Within an hour, Joseph and Eryth arrive at the coal mine, where a guard is out front.

Guard: "Who're you kid? Get lost!"

Joseph pulls out the letter.

Joseph: "I am Joseph Yeweys appreciate to Sage Yeweys of the Light Rune."

Eryth: "I'm the emissary of God, the chosen is here."

The guard does a quick analysis of the letter.

Guard: "Follow me."

The guard leads Joseph and Eryth through the deep, spiraling pathways of the mines.

Joseph: "Life here is..."

Eryth: "A hell hole."

They come to a man in an expensive looking suit.

Guard: "These two request to see you boss."

Boss: "I only see a kid."

Eryth: "(annoyed) How rude can you be?!"

Boss: "(shocked) Why are you two here?"

Joseph: "This letter from Sage Yeweys will explain everything."

The boss does a quick skim of the letter and immediately shreds it to pieces.

Boss: "I don't buy anything those Sages say."

Eryth: "(annoyed) Then how do you explain me?!"

Boss: "Take them away."

The guard grabs Joseph's arm in one hand and Eryth in another and begins to drag them off.

Eryth: "(grunting) Let me go!"

Guard: "If the boss doesn't believe, I must obey."

Joseph: "(struggling) Do you even have a will of your own?!"

Guard: "No."

Joseph: "Sorry to do this!"

Joseph slugs the guard in the face.

Guard: "You little..."

Joseph puts his hands together.

Joseph: "Cover your eyes Eryth!"

Joseph uses the Light Rune to blind the guard as Eryth covers her eyes.

Eryth: "(jumping onto Joseph's shoulder) I can lead you through here!"

Joseph dashes back to the boss and punches him in the face.

Joseph: "See ya!"

Joseph follows a path heading right.

Boss: "You little! All men! Apprehend the boy without a number!"

Guards begin chasing Joseph.

Eryth: "Left!"

Joseph slides to the left while...

Boss's Voice: "(echoing) All men apprehend the boy without a number!"

A few guards around C-137 rush off.

Guard: "No one is getting out!"

C-137: "(smiling) This is my chance!"

C-137 draws a Rune into the dirt as flames erupt from his hand.

C-137: "Rune #3 Flame!"

The guard is burned to a crisp as slaves begin to rush past several armed guards.

C-137: "(smiling) Freedom!"

A-99 walks up to her brother.

A-99: "Run!"

As the two begin to run...

Joseph: "It looks like our interference lead to a rebellion!"

Eryth: "The bond is getting stronger now! Middle pathway!"

Joseph continues his dash to the bottom...

C-137: "(smiling) We're getting out of-"

A-99: "(tripping) No!"

A-99 tripped on a rock and her leg begins to bleed.

C-137: "No!"

C-137 rushes back to help his sister.

A-99: "It's no use! I can't run like this!"

A guard dashes toward the two.

A-99: "Go! I'll be alright!"

C-137 begins to cry.

C-137: "(crying) I can't leave you here!"

A-99: "Yes you can!"

C-137 wipes away his tears.

C-137: "(sniffling) I'll be back!"

C-137 gets away just before the guard catches him.

Joseph: "How's that bond doing!"

Eryth: "Duck!"

Joseph stops in front of a dozen guards.

Joseph: "(ducking) Why?!"

A kid with messy, blond hair draws a Rune in the dirt.

C-137: "Rune #7 Ice!"

Icicle lances impale half of the guards.

Eryth: "That's why!"

Joseph: "Oh..."

The kid walks up to Joseph.

C-137: "You're the kid the guards are after. I'm C-137."

Eryth jumps onto C-137's shoulder.

Eryth: "We've got who we're here for! Let's go!"

Joseph gives C-137 the bracelet with all of the Runes.

Joseph: "Listen, we need to get out of here! The Sage of Light needs to meet the chosen."

C-137: "What?!

Joseph blinds the remaining guards.

Joseph: "C'mon!"

The three make a mad dash to the outside, taking out any guards in their way, until the end...

Joseph: (relieved) The exit!"

A bright light covers their eyes.

Boss: "Not so fast!"

The boss blocks the pathway.

Boss: "Do you have any idea how much these repairs are going to cost because of you!?"

Eryth: "(annoyed) The only reason why this happened is because you wouldn't let us do what we need to do!"

Boss: "It doesn't matter! Money is what makes the world stay in motion! I'll put you two and C-137 back to work. Yeweys will pay a nicely for you all!"

The boss uses the Earth Rune to build a wall around himself.

C-137: "I made a promise to A-99, and you're not going to stop me anymore!"

C-137 uses the Iron Rune to stab right through the wall and the boss.

Joseph: "Holy shit!"

Eryth: "Just go!"

The three arrive outside.

C-137: "The sun..."

Joseph: "Follow me. I'll take you to the home of the Light Sage."

C-137 follows Joseph through the lively city of Lio as he experiences new and exciting things like sweets and the fresh air.

Joseph: "Here we are."

The three enter a large house in the center of Lio.

Light Sage: "You're back!"

Joseph: "It wasn't easy, but..."

C-137 enters.

Eryth: "This is C-137, the chosen one."

The sage analyzes the boy closely.

Light: "I feel immense energy from his body, there is no mistaking it, but I believe that you have a real name."

C-137: "Who is the chosen?"

Joseph: "The chosen is the one who was chosen to one day, master the 14 Runes of Vaile and unlock the 15th Rune."

Eryth: "It looks like it's you and we need to call you something other than C-137."

Jack: "I always wanted my name to be Jack..."

Light Sage: "Well, then I guess your name will forever be Jack Yeweys."

Jack: "(smiling) Thanks!"

Light Sage: "I will also have the local tailor make you something nicer than those rags."

Joseph: "My name is Joseph Yeweys, Jack and for a while, you'll be training with me."

Jack and Joseph shake hands.

Jack: "(smiling) Pleasure to be working with you!"
