Jamie: "Now what kind of crazy ability do you have?"

Cate and Nathan draw their bats and the others ready their stances.

James: "I'm just human."

Nathan: "Say what now?"

James: "I may not have powers like the others, but..."

James readies his stance.

James: "... I'm the one with the technological expertise."

Everyone rushes towards James simultaneously.

Adam: "The brains of the group."

James makes a light cut on everyone with a single strike.

Nathan: "So that means you're easy mode."

A faint, blue light is seen from James's covered left eye.

James: "Who said that being the brains makes me easy?"

James does a backflip and adjusts his footing.

Cate: "What's up with your eye?"

James moves his hair out of the way, revealing a cybernetic left eye before returning the hair to it's original position.

James: "I was born half-blind and my eye received a little upgrade."

James switches to twin pistols as Cate draws her revolver, Adam has his knife, Nathan draws his blade, and Jamie readies a grenade.

Adam: "Did it hurt?"

James: "I've had it since birth. I couldn't feel a thing."

Jamie pulls the pin.

Jamie: "Who cares as long as we kick your ass?!"

Jamie tosses the grenade, but a bullet from James detonates it midair.

Cate: "Did you just say we?"

Jamie suddenly locks up as the others assume positions.

James: "I'm glad to finally hear it."

James cancels out any bullets coming his way with one pistol and defends against Nathan with the other as Rocky rushes towards him.

Cate: "YOU'RE glad to hear it?!"

Jamie shakes it off and readies her shotgun.

James: "Why wouldn't I?"

James jumps back and switches to a lance.

Jamie: "(pissed) Shut your damn mouth and die already!"

Jamie is a millimeter away from James's skin.

James: "Nice try."

James slams the shotgun out of the way just before she pulls the trigger.

Adam: "He can see every move we make!"

James switches to a knife.

James: "My eye allows me to read your movements and judge the percentages of your next possible move."

Rocky manages to sink his jaws into James's leg.

James: "Catch."

James does a frontflip and flings Rocky straight into Jamie.

Nathan: "Are you alright?"

Rocky is struggling to get off of Jamie.

Jamie: "(struggling) Can't get much worse!"

James walks towards Jamie.

Cate: "Jamie! Get up!"

James kneels next to Jamie.

James: "Jamie Rilliae..."

The knife vanishes as James holds out his hand.

Nathan: "What the hell?"

Jamie: "(struggling) What are you-"

James: "... it's time that you learn of the hell Lucifer put me and the others through."

The sun fades beyond the horizon.

Nathan: "What?!"

Two years ago...

Jamie and Rocky are huddled in the rubble of a fallen house, battered and bruised.

Jamie: "(crying) Why...?

Jamie holds the whimpering Rocky close.

Jamie: "(crying) WHY???!!!"

Two men in white uniforms locate the two.

Soldier 1: "A girl and a wolf?"

The soldiers reach out their hands, but Rocky begins to get defensive.

Jamie: "(crying) Please Rocky..."

Rocky begins to ease up.

Jamie: "(crying) ... I don't want to lose you too!"

Present day...

Jamie: "(tearing up) He really is hell itself..."

Adam: "Glad to hear it partner."
