Chapter Ten
At the end of the day, when all the students walk to the dormitory I take a chance and search for the stairs that goes to the top floor. Walking and searching around for a few minutes, I finally find the stairs and go up. When I reach the top floor I'm amazed by how beautiful it is. The library is huge with more tables and sofa's than shelfs. I take a few steps into the library and don't see walls on the other side, it only has railings. I feel the cold wind coming up and walk to the railings to see the gorgeous view for myself.
Aster was right, the view up here is magnificent. Lights of the city were flickering in the distance. Buildings upon buildings and on the academy grounds I see a few students walking to the dormitory. The moon hides behind the clouds and they look heavy but I can tell it's not going to rain tonight. I duck down, when a bat flies in and disappears somewhere in the library.
Luckily it was just me up here but I probably shouldn't stay here for too long. What if they lock me inside the academy building? I move towards the bookshelves. My eyes scanning over all the names of the books when it locks on a specific one.
The royal curse
Intrigue I try to reach for it but it's too far up. I look down at my shoes and step onto the lower rack of the shelf to reach higher and feel the bookshelf tilt forward. I jump down, stumbling backwards to another bookshelf behind me. It was coming toward me in a quick speed, I close my waiting to get hit.
An arm wraps around my waist and I hear books falling to the floor but the shelf never hits me. Feeling a hand around my waist I slowly I open my eyes and the first thing I see is the uniform. It wasn't a school uniform. I look up and see a hand on the edge of the shelf stopping it from falling forward and on me. Then I see him. He pushes the shelf back to its original place and removes his arm from my waist.
"Why were you standing there waiting for it to hit you?" he asks, irritated.
"How did you know I was here?" I ask avoiding the question.
"I have eyes everywhere."
"Are you here for...?" I ask my voice soft knowing why he was here but still asking anyway. Maybe a part of me hope it wasn't the case.
"Yes." he answers.
"We're at the academy. What if someone walks in and sees us?"
"I have excellent hearing." he steps closer. My breathing quickens. Is he going to feed from my neck again? I don't want him to. It's still sensitive even if it's fully healed I still can't touch it. He moves my hair away from my neck and put it behind my shoulder.
"It's still sensitive." I whisper, trying to plead with him.
He hooks his finger into my shirt and pulls down, exposing my shoulder. I inhale sharply, a small shiver going through me and the cold air coming from outside giving me goosebumps.
"Here?" he asks and puts his lips on my shoulder. I shudder, he was so close. His hand slips to the back of my head and he pushes his fangs into my shoulder. I gasp, letting out a whimper and clenching my fists next to me. This time when he bites me the pain almost disappears immediately and was replaced with overwhelming pleasure. My hands suddenly itch to touch him, to feel his skin underneath my fingertips.
A moan escapes from the both of us. I gasp when his hands go under my butt and he lifts my legs up from the floor. His hands slide down, resting at the back of my knees. I wrap my legs around him. Almost like he knows I wanted to touch him, he removes his hands from my knees, pinning mine above my head to prevent me from moving. I feel my back pressing even harder against the shelf behind us as he continues feeding on me.
My body feels like it's on fire, I can't keep still anymore. Sensing it he stops and removes his fangs out of my shoulder. At first, he doesn't move, looking at me like he was trying to control himself from overfeeding. Eventually he moves away from me, his chest moving up and down as my feet touch the floor again. His eyes slowly widen at my flustered state. I stare back at him panting, the white of his eyes were black and his iris red with my blood still dripping down his lips.
Then he's gone. Like he was never here.
When I get to my room I throw my bag onto the floor, change into something comfortable and climb into bed, passing out for a few hours. After waking up I keep lying in bed and glance up at the clock, 9pm. Groaning in frustration I rub my face and get out of bed searching for the nail polish. After some time, my nails are finished and I store the nail polish away, staring at freshly painted nails when someone knocks on the door.
Why's there always someone knocking at my door? I unlock the door with my key and pull it open.
"Sera?" I ask and she pulls me out of the room.
"I'm bored. Let's go bother Aster."
"Wait what? Why?"
"He deserves it obviously and the thing is, it'll be suspicious if it's just me. Now come on, we have to be stealthy. We can't get caught."
I close my door and Sera looks down the hall, motioning for me to come. We stop at the beginning of the girl's wing, looking into the boy's on the other side. The area between the girl and boy's side is fully light with the chandelier hanging from the ceiling and lamps against the wall.
"Are we allowed to do this?"
"No. That's why we need to be careful." She whispers.
I look around nervously and that's when I see Lady Moore on the top of the stairs. I pull Sera back with me behind the wall, putting a finger to my lips, telling her to keep quiet. She peeks around the wall looking up to the stairs.
"She's gone." She whispers and start walking again I gasp looking back up the stairs before hurrying after Sera to the boy's wing. A few boys are still walking around, some with just a towel around they're lower half. I close my eyes, feeling like I was invading their privacy which only made Sera chuckle at my reaction,
When it was clear we approach a room way down the hallway and Sera knocks on it with purpose. I shift looking around anxiously. The door opens with Aster standing with nothing but pants, his upper body covered in sweat and staring at us with terror. He sees Sera and tries to close the door but she stops him, pushing past him.
"I'm busy get out." He groans.
He looks at me, only now realizing that she didn't come alone. "But you can stay anytime." He winks. I blush, looking down at the floor. Who knew he was hiding all that muscles under his clothes. His chest was basically glistening from the sweat. Sera pushes him out of the way and drags me inside, shutting the door.
His room's window was open, letting in fresh air. There's a mat on the floor, books open on pages where exercises are being explained and weights on the floor. It seems he was working out before we came here.
"Are we the first to sneak into you room?" I hear a teasing tone in her voice as she takes in his room.
"No." he scoffs trying to deny but it ends up sounding more like a question. Sera laughs and he looks at her irritated. By his body gesture I could tell he was a bit uncomfortable with us being here. He wasn't used to having girls in his room and I wasn't used to being in a boy's room either. I guess both of us feel uncomfortable, except Sera. She doesn't mind invading his personal space or others for the matter.
"You're not supposed to be in here. Get out!"
"We're just having a bit of fun." She smiles, picking up one of the weights but regrets it immediately as it falls to the floor. Then she moves to his desk, picking up papers. Aster rushes towards her and grabs it from her.
"Stop touching my stuff." He hisses.
"Why scared I might find something?" she smirks, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
Aster pushes her towards the door and opens it with the other hand.
"Fine." She rolls her eyes. "You're so boring you know."
When Sera steps out Aster lets out a sigh of relief and leans against the door. Sera looks up and down the hall making sure it's safe again.
"Sorry for coming so unexpectedly. Sera wouldn't have taken a no for an answer." I whisper. He gives me a gentle smile. "Trust me. I know. But you can always stay. I don't mind having you here." Aster whispers back. I break eye contact and a bit of warmth rushes to my cheek. "It's pretty late. We should go to bed." I mumble before following Sera back to our side. We walk next to a window and I catch movement from outside. I stop walking, turning my head to look outside. Someone was sitting in the roof, his body facing us with eyes piercing directly towards me. His red hair is the only color standing out from all the darkness around him. Then in a blink of an eye, he's gone, and the roof is empty.
I hear Sera gasp and look towards her as she stands a big distance away from me and bows. Confused I turn around slowly and meet his dark eyes. The royal prince. How did he get here so fast? I swallow, remembering Sera was watching us and I bow.
"Girls shouldn't be in the boy's wing. Go to your rooms." He orders, his voice dangerously low. He uses his royal power to command the both of us and my body moves on its own. I turn around to leave, when I feel him grab me by the waist and pulls me flush against his hard chest. He leans down to my ear, his breath cold as he says.
"Don't sneak around. Especially not to a boy's room. You wouldn't like what I plan on doing to him if he ever lays a finger on you."
