There are times when you feel so helpless that nothing makes sense. That is how Jungkook is feeling right now. He didn't know what to do, all his plans to make it up to Taehyung had gone down the drain the minute Jin had informed him that Taehyung had taken a break and gone to Jeju.

Ofcourse, it was kind of understandable. Taehyung was hurting. He needed to go away. But Jungkook had thought that the elder might come back after a week or so.

Obviously, that wasn't the case because Taehyung didn't return after 2 weeks. Later he found out that the break had been extended to another 2 weeks.

Jungkook just wanted the elder to come back so that he could approach him and tell him the truth and clear all doubts.

But it looks like that would have to be on hold because destiny is honestly fucking with him right now.

'Fuck!', Jungkook exclaimed, his tongue poking at his inner cheeks as he looked at the Instagram post of the elder.

Never had he imagined how painful it will feel to see Taehyung in the arms of another but that was exactly what was happening right now. He atleast now knows how Taehyung must have felt when he saw Lisa and Jungkook together.

Looking at the picture again, Jungkook couldn't help but feel a sense of dread fill his stomach.

Why was Taehyung introducing Kim Jisoo as his fiancee?

He quickly dialed a number, hoping what his mind was telling him was wrong.

'JK?', Jin hyung said as soon as he answered.

'Please tell me its not what I'm thinking. Please Hyung', Jungkook spoke in one breath, almost pleading.

Jin sighed loudly.

'I'm sorry Jk, its true. Grandfather bought the proposal from Kim corporations. Jisoo is the daughter of the chairman. Taehyung accepted it'

Those words were enough for Jungkook to lose his footing. He dropped to the ground, his voice all shaky as he spoke.

'Is there any way? Please hyung. You know this isn't right. He is hurt so he is making a compromise. Please tell me there is a way'

Jin heard the desperation in Jungkook's voice. He ofcourse knew why Tae was doing this. He was pissed at his younger brother for making a decision like this when he wasn't thinking straight. It's like the universe doesn't want the two lovers to ever unite.

'Jk. There is a way but.. I don't know if it will work.'

Jungkook was okay with any hope as long as it meant there was a chance.

'Anything hyung. Please'

Jin sighed loudly. This idea is going to come and bite him in the ass. He just knew it.

'He isn't engaged yet Jk. Grandfather and Jisoo's family agreed to let Jisoo and Tae get to know each first. If they both like each other then they will make a decision. Tae will obviously say yes, even if he doesn't like her. So...'

Jungkook felt the wheels of his head turning, 'so we need to make Jisoo not like him'

'Yeah. They are meeting again, for dinner where Tae will introduce Jisoo to all his friends. I'm sure he didn't inform you.'

'Where is the dinner gonna be held Hyung and the time and day please?'

'Mario's, on Saturday, 7pm'

Jungkook smiled. He knew it was going to be hard but hell, at this point he was going to do anything to make sure Taehyung doesn't do anything stupid. Even if that means crashing a dinner party that he wasn't even invited to.

'Thanks hyung. And uh, thank you for convincing them to get to know each other first. I know it must have been your idea,' Jungkook said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

Jin laughed. 'Ofcourse, I wasn't about to let my baby brother fuck up his happiness because he is too selfless to try to come between you and your so called fiance. That boy is too kind hearted and he makes stupid decisions when he is hurting. '

Jungkook laughed as well. He knows how the elder is. His Taehyung is one of a kind, no doubt.

'Thank you Hyung. I'll see you at the party. '

When the line disconnected, Jungkook still stayed on the floor, his mind coming up with ideas on how to make Jisoo say no to the engagement.

This was gonna be a hard situation to deal with.

It was saturday, the day where Taehyung will introduce Jisoo to all his friends. Ofcourse, excluding Jungkook.

Taehyung knew that news must have reached Jungkook by now. He should have invited the younger, no doubt that all his friends would ask about it. But he couldn't bring himself to call Jungkook. It was for the best.

He knew in his heart that what he was doing was wrong. He didn't love Jisoo. He didn't even like her. It wasn't like Jisoo was bad or something. She was actually very sweet and humble, which was a rarity to find in rich people. The problem is that Taehyung's heart is already taken.

He walked up to the table that his friends were sitting at and he felt his breath hitch as his eyes met none other than Jungkook's.

He realized that Jin must have informed the younger, obviously his brother was oblivious to the tension between the two. So he can't really blame his brother. None the less, it was gonna happen sooner or later, so sooner it is.

Taehyung managed a smile as he approached them, his hand holding out for Jisoo to take.

'Hey guys. Meet Jisoo.', he said as he smiled at her.

Jisoo was very beautiful. That was the first thing Jungkook noticed when he saw Taehyung and her. Yeah. She was very pretty. But not prettier than Taehyung.

For Jungkook, Taehyung was the most beautiful person he had ever met. Sure, the elder was hot and handsome, but there was this undeniable prettiness that made Taehyung stand out. He always looked so.. ethereal. Like he was an angel who was walking amongst mortals.

He stood up, just like his hyungs and extended a hand to shake with Jisoo.

'Hello. I'm Jungkook. One of Taehyung's bestfriends.', he said, while sparing a glance at Taehyung.

He saw how Taehyung looked at him. The adoration was still there and that made Jungkook feel a little at ease. The elder still felt something for him. That was a good sign.

The dinner went well. Jisoo was a very nice girl, and she was good at conversing. Taehyung smiled at Jisoo from time to time, but his eyes always seemed to come back to Jungkook, who was staring intently at Jisoo, like he was trying to figure something out.

When Jisoo stood up to go to the restroom, Jungkook finally looked up at Taehyung, taking the elder's appearance all in. He noticed the dark circles, the way the elder bit his lips when he was nervous or apprehensive.

He knew Taehyung knew that he was looking at him and he also knew that Taehyung was purposefully avoiding his gaze.

'So, do you like her?', Jungkook's question bought a silence over the table. His hyungs all stopped talking at once.

Taehyung gulped. He knew why the table was silent. Everyone knew that the two youngest had hooked up.

'Yeah. I do', he replied.

Jungkook smirked. He knew the elder was lying because of how he averted his eyes.

Jungkook stood up, walked to where Taehyung was sitting, and kneeled down to his ears.

'Liar. You can't like someone else when you are in love with me Tae'

Taehyung stopped breathing, literally. His eyes were wide with shock. He looked up to see Jungkook staring intently at him, his face so close that he could kiss him if he just closed that distance.

'Atleast don't lie to yourself baby. 'Jungkook smiled as he saw how Taehyung's eyes landed on his lips.

Turning around and standing straight, Jungkook looked at all his friends, who were staring at him and Taehyung with shocked eyes. Except Jin. Ofcourse, they heard what the younger had said.

'So I know you guys heard that I'm engaged. The truth is that the girl is just one of my good friends. My father was pestering me to date and I wasn't ready to be in a relationship. He wasn't stopping anytime soon. Lisa was also tired of her parents pushing her to date a guy because she's a lesbian. So we kinda agreed to pretend to date. It went out of hand when her parents and mine announced that we should get engaged. It's not legal. We just exchanged rings. Lisa is dating a girl right now. Sorry for keeping this from you. I was hoping to break up in front of my parents so that they get the idea but before I could, shit went to hell. So yeah.', with that Jungkook walked off towards the restroom, leaving a very shocked Taehyung and very shocked hyungs. Except Jin who was busy eating, while having a smile on his face.

Oh JK, Jin thought. You surely know how to play.

Jungkook didn't come back to dinner after that. Taehyung was still a little shaken up from what the younger had said. He couldn't believe that he had jumped to conclusions without giving Jungkook a chance to explain.

He knew he needed to apologise. He also knew that he kind of created a mess by saying yes to Jisoo.

How the hell was he going to make things right, he doesn't know. The dinner was very quiet after Jungkook's departure.

Jimin was kind of feeling guilty. He had advised Taehyung to take a break without even thinking about asking Tae to let Jungkook explain. Ofcourse at that time, it hadn't crossed his mind that there might have been more to the truth.

Yoongi, Namjoon and Hoseok didn't know what to think to be honest. They kinda knew the situation, a little bit. They knew the two youngest had hooked up. And then they had found out about Jungkook's engagement. And then Taehyung's break. So they kind of figured out that the two had a fall out or something. But hearing Jungkook proclaim proudly that Taehyung loves him, that was a shock in itself. They knew that there was attraction there, but love?

Jin, on the other hand, couldn't help but look at Taehyung. His baby brother looked worried. He knew just by looking at Taehyung's reaction that Taehyung was worried about how to get out of this marriage situation. And since he knew Taehyung had a selfless heart that he will never want to hurt anyone, especially a girl, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

'Umm, Jisoo?', he spoke up, breaking the awkward silence that had taken over the group.

Jisoo looked up and smiled. 'Yes Jin Hyung?'

'Can I talk to you alone for a minute? Would like to know you better?'

Jisoo nodded, rather eagerly. She had noticed the tensed atmosphere when she returned from the restroom, plus Jungkook was no where to be seen.

As Jin led Jisoo towards the private gardens of the restaurant, he tried to come up with a way to break the silence.

He apparently didn't need to as Jisoo spoke before him.

'Um hyung? Please don't mind me asking but did something happen? The others were so quiet and Jungkook was missing'

Jin sighed, ' yeah. That's kind of why I wanted to talk to you. Be honest Jisoo. Do you like Taehyung?'

Jisoo was taken aback by the question, definitely not expecting that.

'He is nice hyung. I won't say that I don't like him. He is a good man'

Jin hummed.

'My brother is a soft soul. He loves hard and when he hurts, he makes stupid decisions. Before the proposal for your hand came, Taehyung was hurting because of some misunderstandings. And he said yes to the proposal because he didn't want to disappoint Grandfather and it was kind of his way to try to make a compromise.'

Jisoo was confused. She had noticed the way Taehyung had seemed lost in the first meeting between them. Like he was there but not fully there. Now she kind of understood but a few things were still confusing her.

'So you are saying that he was heartbroken? '

'Yeah', Jin said. 'He was heartbroken but honestly, it was a misunderstanding between him and, uh, his lover'

Jisoo hummed. She had an idea of who the lover might be.

'Its Jungkook, isn't it?', she asked. She had to make sure.

Jin looked at her surprised. 'How did you know ?'

Jisoo laughed at the expression of the elder.

'Its honestly not hard to see. Ever since we entered the restaurant, Taehyung seemed to be looking at Jungkook and trying not to make it obvious. Even Jungkook was doing it. Plus when I came back from the restroom, only Jungkook was missing and Taehyung looked so... well lost'

Jin nodded, still surprised that the girl was so observant.

'Yeah. Those two idiots love each other but they are idiots so can't say much. I wanted to talk to you because I don't want my brother to make stupid decisions. Honestly, knowing how he is, he will say yes to the marriage so that you don't get hurt. But I know that you will get hurt because he will never be able to love you'

Jisoo hummed. She knew that. Jisoo wanted to feel love. Wanted to be loved. Taehyung had seemed perfect for her. But it seemed that Taehyung was already taken. Jisoo is not a girl who will ever come between two lovers.

'Dont worry hyung. I'll say no to the marriage. I will never come between two lovers'

Jin couldn't stop himself from pulling Jisoo into a hug. He was so happy. Happy that finally, the mess will be solved and happier that Jisoo was a nice girl who understood the situation.

He was just too happy.
