2.24 Alice
Why oh why is it for Leo so easy to find girls? This unfamiliar girl is also a vampire. I continue to walk to my dorm, trying really hard to ignore them sitting so close to each other. Leopold always manages to find a girl that would dip the knife further into the jealousy wound.
"Ugh!" Leo says standing up walking to a trash can and throwing the empty bottle of alcohol on it. "You sound. Just. Like. Her," he snaps, and he stares at me for a second too long, then he turns around and leaves. I stare at Leo's retreating form until I no longer can.
"I'm Alice," I jump startle and turn towards the sweet like voice. I can feel her lips too close to my ears for my liking and for some annoying reason her tone is seductive. I step away from her and turn slowly with a glare on my face deciding that I do not like her. She looks me up and down and the way she's looking at me reminds me oddly like any other guy that ogles at me.
Mischievous lurks in her eyes and lips making her facial features beautiful. This girl has dark green eyes that just drawn you right in as if they held a secret you'd want to find out. Her hair is long and straight, it's light brown with blonde high lights, she has a full bottom lip, and she's wearing tight black leather pants that hang nicely to her waist, and her tank top is too short for my liking, it shows the beginning of the boobs, and I think that's why Leo was talking to her.
"Isabella," I say with the same glare on my face.
Why is she smiling so damn much?
"Ah, so you are the headmistress of this school." I look towards the stairs that will take me away from her. "It is really nice to meet you, Isabella," she extends her hands towards me. I look down at her hand with a bored expression. But I shake her stupid hand. She closes her hands around mine and pulls me to her into an unwanted hug.
"Hmph!" I groan.
She steps back, still smiling. "Look's like we have something in common."
I stare at her suspiciously, fighting the urge not to look where Leo left.
"Like?" She walks to the main room and I follow her out of curiosity. She sits on one of the couches and I sit across from her.
"The first person I found in this school is that Leo guy. Apparently, I was asking him too many questions. Seems like you to like to talk?" I feel a smile threatening to get out. It's something Leo does hate about me. "Well according to him. But I don't see it. All you have managed to talk to me is a word at a time." The smile I so hardly was trying to keep away gets loose and I can feel it stretching all over my face, despite my annoyance with this girl. This girl is too damn charming for her own good. "Oh, and she does have a smile, in that grumpy body of hers." She says with a tone full of sarcasm.
"Sometimes... I keep forgetting how to do it," I murmur still smiling.
"Hang with me and I'll teach you." There was something about her tone and that sentence but I can't put my finger on it. So I decided to ignore it. "Tell me something about you."
I frown at her. "Why?"
She rolls her eyes but keeps her friendly smile. "Back to one word at a time. Huh? You look like a really interesting person to be around-"
"You're finding me more interesting than Leopold?" I ask in disbelieve. She smiles brightly as if understanding came to her.
"You don't have to worry about me ever being interested in your Leopold."
"And why is that?" I say crossing my arms over my chest and staring at her. I hope she was already in love.
"Because I'm a lesbian. You think if I was interested in him. I would have stayed here with you?" The glare on my face slowly dies down to one of embarrassment. "I like you," she says bluntly.
"But you don't' know me-"
"Well, that changes today. You're hot," I laugh and relax at the same time. Alice stands up and sits next to me. "Let's start with the easy question's first." I nod "How long have you been a vampire?" I smile.
"Only a year and some month."
"What?" She giggles. "You are just a baby? It makes me feel like a cougar." I laugh harder.
"Wouldn't the age we got turned to be the one that counts?"
"I'm still older." She says in a taunting tone.
"Oh?"
"Yup. I was turned when I was twenty-five. You?"
I pout. "Eighteen," I murmur and she laughs triumphantly.
"You're definitely a baby."
"Shut up," I say feeling a little embarrassed. She grabs my hand and puts it on her lap. I was about to tell her I have something with personal space when she stared at my eyes and looks serious for a second.
"What's the story between you and that Leo guy."
I open my mouth to tell her, that she's diving into personal things way too fast but then close my mouth. Some part of me is dying for a friend. Losing Angela because she fell in love with the same guy has taken a toll on me, and there's something about Alice that just scream's trust. "It's a lengthy story," I warn her.
"I have all the time in the world," she says with a warm smile. "Tell me when you first met him."
"Well, the first time I met Leo. I was five years old. Someone killed both of my parents right in front of my eyes. I can't remember much, but I do remember their death. My family and I were having dinner together. All of a sudden my mom stood up. She whispered to me, hide. Like any other normal kid, I chose to hide under the table. I put both of my hands around my mouth to muffled any sound. The door burst open and my mom and dad went to face the monster. After long moments of horrible noises. The monster spoke. "Where's your daughter." I put more pressure on my mouth with my hands. The monster chuckled at whatever my mom did. My mom was suddenly Elevated in the air. A small cried escape my lips. He elevated my mom in the air so I would make a sound. I remember him saying gotcha. My mom's last words were please before I heard the awful sound of him breaking her neck and threw her body to the floor like she was nothing."
At this point, tears are freely running down my cheek. I can't believe now that I am talking about it how much I remember and how I am telling Alice like I am reciting a story. I take a deep breath and continue.
I remember my dad letting out a yell of rage as he tried to attack what I thought back then as a monster. It was futile. Jeans and boots are all I saw at first. He just stood there... All of a sudden he ducked and all I saw were black eyes and a face of a monster. I remember him saying boo and I don't know what he was expecting me to do, but I ball up my hands into a fist and I remember thinking to bring it up monster."
"So... Leo was the one that killed your parents?" I wipe the tears off my cheek and nod.
"Yes. I spent my whole life from that moment on looking for Leo. I dodge vampire hunters and escape a horrible relationship as I focus on just finding him... Finally, when I turned eighteen I found a vampire that knew who I was looking for and I hunted him. He didn't tell me his name but gave me the location. I thought It would be easy to find him."
"But you didn't remember what he looked like?" Alice asks staring straight into my eyes.
"I was five. All I remember was the black eyes and calling him a monster." She nod only. "Leo was sent to kill me with my entire family but for some reason, he spared me as a kid. But he was planning on killing me later on. I know he was hurting me right back, the thing is he knew what I look like. He decided instead of killing me fast to make me fall in love with him... He claims now that it was the only way to save me life, but I do wonder-"
"If he wanted you to fall for him before killing you?"
"Would he be that cruel?" I meant to just think it, but it came out at loud.
"I think he would Isabella. We, vampires, tend to be cruel, especially when we have a victim in mind. If I was sent out to kill you and see how hot you look especially after only seen you when you were a five-year-old. I have to admit even I would try to get you in my bed, before snapping your neck."
"Very charming and poetic Alice," I murmur. Alice just give's me a flirtatious smile and winks. "So he did try to get me to fall for him when I was human, but right when I was falling for him I found out he was the one that killed my parents. I went to kill him. He won the battle and turned me instead."
"To sire you," Alice murmurs. I stare at her wondering about that.
Would Leo know being turned by him intensify my feelings?
"Your story sounds like a romance book gone bad," Alice murmurs and there's an annoyance in her tone.
Why would she be mad? We just met.
"That's a really nice way of putting my romance story," I say sarcastically.
"What happened after he turned you?" She asks.
"We talked it out. We decided to be together. His maker had other plans. He wanted him away from me. So Leo left me right after turning me. For a whole year. I did not know what to do. Leo's maker did something and I could hear a voice that showed me how to turn off my feelings.
"Did her truly had to go?" Alice's tone changed from charming to one of annoyance.
"Yes," Alice stares at me with the same disbelieving look.
"I never have seen a maker caring this much. But maybe your Leo might be telling you the truth. He left alone?"
"He didn't leave alone. He took his other progeny at the time and a girl I used to be friends with."
"Use to?" Alice asks.
"She was in love with Leo too. So when he had to leave. He took the opportunity that she was in love with him and took her with him-"
"You want a drink?" Alice says all of a sudden standing up.
Yes, my life is fuck up. Alice goes to the made-up bar and I just follow her. She picks vodka and I know right there. We have a lot of things in common and I already start to love her as if she was my own flesh and blood. Alice and I were meant to be best friends.
I sit by the counter. Alice serves a glass and hands it to me then she makes herself another one. "Well, my story is not a soap opera-like yours," she murmurs and gulps another shot of vodka.
"Soap operas tend to have a happy ending," I point out.
"I was born at a time where liking girls was a big no-no. You could literally be burned in the stakes as a witch. I met a girl and I fell in love with her. Lucky for me, she was a vampire and she liked me right back."
"Liked?" Alice smiles at me and drinks the third glass of vodka.
"I'm a lesbian. My maker was bisexual." Ah. "We spend ten years together after she turned me. She got killed by hunters and helped me escape as her last act of love for me." Alice made herself another glass and gulp it down. That memory was still fresh in her mind. "Ever since then. It has been just me. With a few flings here and there," Alice sounds so lonely. "So. I decided to take a vacation of my awesome life and come to school and get an education."
"Well, the school practically runs itself I don't know what I'm doing. I turned my feelings off when Leo left me and killed the headmistress of this school then took over."
"Never turn your feelings off. Is not healthy."
"Tell me about it."
"Could I have a room next to you?"
"Sure,"
"Hang with me more. I'll get you back to a healthy life."
I have Alice to my left, and Leo to might right. This shall be interesting...
