Two hours later...

Nathan: "(muffled) Finally..."

Everyone has finally exited the caves after two hours of running and fighting.

Cate: "(exhausted) How many times did we have to turn around?"

Adam: "Three times."

Jamie, Adam, and Rocky are still able to keep going.

Nathan: "(muffled) How can you keep going?"

Jamie: "By being actual soldiers."

???: "Finally!"

Cate: "H-Huh?!"

Everyone looks above the exit to find Jade sitting on top of the exit.

Jade: "So you guys are this squad we've been hearing about."

Jade jumps down onto ground level, creating a small crater beneath her.

Adam: "So you must be friends with Jake and Jay."

Jade draws her hammer.

Jade: "It's Jade."

Cate: "So your names have a running theme."

Cate aims her rifle at Jade's heart.

Jade: "If you think that knowledge will save you, then you're sorely mistaken."

The bullet bounces off Jade's heart.

Nathan: "It bounced off?"

Jade: "You want to see how it felt?"

Jade readies her hammer as she takes a step forward, cracking the ground beneath her.

Adam: "I don't think so."

She pushes off of the ground and lunges towards Cate.

Jade: "Agony is me."

Jade's hammer slams Cate six inches into the mountainside.

Cate: "(coughing blood) What the hell?!"

Several of Cate's bones are shattered.

Nathan: "You hit like a truck!"

Jade draws her sword.

Jade: "Thanks. Not very many people talk about that."

Jamie looks at Jade with confidence as Rocky begins to growl.

Jamie: "Do you honestly think we're afraid?"

Jade swings the blade over her shoulder as the golden glow forms on Jamie's chest.

Jade: "Glad to hear it! (in head) That must be the glow Jay mentioned."

Jamie pulls out her shotgun as Rocky lunges towards Jade.

Nathan: "I think that we're fucked."

Jamie defends a sword swing with her shotgun.

Jade: "(in head) She really can hold her own!"

Rocky digs his fangs into Jade's left leg.

Adam: "I don't think we are Nathan."

Jade: "You honestly think that hurts?"

Jade's body dissolves into the shadows, causing Rocky to plop onto the floor.

Jamie: "No."

Several years ago...

Jamie and her brother are currently sparring against each other in the woods.

Jamie's Brother: "That's seventeen to zero."

Young Jamie: "(whining) Go easy on me!"

Jamie kicks a nearby tree.

Jamie's Brother: "(chuckling) I'm trying, but your moves are so predictable."

Jamie begins marching back home.

Present day...

Jamie: "You really think that'll help you?"

The golden light begins to form.

Adam: "(in head) That light again."

Jamie catches a surprise attack from Jade's morning star as she reforms behind Jamie.

Jade: "How'd you see me?"

Jamie yanks Jade towards her and drop kicks her in the gut.

Jamie: "I didn't. You're just predictable."

Jade didn't absorb a good chunk of the blow.

Nathan: "So her absorption has a limit."

Jade: "(shaking it off) Not bad."

She draws her axe.

Jade: "(in head) I'd better try and get away after this next attack."

Adam yanks Cate out of the wall.

Cate: "(weakly) She's got one hell of an arm."

Adam: "Save your strength. We'll get you some medical attention at Geil."

Jade begins an attack with the force of Jamie's kick she did manage to absorb.

Jamie: "Rocky, go drag that idiot away."

Rocky bites down on Nathan's shirt collar and drags him away as Jamie draws her knife.

Nathan: "(awkwardly) This is about as humiliating as it gets."

Several years ago...

Young Jamie: "If he knows what I'll do with my fists..."

A young Jamie is practicing a kick focused fighting style in the middle of the forest at night with a young Rocky eagerly watching.

Young Jamie: "... I'll just try kicking!"

Present day...

Jade: "(in head) Now!"

Jade unleashes her attack, but Jamie dives underneath it and slits Jade's leg.

Jamie: "You're done."

Jade dissolves into shadows and gets away.

Adam: "Huh?"

Adam realizes the situation.

Jamie: "She ran away when she had the advantage?"

Adam supports Cate and begins to walk.

Adam: "Come on."

Jamie: "... fine."

Jamie and Rocky walk ahead.

Nathan: "WHAT ABOUT ME???!!!"

Cate: "(weakly) You're fine."

Nathan stumbles back up.

Nathan: "... this is getting old."

They push forward...
