Tannen Felling was only seventeen when he was reaped for the Sixtieth Hunger Games. Well, he was only seventeen when he volunteered — all to save his older yet not wiser brother and hopefully salvage his family's broken hearts from another tragedy. He was only seventeen when he was carted off to The Capitol like a lamb to the slaughter, expected to return in a coffin rather than a crown. And he was only seventeen when he met her.

Davina Mirage was only seventeen when she became a Stylist for the Sixtieth Hunger Games. Well, she was only seventeen when she was selected to be an apprentice for a Stylist — one in particular who was rumored to fall into retirement any day now, hopefully opening a pathway for her life long dream of being Panem's most renowned fashion designer. She was only seventeen when she set out to prove everyone wrong (mostly her parents) about her impractical wishes. And she was only seventeen when she met him — the seventeen year old boy behind the muse.

There was never supposed to be anything between them. They both knew that very well. He was a Tribute probably meant to die and she was a Capitol princess who would never know the true terror of the Games, only witness it. It only took them two weeks to realize that there was another kind of hope intertwined with the wish that he would survive — the hope that they would see each other again.

And after that, it would take them fifteen years to learn that love isn't always woven in the stars or written in the leather bound fairytales with grand professions and gestures. Sometimes, it's much more simple, practical and unspoken.

Sometimes, it's in between the lines.

I'm not loving this summary because I feel like it doesn't fully capture the angst but I've always wanted to write a Victor-Stylist romance where they slowly fall in love with the small moments. Prepare for pining!!!!

This story will have separate acts — one where they first meet at seventeen, another through the years of Tannen mentoring and Davina as a Stylist for Seven, and then.... Maybe.... The Quell! Dun dun dun!
