The Picnic chapter3
End of Flashback***
Before Striker could bring me my bike key it started to rain. I had to run inside so I wouldn't get soaked.
I walked into the living room and everybody got dead silent. All eyes were on me. Sarah walked over to me and put her arm around me.
"How are you, Octavia?" Sarah asked me.
I noticed everybody staring at me. When Striker walked in everybody went back to talking and ignored that I was even there.
"Sarah offered to let you use her car and she get it tomorrow and we will put your bike in the shed." Striker said handing my bike keys and Sarah's keys to me.
"Thanks Sarah." I said as I turned to hug her.
Striker walked to me Sarah's car. "Drive safe Tavia. Don't think about it to much okay?"
"Striker whose the girl who pasted her drivers test in 8th grade?"
Striker laughed and hit my arm playfully. "Okay, bye Tavia."
"Bye Strike." I closed the door of the black, 2002 Honda and started the engine.

The trees on either side of the road look scary at night. They reach to the sky and cover the road with their eerie shadows.
I always enjoy this part of driving home from King's. The woodland areas, the trees, the fresh air, th- King. He-he loves me. Wait, remember what Striker said. Don't think about it. Don't think about it. Don't thi- a deer jumps out in front of me and I slam on the breaks and swerve around it.
I got out of the car and shooed it away and went back to examine the car. There didn't seem to be any dents or scratches, but ill take a better look in the morning. Right now I need to get home. I opened the door and started the car and finished the drive back to my place. Keeping a good eye out for deer.

I pulled up in my drive way to see a box on the porch. Its a good thing it didn't get wet.
I got out of the car and walked along the pathway to the front door. I unlocked the door and grabbed the box to take it inside.
I sat the somewhat big box on the table and flipped the light on.
I grabbed the piece of paper on top the box and read the small cursive print.
It read:
Dear Octavia,
I know I come off as a player, but the thing is these past couple weeks with you have changed my whole being and you make me so happy. When I'm with you my stomach feels all tingly and when your not there I feel empty inside. My parents say I have to move back to Perry in a house they bought me. They say I wont be here for Prom this year. So I have decided on something but I want to discuss it with you at a picnic on Airport Road Golf Course, Hole 7. There is a great hill to watch the sunset. Please meet me there tomorrow at 6:30p.m.
Sincerely King.
I quietly finished the letter and sat it down. I opened the box which had two roses a stuffed raccoon and a promise ring with two small hearts. An amethyst one and a diamond one. They were our birth months.
I sat down the ring and gifts on the table and began to wonder if I should go to the picnic.
I went into my bathroom and slipped on some black sweats and put on my green tank-top when I heard a knocking at my door.
I went to the front door and unlocked it slowly.
I peaked out but only to be shocked by who I saw standing there.
It was Daniel.
