Several minutes later...

Nathan: "I see the light!"

Jamie: "And I see that you're face painted red within the next five minutes."

The group has finally exited the school and is no facing a ruined building at the edge of town.

Adam: "We're almost at Jien so try to-"

???: "(sighing) Just when my game was getting good."

Jay steps out from behind the building as he shuts off his game.

Cate: "Who're you?"

Jay: "Jay Kros."

Nathan: "Jay? Not Jake?"

Jay draws his daggers.

Jay: "If you think Jake was your worst nightmare..."

His eyes glow purple as two more daggers float beside him.

Jay: "... then you really are clueless."

The others ready their weapons.

Jamie: "So you can have shit float around you? Already a disappointment."

Rocky begins to growl.

Jay: "(in head) I only need to weaken them. Jamie holds some kind of meaning to Jacob, but what could it be?"

Jay notices a faint, golden glow in Jamie's chest.

Jay: "A glow?"

Cate aims her rifle at Jay's head.\

Jay: "I'm already in your heads."

Jay dodges the bullet last second as Rocky and Jamie close in on Jay.

Adam: "We've got you!"

However, Jamie and Rocky only end up hitting each other as Jay is nowhere to be seen.

Nathan: "Where'd he go?!"

Jay stands behind Nathan and Adam as all four daggers each end up in the each of the squad members' backs.

Jay: "You miss me?"

They rip them out and begin to ooze their own blood on the ground.

Cate: "(in pain) He got behind-"

Jay has warped into the middle of the squad members.

Jay: "(sighing) I know what you think and I can move faster than your eyes can keep track of."

Adam: "Teleportation?"

Jay: "Win this man a prize!"

Jay draws his revolver.

Jay: "So how much longer until you've had enough?"

Jamie: "When you're lying on the floor."

Jamie pulls a pin on one of her grenades.

Jay: "You really think that I'll-"

The grenade explodes right in front of Jay.

Nathan: "No way he-"

Jay bashes Nathan in the back of the skull with a single backhand.

Jay: "I'm also in your head."

Nathan falls to his knees.

Cate: "No! Nathan!"

Cate rushes up to Nathan.

Jay: "Are you done yet?"

Adam: "(in head) What kind of people are on my side now?"

Adam puts his weapons away.

Adam: "I'll save my own skin."

Jamie's fire still burns bright with Rocky.

Jamie: "Coward."

Jay points his revolver at Rocky.

Jay: "(sighing) Seriously?"

Jay draws a set of nunchuks as Jamie rushes towards Jay with a kick ready to bash his skull in.

Jamie: "Unlike some people, I actually fight!"

Predictably, Jay teleports behind Jamie and slams her back with the nunchuks  and sends her flying into a broken wall as Rocky rushes towards Jay.

Jay: "You've forced my hand."

Jay fires a single bullet into Rocky's side as Jamie watches him fall onto the ground, whimpering.

Jamie: "(pissed) You..."

Jamie gets back on her feet as the golden light forms again.

Jamie: "(pissed) ... no one ever hurts Rocky on my watch!"

Several years ago...

Young Jamie: "Oh no!"

A young Jamie is exploring the woods as she discovers a wolf pup with an injured leg and whimpering next to it's dead mother.

Young Jamie: "You poor thing!"

An older boy with dark blue pants, black hair, red, polo shirt, and brown sneakers catches up with Jamie.

Boy: "This puppy..."

Jamie is beginning to cry.

Boy: "I'll run home and get some rubbing alcohol and bandages. You stay here."

Young Jamie: "(crying) O-Okay brother..."

Her brother rushes back as Jamie rushes towards the puppy.

Young Jamie: "(crying) I won't let you die."

The puppy looks at Jamie with hope in it's eyes.

Present day...

Jamie: "(pissed) You're going to regret that!"

Jamie readies her stance.

Jay: "You know that you can't land an attack on me."

Jay teleports around Jamie as Rocky's whimpers grow louder.

Jamie: "Burning Diamond!"

Her legs make a single, burning, roundhouse kick that slams Jay in the jaw.

Jay: "(in head) Nice one. Guess you really are my equal."

Jay begins teleporting away.

Jamie: "(pissed) You get-"

Jay: "I'd save that mutt's life if I were you."

Jay fades from sight.

Adam: "She really cares for Rocky..."

Jamie rushes up to Rocky.

Jamie: "You bastards want to be useful? Then help me get Rocky someplace safe!"

Nathan: "(dizzy) Yeah, yeah..."

Everyone picks up Rocky and awkwardly shuffle down the path leading towards Jien Outpost...
