Epilogue

A year later:

Carrying two bags of groceries I push our apartment door open with my shoulder. Aedan flies out from under my shirt, transforming into his original form and flops down on the couch with a loud groan covering his face with the back of his arm.

"I still hate the sun. I can't take it anymore." he mumbles.

"You could've stayed home. It was one of the options remember?" I chuckle closing the door behind me.

He removes his arm from his face glaring at me. "Not without you." he says sternly. "I still don't trust my father; he could send someone after you while you're away. If I stay at home, I won't be there to protect you."

I place the groceries down on the coffee table. He's too protective and clingy sometimes. But I love that about him. The King hasn't sent someone after us so why would he do it now? Aedan needs to relax, he's even scared to leave me alone with Abby and Elizabeth. And that almost always ends up with him and Abby arguing. Yes, he argues with a little girl because she wants to spend time with me and so does Bonny. He's so big now and it's difficult to pick him up.

"Does that mean you're coming with me tonight?" I ask. It's Abby's birthday and it'll be first birthday party I'll ever attend. I want to be there for her and I want to be present in the moment.

"Again?" he groans, pulling me towards him and dragging me on top of him as our bodies collide. Even in this realm his body's temperature stays lows. As for mine, it's even warmer here but he never pushes me away. Not even during the night, in fact he holds me even closer.

"You can always stay." I rub his cheek gently and his eyes flutter shut for a moment.

"I'm not staying." he hisses flipping us around on the couch so that I'm now lying underneath him. He places wet and hungry kisses down my neck and collarbone before moving back up. I run my fingers through his black hair, moaning. I had to dye his hair after a few months of living here. People kept asking where he dyed his hair that bright red color. Until he couldn't stand it anymore. He reaches my lips, kissing me while teasing me by grazing his fang against my lower lip.

I hiss pushing him when he bites my lip, licking it before I push him away. "That hurts. You're always biting me." I frown.

He smirks against my lips pulling away. "I can't help it. You taste so fucking good." He kisses me again running his hand up my waist.

An envelope laying on the carpet catching my attention. With my hands on his chest I push him away, staring at the envelope on the floor. He groans sounding displeased by my actions of stopping him from caressing me.

"We received letters." I gasp and he follows my gaze to the carpet raising an eyebrow. He moves away giving me space to stand up as I go pick up the envelope and I trace my finger over the royal and academy crest.

"It's from our realm." I whisper and open it, walking to the window for some light. "and there's two." I add glancing towards Aedan as he frowns.

I open the first letter than comes directly from the royal palace and from the King and start reading it. The letter didn't have a lot of sentences on it, was quick and to the point. I stare at it with a slightly open mouth reading the part where the king says he'll leave me and Aedan alone and let us to do what we want. For the mean time.

He mentions that he brought humans back into the realm hoping to find the princess's bloodmate. Admitting that he didn't want his children to live without experience love like he did. He says that the witch visited his dream a few months ago, proving our theory about the blood mates breaking the curse of love correct.

He doesn't mention my mother or sister. Probably because this letter wasn't meant for me. Even so, I know they're safe and okay. Michael keeps Aedan updated about them. I feel at peace and happy here with Aedan. Even if it's without having them in my life. I hear the sound of the couch and Aedan stands up. I hand him the letter from his father when he stops in front of me.

"It's from him isn't it? I don't want to hear anything that comes out of his mouth." he groans.

"Read it anyway." I say picking up the second letter, Sera's name displaying on the top. Excitement with a bit of sadness runs through me. I miss them.

"Could you unpack the groceries while I read this one?" I ask wanting to read this one alone. He looks at the groceries lifting my hand to his mouth and place a kiss on top of it. He carries the bags to the kitchen without hesitation. I can't believe I'm ordering the royal prince around.

I unfold the letter reading each sentence. She goes on how boring break time is without me and how much she misses me even though I didn't talk a lot. Aster still has no girl by his side and apparently is even more annoying now. She tells me about the new humans the king brought into the realm and how she thinks Aster actually misses me, even though he won't admit it to her.

Then at the end of the letter, out of the blue she asks me a question. Is there a baby yet?

I blush like a tomato picking up a paper and a pen writing back to her. Since she filled me in about things that side I tell her about the job I got: working as a house cleaner. About Elizabeth and Abby, the two kindness humans I've met, also the rude ones I've encountered here. Lastly, I tell her there's no baby and that we were both surprised since we haven't been using anything.

I write that Aedan thinks it's because I'm a hybrid. My cells are weaker and there's a big chance that'll never be able to conceive. But it doesn't bother the two of us. As long as we have each other. We're complete.

And who knows maybe in the future I'll be able to visit them again. When things are safer and sorted that side.

THE END

Thanks for making it to the end. Now that it's finished, I realized it needs some really good editing and maybe a whole rewrite. For now. I'm taking a break. But I promise I'll be back to make Between The Two Of Us even better.

xoxo
