Chapter 2: No One Suspects The Fool

Sitting in class, boredom flowed over Lance as class ran on. Until I crumpled up piece of paper hit him in the back of the head. Turning, he saw Pidge mouthing "read it."

He smirked back her, knowing that his boredom was just about to be lifted.

Keith walked through the halls of the school. His last year of school, and his first year as a true officer. Then maybe, he'll be able to catch Blue after all his studies were pushed aside.

"Hey Keith," Lance spoke from behind, resting his arm on Keith's shoulder.

"What do you want, Lance?" He breathed out in a sigh, looking lazily up at the other teen.

"Just wanted to know if you wanna hang with me, Pidge and Hunk. So, you in?" He asked with a smug grin.

"No," he answered flatly, his eyes turned to the floor, cold and lifeless. "I'll be graduating this year. I don't have time for stuff like this," Keith breathed out.

But as he was about to walk away, Lance's hand gripped his arm firmly. His eyes colder then his own, it frightened him, reminded him of Blue. "You need to have a bit of fun. You won't be a kid forever," his words, cold but true, pierced his heart, it felt, hot. "Children need to smile," he whispered in a frozen breath.his eyes seeming to be sucked from all light. "Welp, I can't force you," he said cheerfully, all the light and joy back on his face. "Good luck catching Blue," he call as he ran to Pidge and Hunk, who were standing at the end of the hall.

The air seemed colder as Keith stood there alone and confused by Lance's words. He shook his head, letting all the thoughts from before leave his mind. But one thing still choked him up, tightened his chest up inside and out. His cheeks grew hot, and throat dry. Lance was different.

"I told you. Stop flirting with him," Pidge sighed out in a annoyance. Her eyes narrowed, the green paint on her eyes fallowed, "we're going to get caught."

Lance leaned backwards against the cold stone wall. "Relax Pidge. If I get caught, I won't let them find you. I'm only trying to live my own personal life here," he said, smirking back at her, eyebrows raised in a cocky way.

"Let's just get this job done," she smiled sadly.

"Got it," Lance said, jumping to his feet. "And Allura?" He asked. Pidge just smirked, pointing her finger down at a girl in pink. "Smart ass," Lance teased as he jumps down to the street.

"Hey Pink," he smirked. She smiled back, putting on her helmet.

"Hello Blue," she greeted as she stared up the motorcycle. "Ready?"

"Ready," Lance replied, hopping onto the bike.

Keith, flustered, ran after Blue, who was piggy-backing a little girl— and she was laughing, like it was a game. Because that's what Blue dose, he makes everything a game. Until, they hit a dead end.

"Ever rid a motorcycle before?" He asked the girl. She shook her head with excitement. "Well, your about to," he smirked, tossing her out the window. She screamed and laughed at the same time.

"No!" Keith yelled, rushing over to the window. Only, to find the girl safely strapped into a bike with pink. "Freeze!" He ordered, pointing his gun at her, before being spun around, and pinned to the wall. By Blue.

"Get lost Pink. I got this," he coos, looking into Keith's eyes. His grip never loosened even though the sound of the motorcycle left their ears. "Hey there, officer," he cooed, his eyes filled with lust, his lips curled into a smile.

"Get off me," Keith gritted his teeth together, but Blue's grip only seemed to tightened.

"Aw, but I don't wanna," Blue wined. Moving closer to his ear, Blue licked it." I bet you like being held down, don't you?" Keith could feel Blue's smirk against his neck.

"Let go," he spat. Damn it. How can he be this strong? He thought. His heart throbbed in his chest, it was smiler from earlier, but also different.

"Your being so mean to me today. Did I hurt your feelings?" He smirked. His eyes cold and dead. Like— like Lance.....

"Lance," he whispered out a breath.

Blue's eyes widened, almost surprised. But then soon calming back into their once cold gaze. "Oh, Lance? That wouldn't be that friend of yours, now would it? The useless one?" He voice colder then ice, his eyes sharper then glass. "Do you care for him? The Fool?"

Keith's face reddened." He's- he's a close friend," he stuttered. His face heated, his eyes looked to the floor.

"Oh! I see," he chuckled. "Maybe I'll tell him that. Myself," Blue smirked as he stepped back from Keith.

His face lit with horror. "No— no! You wouldn't!" Keith yell as he retched for his gun. But Blue was gone. And he knows Keith's weakness.

The next day, Lance was nowhere to be seen, and it scared Keith.

"You ok man?" Hunk asked Keith. Only to have Keith look away from his friends.

"I— I'm fine. It's— well, it's just that the chase ended in Blue getting away. Again," he sighed. "And, now I know he's done some backroad checks on my personal life," he sighed. "I'm just worried that something happened."

Both Pidge and Hunk mentality slapped themselves. They were going to kill Lance once they found him.

"You could always text him?" Pidge shrugged her shoulders. "I mean, he's a little down today. You don't know this because Lance doesn't like to talk about it, but," she trailed off, taking a deep breath. "Today's the anniversary of his older sister's death," she said, swelling hard.

"What?" Keith whipped his head around to look at her and Hunk, both looking upset.

"Yeah," Hunk added." It was the first of many," he sighed. Keith looked at them confused before realizing that—" then his mom passed on, his father had to move away for a better pay, and he doesn't want his younger siblings to have to work. He wants them to keep being kids as long as possible," he said with a sad smile.

"Yeah, that's why he's having a party tomorrow. To have a little fun, before," Pidge trailed off, "before he has to work and get married," she said also smiling sadly.

"Wait, Lance is getting married?!" Keith asked. " but he's a year younger then me! So your telling me, that once he's 18, and working— he's getting married?!" He asked confused, his heart speed up in anger and sadness, and, and—

"Yeah," Hunk answered.

"To who?"

"Lance won't tell us," Pidge said. Then a sudden idea came to mind," maybe you can ask him. You know, tomorrow, at his party? You got they day off right?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Well, yeah, but—"

"Then it's settled,"

"But I'm not good at parties,"

Looking down at an old photo album, Lance sighed.

"Blue!" A girl called out. "You wanna play, joker with us!?" She asked giggling. At lest twelve dozen kids behind her.

He smiled up at them, "why not," he chuckles, throwing the album to the side," I'm great at this game. No one suspects the fool."
