The group had to catch a break shortly after dealing with the 13th Crown and had some rest.

Next morning...

Jade: "(yawning) No time to sleep guys, we're almost at Thio."

Jade smashes her hammer into the ground and wakes everyone up.

Eryth: "(startled) We're up!"

Jason: "(rubbing eyes) I expected this and decided to not stay up to talk about random stuff."

Jack: "(smiling) I'm up and ready!"

Joseph: "(groggy) I wish I had more of a warning..."

Jade: "C'mon Jason, get breakfast going and let's get to Thio!"

Jason: "(stretching) Does anyone mind helping?"

Jack: "(smiling) Just tell me what to do."

Joseph: "Jade and I will get our stuff ready to go."

Everyone does what is necessary that morning and quickly finish their trip to Thio two hours later.

Joseph: "So this is Thio..."

Thio is pretty barren with is being surrounded by long dormant volcanic rock, the town on the other hand is similar in design to Dycele.

Eryth: "(sighing) I know pottery was Dycele's thing, but I don't want to see a wave of pottery."

Joseph: "It was everywhere you looked, almost nothing else was there to look at."

Jade: "Well we need to find the Sages."

Joseph: "Good thing three Sages live here."

Jason: "Which three?"

Joseph: "Flame, Ice, and Lightning."

Jade: "(excited) That means less places to go!"

Joseph: "After here, we need to head to the beachfront town of Oeah to not only get the Water Rune, but to catch a ship to take us to the island with the Shadow Rune."

Jack: "(smiling) What're we waiting for?"

The group explores this one hell of a merchant to locate the Sages house, only to find it a few hours later.

Joseph: "Here we are."

Jack knocks on the door without a second thought as usual.

???: "Comi-"

A loud crash is heard inside.

Jade: "That didn't sound good."

A young girl with a book on her head opens the door.

Girl: "(confused) Who're you guys?"

Joseph: "I'm Joseph Yeweys, apprentice to the Light Sage, along with two allies and the chosen."

Jack: "(smiling) Hi."

Eryth: "(annoyed) Did you honestly forget about me?!"

Girl: "W-Well come in!"

Everyone walks inside.

Hope: "M-My name is Hope Quil."

Three figures sit inside a meeting hall like room.

Jade: "Well nice to meet you Hope."

A man with a red robe turns around to notice them.

Flame Sage: "Who're these people Hope?"

Jack: "(smiling) I'm the chosen!"

The three drop everything they're doing.

Flame Sage: "(shocked) Can this be true?!"

Eryth: "If I'm the emissary, then yes it is true."

Another man in blue attire gets his bearings straight.

Ice Sage: "That is quite unusual for an animal to speak the human language."

Eryth: "Look, Jack's here to challenge all three of you to prove his mastery over Runes 3, 5, and 7."

The only woman of three processes this info lightning fast.

Lightning Sage: "Right now?!"

Jade: "The quicker Jack finishes this, the more time we have to save the world."

Ice Sage: "Please explain."

Jason explains how he and Jade are mixed in this and about the traitor of the Sages.

Flame Sage: "Guess you kids really are mixed up in something far beyond your control."

Jack: "(smiling) Let's get it out of the way now. It'll only take five minutes."

Ice Sage: "You're pretty cocky for only having four Runes under your belt,"

Lightning Sage: "I'll be first."

Jack: "(confused) I'm taking all of you on at once."

Flame Sage: "Do you honestly believe that you can beat all three of us at once?"

Jack: "Yep."

Lightning Sage: "Then shall we?"

All four enter a giant arena like room.

Jack: "(smiling) So I get to use three Runes."

Jack pulls out his tome.

Jack: "(smiling) Rune #5 Lightning."

A blast of electricity heads straight for the Sages.

Lightning Sage: "I've got it!"

The electricity is countered as fire and ice head straight for Jack.

Jack: "(confused) Really?"

Jack sends fire and ice in at their opposites.

Ice Sage: "He caused his blood to flow two different ways at the same time?!"

Jack: "Rune #7 Ice."

Icicles erupt from the ground and head straight for them.

Ice Sage: "Here!"

The Sage attempts a counter.

Jack: "(smirking) Baited."

The ice bursts into flames.

Eryth: "He's learning how to switch the blood flow on the fly!"

The Ice Sage is sent flying into a wall.

Flame Sage: "He's good!"

Jack: "Rune #3 Flame!"

Flames hit head on.

Lightning Sage: "Now for-"

The flames begin releasing electricity.

Jade: "He is actually mixing Runes!"

Joseph: "Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of Vaile."

The two are slammed right into the Ice Sage.

Jack: "(smiling) Make that seven Runes."

Jack heals them in the blink of an eye.

Ice Sage: "Having your blood flow two different ways must be-"

Jack passes out.

Eryth: "(sighing) Tiring."

Hope: "(in awe) He really must be the chosen..."

Jade: "(sighing) But now we need to wait for him to recover."

Jade picks up Jack.

Jade: "Just point me to the nearest vacant room."

Ice Sage: "Follow me."

They exit the room.

Eryth: "He should be up and running by tomorrow morning."

Joseph: "We can help with anything while we're here."

Flame Sage: "Just help us in preparation for our meeting."

Joseph: "That's right! There is going to be a Sage meeting in a few days!"

Lightning Sage: "Just handle what you can handle."

Everyone is put to work, but meanwhile...

Aqua: "(sighing) To think this Sage meeting is happening soon."

Aqua stands in a vast room with a boy with a metal looking arm tied to a chair in the middle.

Aqua: "But to think that Jake Ayleaus would end up right here on my island and unable to stand up to me!"

Jake: "(in head) I can't beat her."

Aqua: "(laughing) You ready for another go around Ayleaus?"

Jake is untied from the chair by an unseen force.

Jake: "(in head) I can't fight her powers alone."

Jake shakily holds a sword in his hands.

Aqua: "Now try and entertain me this time."

Several figures appear out of a series of blue lights.
