ISABELLA'S P.O.V

I stayed by Leo's bed all night, watching his dead-like state, watching him like a hawk. He just lay in bed looking like he's sleeping... Eventually, he opens his eyes, and they were yellow with a black ring to them.

"Isabella?" Leo says in a silvery tone. Which makes his sex appeal even hotter. "What are you doing here?"

I stare at him mouth agape and everything in my body was screaming to just jump on him and have my way with him. I had a feeling that if I had a hard time-fighting Leo's charm before, now it would be impossible.

Leo's frown changes from confusion to one of seduction. 

"I'm-" What am I doing here?

"I can refresh your memory if you like?"

"You can?" 

Leo smiles and sits down on the bed slowly, then he moves in a way that I am suddenly in between his legs. I gulp as I try to be indifferent. I don't lean in, don't make it easy, or seem too keen. Then he brushes my hair back from my shoulder and moves in so close I can feel his lean body pressed up against me. I feel his warmth and already my mind has placed our lips together. But instead, he leans in to caress my neck, slow and gentle. He's making me wait and I can hardly bear it. I want his lips now, I want his kisses. Then he cups my face in his hands and gives me what he knows I want. It's futile to resist him especially since he is being a lot more flamboyant about seducing me...

I open my eyes and turn my body towards Leopold it has been so long since we spent a whole day the way we did yesterday. I thought waking up a hybrid would change him but maybe-

Leo opens his eyes first and they are yellow with a black ring to them, then they switch to the blue I love.

"Miss Hathaway thanks for the release doll, but I didn't order a side of snuggling to it," Leopold says putting a hand on top of mine, take it off his chest making me realize I had been touching him a few second ago, stands up and walk his naked body towards the bathroom. Ok, Leo's beauty has been enhanced and I have a feeling being a  hybrid has something to do with that.

I get up slowly and start picking up my clothes from the floor and start to dress up slowly. The shower is on and a strong smell of axe body wash hit's my nostrils. I roll my eyes at him, is not like he needs it. I give the door to his shower a last look and walk out.

I go straight to my office to pretend to do paperwork when a new name jumps at me from the enrollment list.

Ami Russo. Human. Parents vampires. Born out of a human mother and a vampire father.

Wait? What? Is that possible?!  Can a vampire and a human have a child? I don't have time to dwell on it. As it looks like this girl is coming to school today. I need to learn everything I need to about this girl. So I keep reading. The girl is seventeen years old and was supposed to find out her parents were vampires on her eighteen birthday but they were murdered recently.

Killer unknown. Human police think it was a suicide and they think the girl just ran away. The vampire community is not getting involved in this matter. School year paid for the next five years. She needs a pure vampire to turn her when she turns eighteen, someone is already aware of it and will come when the time comes on her eighteen birthday.

I sigh as the door to my office opens and a timid girl walks in until she stands in front of me. Her hair flows down her back like black ink of a tilted piece of parchment. Her eyes were the ocean, so full of life yet so uncertain. She's wearing jeans and a shirt appropriate for her age. I don't want to accept her in school afraid of her health. The girl lost everything in a day reminding me of myself. She doesn't look like the type to follow the path of revenge. So I'll be her personal bodyguard.

"What's your name?" I already know it, but it would be rude to call her by her name when she hasn't said it first.

"Ami Russo," she says with a brittle and fruity voice.

I get up from my desk and walk towards her picking up her luggage. "Follow me," 

Students have their own wing and usually, I would put any new students there, but there's something about this girl that makes me want to protect her, and she has the money for extra accommodation. So I give her the room next to Alice since it's the closest to me, no way in hell going to get her closer to Leo. "My room is only two doors down that way. Just knock if you need something." She nods. I give her a paper with her schedule. "Now, any question?"

She shakes her head timidly we walk to her dorm room and leave her stuff in it, but since school is still in session I need to show her the whole school. I pinpoint every single classroom and where she has to go, marking it on her map as I show her. By the time she's familiar with her classes, the feeder's room, and the cafeteria, the school is almost over, so we just go to the middle of the school and sit down.

I am going over the rules of the school when all of a sudden Ami lifts her head and stares at something. I am about to snap at her when her heartbeat races making me think it is about to burst out of her chest.

I lift my gaze with annoyance at her and follow where she's looking. Leo is walking into the school with his latest kill on his lips. He wipes the blood with the back of his hands. He's wearing blue jeans, a white tank top, and his favorite leather jacket, open to show the girl a chest full of muscles. His hair is style messy, completing his bad boy look.

Leo's hands slipped back into his jeans pockets, he smirks as he sees some students scurried off from him running away. That makes him laugh. I glare at him, annoy at his action. Leo looks towards where I am sitting down and he's about to avert the gaze to pretend he hasn't seen me until he notices the girl sitting next to me.

"Time for some fun," he whispered to himself, but of course, I heard him. He walks towards us. I fought the urge to get the girl and run with her, that would get Leo more excited.

Leo is tall with his dark hair, pale skin, and the most electric blue eyes which looked odd against the dark hair, but somehow It looks good on him.

Leo looks too old to attend the school as he looked about twenty to twenty-one. He's handsome and his facial features stand out with his pale skin, and his body looks muscled underneath his clothes.

"Well, Well, Well what have we here?" He smirks getting closer to us and stopping in front of the girl, who shivers, and is not in fear. "New student," his accent is British with a hint of Russian. He is putting on his charms.

I sigh. I knew I lost the girl the moment Leo walked into school. Leo stands just in front of her giving him his most charming bad boy smile. Ami is checking him out.

"Nice... To... Um... Nice to meet you," she says nervously.

Leo gives her a full-blown smirk, exactly the reaction he was looking for. "Better keep your wits about you."

Ami looks away.  A maternal instinct I didn't know I have grows. I am just afraid of what this asshole can do and the damage he will do to her heart. I'll be damned if I let him toy with her feelings as he does with mine...

"Leo will not hurt you," It feels stupid to say. It's obvious the girl is feeling a lot of things about Leo but fear is not one of them.

Leo raises an eyebrow, challenging me. I glare at him. She tries to ignore Leo, which makes him laugh.

"I wouldn't say such things. I always have space for more food, "Leo says seductively. He winks at Ami and keeps going to his bedroom.

"Are you ok?" I whisper to Ami. She doesn't respond, she just scoots away from me. I sigh in annoyance. "I'll be right back."

I walk into Leo's dorm room and slam the door shut after me. Leo is laying back in his bed, a leg prompted up, while the other one hangs loosely by the bed as he reads porn.

"Please do come in," he chuckles but the sarcasm in his tone is not lost in me.

"No need to knock since it is my damn school!" I snap at him. "You don't like my rules? Then fucking leave!"

He chuckles not affected by my little tantrum. But he does put the magazine down and sit down to stare at me with his amused smile. "What do you want?" He says bore.

"To talk to you."

"About?" Leo's eyes linger all over my body looking at me in a way that lets me know he's checking me out, distracting me for a moment.

Don't let him win. Don't get distracted.

"About you being an asshole," he laughs harder and is genuine as if my statement was a joke to him. He put both hands on the bed for support.

"What brought this on? I've always been an asshole. If I recall is one of the things you love about me." He looks at me with a smirk.

Was he waiting for confirmation?

"Leave Ami alone. Hell, leave any human girl in this school alone. You want to fuck, feed, go out."

The smirk grows on his lip. "Not your decision," he says bore and going back to the magazine. I hiss under my breath.

"My school," I snap.

"You're my progeny," he retorts back.

"You irritating son of-"

He stands up and is in front of me with a look of command making me close my lips. "Go ahead finish that sentence. Seems like you forgot your place."

"Seems like it doesn't it!" I snap at him.

Leo walks around me in a circle, like a predator does when he's about to pounce. I know what he's doing. He's intimidating me, wanting me to lower my gaze and show him some respect. We have been over the rules before. I know he's giving me a chance to retract myself. But I don't. I lift my gaze and stare him down in defiance. Leo puts a hand around my neck and pulls me towards him.

"What's your issue with me now?"

I wince as he squeezes harder. "I." I try to speak, but he is cutting off my vocal cords. "Ami." I gasp out. His hand softens on the hold, but he doesn't let go. "Leave her alone-" Leo's eyes turn golden with black rings around them. And I know I am dealing with the hybrid.

"Why are you so overprotective over this human in particular?" Leo asks with curiosity.

And just like that. I know he's going to pursue her now.

"I have my reasons," I gasp out.

His grips loosen a little bit more, but a growl escapes his lips. "Don't you dare get overprotective over that Ami girl." Leo's warning is hiding something, something that made me worry even more about Ami, and whoever killed her parents. Either Leo already knew the girl, Adak had already had his claws on her. Or both. Which turns my protective instincts towards her even more.

"I already am-"

"Do I need to go over the vampire rule book with you?"

"No need. I know it by heart. Adak is the head of the council, you are his main assassin. What he says goes, you obey, I have no say in the matter, I just have to listen to you." He lets go of me and pushes me back hard making me fall on my ass.

"Good. Doing stupid things is kind of your lane. I am really fighting the urge to hurt you," he walks towards the door open and slams it shut making me wince then the tears start to slid down my cheek...
