Apo's P.O.V:

I was in the servant quarters working when another servant walked over to me and said that the king called for me.

I followed him over to where the king was waiting and bowed politely.

When I looked up I saw that Mile was also there.

"I just thought that it'd be best to reward you properly...Pick the girl you like and I'll let you marry her right here and now" The king said.

I clenched my hands into tight fists in anger as I glared at the floor.

"A man like you...Any woman would be willing to have you don't you think?" The king asked.

I looked up and smiled.

"Of course...And since I'm that much of a prize then...How about you give me your queen?" I asked.

The king glared at me.

I walked over to a girl servant I recognised as the one who gave me food when I was in the dungeon.

"Are you betrothed?" I asked.

She shook her head.

"Alright then" I said.

Then took her hand and walked her to the middle of the room before bowing politely.

"Thank you for this gift your highness...Your grace" I said.

Then took the girl and left the room not waiting for permission.

I stopped walking and let go of the girl's hand.

"I'm sorry about that you must be startled" I said.

She looked at the floor but didn't say anything.

"You saw me at the dungeon so if you decide to refuse I won't mind" I said.

Then walked past her.

"I've heard about you" She said.

I stopped walking.

"You have the means to kill them all so why didn't you?" She asked.

I turned to her and smiled before twirling once.

"Who? Me? How am I supposed to do it without killing myself in the process?" I asked smiling.

Then took out a rose out of her ear.

"A rose for you" I said as I handed it back to her.

She didn't say anything and I turned to leave again.

"I don't refuse" She said.

Then put her hand on my shoulder.

"You can at least have a family don't you think?" She asked.

Family? Yeah right...

What's the point anyway? If they're going to have their heads shoved into the mud in the end then isn't it better if they aren't born in the first place?

"Thank you...But I'll give you time to think again" I said.

Then left.

I was on my way back to the servant quarters when someone suddenly grabbed my wrist.

I turned and saw that it was Mile.

"Run away...Just leave this place Apo I know that you'll be happier if you do" He said.

I chuckled and shook my head.

"Do you really think it's that easy?" I asked.

Then put my other hand on his cheek.

He didn't flinch away like I thought.

"Get married then...Marry that girl and have a family of your own" He said.

I grabbed his collar.

"I don't want that anymore...Do you want to know what I want now?...I want to see blood and death and hear screams...I want to see everyone prostrating at my feet" I said.

He didn't say anything.

"Since the first day I decided to play this game with you...I knew how it'll end...I warned you...And in the end what I expected happened...But what I didn't expect is that I'll be really left with nothing at all...Not even my pride" I said.

He frowned.

"What?" He asked.

"While you were out negotiating for peace I got arrested and raped just because I asked for my freedom...Oh sorry...Your father didn't tell you right?" I asked.

Then smiled thinly.

"And what's worse is that even after all that I did for your home I'm still the demon everyone fears and wants to kill...Where would I go? Where would I go if I ever decide to run away?" I asked angrily.

I felt my eyes brimming with tears.

"Do you remember your promise? You told me that you'll raise hell on whoever hurts me...Can you raise hell on your father for me?" I asked.

A guard came closer so I yanked my hand out of his.

"As I told you before...The only thing we can do now is just live the way we're supposed to" I said.

Then left.

I went to the servant quarters but couldn't concentrate on my work so I slipped out unnoticed.

Wik flew from one tree to another as he kept an eye on me.

Then landed on my shoulder.

"You got bigger I almost didn't recognise you" I said smiling as I patted his head.

He relaxed under my touch.

"In our next lives I hope we'll meet again" I said smiling as I played with his ear.

I hid behind a wall when I noticed that the head of servants was walking down the hallway that led to the princess's room.

I followed her quietly and stopped near the door.

I decided that I've heard enough so I left before they'd notice.

I went to the study and noticed that Bible wasn't there.

I started looking around the room and looked at the scrolls on the tables but couldn't find anything so I decided to just wait for him to come.

I sat down on the floor and waited.

After sometime he finally arrived.

Bible's P.O.V:

I walked into the study after I was done talking to my father.

But frowned when I noticed that my scrolls were messed up.

Then saw Apo sleeping next to one of the shelves.

I put my hand on his shoulder to wake him up.

He stirred awake and looked at me.

"What is it? Are you alright?" I asked.

He nodded and stood up.

I started rearranging the scrolls on the tables again.

"Well then...What can I do for you?" I asked as soon as I was done.

"I've decided to get married" He said.

"That's good...You should also figure out what you want" I said.

Then turned to him and smiled.

"Congratulations in advance...I'm sure that she'll be the luckiest" I said.

He raised an eyebrow.

"Thank you but...That's not what I came to talk about...I think the matter is quite urgent so you must listen to me" He said.

I nodded.

"Alright then...I have some time before Pete comes for his lesson for the day so maybe we can talk about it over some tea while waiting for him to come don't you think?" I asked.

"Of course" He said.

I went to make the tea then brought over the buns the servant gave me.

I took the brush and started writing something on the scroll as I waited for Apo to start talking.

"You know...It has come to my attention that your talent in medication is quite outstanding" He said.

I stopped writing briefly.

"I hate this place...So much...Everyone in it is stupid...But I must admit that I was also tricked...I mean...You did such a great job hiding yourself" He said.

"I don't get what you mean" I said.

"Everyone in this palace spoke so highly of the young master's outstanding maturity and talent in medication but they missed one important detail...No matter how smart and talented a human can get it's still impossible for them to show your level of maturity at the age of ten...Don't you think so too?" He asked.

I chuckled and shook my head.

"As you said...Everyone here is stupid but it seems you're not as stupid as them" I said.

Then sipped my tea calmly.

"When you brought me out of the dungeon my wrists were tied up...They should have been bruised...Years ago when I was stabbed with that sword it should have killed me right away since I was pierced...And yet instead of dying you managed to batch me up and brought me back to life" He said.

Then pointed at the scrolls on the table.

"Those scrolls aren't normal...They're bewitched...The one who uses them gets a glimpse of past events...You've been using them for years now" He said.

I smiled and clapped my hands.

"Yes...You're right" I said.

He sighed heavily.

"You also have magic like me don't you?" He asked.

"Should I be scared that I finally got caught?" I asked.

"But how? I thought that there's only four types of magic" He said.

"And you're not wrong...But your magic is air...Mine is fire...I never tried using it for fighting so it took a peaceful path...I suppose it has to do with upbringing...You grew up in an environment that encouraged fights so your magic protected you the way it saw best" I said.

"So that's why you always refused to let anyone in when you were working?" He asked.

I shrugged and nodded.

"Blood is the fire that moves any living thing and generates heat...I use the heat in human bodies to boil their blood and force them to heal at an abnormal pace...That's why none of my patients died the herbs just make the patient's blood get back to normal" I said.

"What about your voice?" He asked.

"When people get angry the blood rushes to their heads if I alter the blood rushing to your ears I can easily force you to hear my voice" I said.

He nodded.

"Why didn't you show it?" He asked.

"Why would I? You of all people know what will happen to me if I do" I said.

He didn't say anything after that.

"Drink up...This tea is good I guarantee that it'll come to your liking" I said.

Then we both sat down and started drinking the tea while waiting for Pete to come.

"I must say that you're quite the outstanding one to have kept such a secret for too long" He said.

I sighed heavily and nodded to myself.

"Since we're talking about secrets there's something else you should know" I said.

Then put my cup down and turned to look at him.

"Nook's children...They're hers...But not Mile's" I said.

"What?" He asked wide eyed.
