pain.

" What happened?? "

" Nothing," I said and started going towards the kitchen but he held my right hand and I groaned again.

" Come out with it.  "  He came to me and saw my hand.

" What happened to your hand?? And don't say it was nothing... " He said examining my hand, it was still swollen.
