Apo's P.O.V:

I went to the throne room as soon as I returned back to normal.

"Your grace I'd like to ask you to keep your end of the bargain" I said.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"You said that you'll give me my freedom if I fight off your enemies" I said.

"I did? When did I ever say that?" He asked.

I opened my mouth to say something.

"I never promised you anything so don't go assuming things on your own" He said.

I clenched my hands into tight fists.

"You're quite the valuable weapon...What makes you think I'll let you go that easily boy?" He asked.

Then stood up and walked over to me before putting his hands on my shoulders.

"Look at you...You've grown...If I remember correctly you're just a year younger then Mile aren't you?" He asked.

Then put a hand on my cheek.

"Such a fine young man you've become...I'm sure that girls your age would line up to look at you" He said.

Then put his hand on my throat.

"You can't leave this place...Just accept it" He said.

Then squeezed my neck lightly.

"News travel faster then light...Your heroic acts at the borders are well known throughout the entire kingdom...Everyone outside the palace knows about you now...They'll be willing to kill the demon if it ever threatens their peace" He said.

His pressure on my neck hardened and I started coughing.

"You'll live and die here...And you'll serve me until you die...And if you don't I'll just kill you myself...Do you understand?" He asked.

I chanted a spell and he fell to the floor as I started coughing and breathing heavily.

Then I ran out of the room as fast as I could.

The guards at the door ran after me.

I stopped running when two other guards appeared in front of me.

"Take him to the dungeon his grace ordered us to keep him there" I heard a guard say.

I raised a sword in front of me.

"DON'T YOU DARE COME ANY CLOSER" I yelled angrily.

"Where would you go? Everyone is after your head" The guard said.

Then two guards ran over to me.

I did my best to get rid of them but it was useless.

So I let go of the sword and decided to use my magic instead.

But right before I could use it I noticed a child walking around.

"Protect the young prince from the demon" One of the guards said.

I lowered my hands and reached out to get the sword back but a guard kicked it away from my reach and pointed his sword at me.

Then the king appeared from behind them.

And I was knocked unconscious.

When I woke up I was chained to the wall at the far end away from the door.

The king walked over to the door.

"I told you didn't I?" He asked.

Then two more men walked over to the door.

"I brought you something...I hope you don't mind but I have to keep you here no matter what and you didn't leave me a choice" He said.

I tried to break the chains around my hands but it was useless because I couldn't touch them.

"Do whatever you want...Just make sure he doesn't move" The king said.

The two men smiled then walked into the room.

"I hope you have a nice night...After all...It's what you like isn't it?" He asked.

Then turned to leave.

"NO...PLEASE COME BACK...I WAS WRONG...I'M SORRY" I screamed.

He stopped walking then turned to me.

"It's too late boy" He said.

Then left.

The two men walked closer to me...

By the time they left I couldn't even find it in me to scream anymore.

So I started laughing instead.

(Two days later)

Bible's P.O.V:

I got another pigeon so I took the message stuck on its leg.

Then started reading it and burned it right after I was done.

Then went to my desk and wrote another message and let it fly with the pigeon.

I paced the room back and forth as I tried to think of what I should do next.

If I wait any longer that princess will surely have the upper hand.

Should I just tell everyone what I know?

But who would believe me without evidence?

I was snapped out of my thoughts when someone knocked at the door.

"WHAT?" I yelled angrily.

Pete who walked from behind the door looked at the floor.

"Ummm...My work is done for today...But it's alright if you..." He started.

"Come sit down I'm perfectly fine" I said.

He nodded and sat down.

But when I went over to bring the necessary brushes and papers from the storage room I overheard some servants talking.

"I really feel bad...The man must have lost his mind" One of the girls said.

"If prince Mile was here he wouldn't have allowed that to happen" The other girl said.

I grabbed her shoulders.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

Mile was out negotiating with the enemy kingdom after the war was over so that left that power hungry king to do whatever he wanted.

"That man...He has been trapped at the dungeon for two days now" The servant said.

I let go of her and hurried over to my study and brought the necessary things.

"Pete come with me" I said.

Then we both went to the dungeons.

I walked past the guards and Pete raised his sword at them.

I wrapped the thin blanket around Apo and walked him out of the room.

He didn't say anything at all and just followed me out.

"Pete...We don't have to study now you can come back tonight" I said.

He nodded.

"I'll help" He said.

"No need I can do it myself" I said.

He opened his mouth to say something.

"I SAID I CAN DO IT MYSELF" I snapped.

So he left the room.

I sighed heavily and rubbed my temples.

"Apo...Apo can you hear me?" I asked.

He didn't say anything.

I sat down in front of him.

"Apo?" I asked.

He looked up and started crying before hugging me.

"What did I do? What did I ever do?" He asked.

I didn't say anything as I patted his back.

"I can't take it anymore...I've had enough...You're a physician aren't you?...So you must know about poisons...Please just give me some" He said.

"I'm sorry you had to go through this" I said.

He let go of me and chuckled causing me to frown in confusion.

"Sorry? Why are you sorry? Did you think I was really crying?" He asked.

Then laughed.

"I wasn't crying I just tricked you...It was believable wasn't it?" He asked.

Then looked up and raised a finger to his lips.

My eyes widened when I noticed that both of his were black.

"Shhh...Keep quiet...The king might hear you...He's obsessed with power...So he'll keep you trapped" Apo said.

Then laughed again.

"The king the king the king...Where did he go? The king the king...The king...The king the wisest king" He sang as he continued laughing.

I went over to the door and closed it from inside then walked over to him again.

"The king the king the king...THE KING THE WISE KING" He screamed.

Then clutched his head and laughed even harder as he turned to look at the floor.

I opened my mouth to say something thinking that he might have calmed down.

"The king the king the king...All hail the fair king...The kindest of all kings" He continued singing as he laughed and shook his head.

Then raised a finger to his lips again.

"Shhhh...The king might hear you" He said.

I started crying as I looked at what became of him when I remembered how playful he was when he first came here.

The wind started blowing strong.

I wiped away my tears and put my hand on his cheek.

My hand started hurting as I kept it on his face.

The whirlwind started blowing heavier and the people started screaming in fear.

I put my other hand on Apo's cheek.

"Apo...It's alright...You can rest now...No one will hurt you anymore" I said.

He grabbed my hands.

"Calm down...It's alright" I said in a calm voice.

Apo's P.O.V:

I heard a voice talking but I didn't know what they were saying.

I concentrated and finally started hearing it better.

"Apo...Calm down...It's alright...You're safe now" The voice said.

Safe?

How can I be safe? I'm a demon...

"You're going to be alright if you'd just listen to me" The voice said.

The voice was so strangely soothing.

"Apo...You're alright...You're alright" It continued.

Whose voice was that?

"Just forget it alright? I know that you mean no harm" The voice said.

I blinked twice and my vision cleared slowly then I saw Bible standing in front of me.

I frowned in confusion.

What?

How is that even possible?

Unless...

My eyes widened as I came to a sudden realisation.

Of course...How could I be so stupid?

I looked at my wrists and my theory was confirmed.

"Are you alright?" Bible asked.

"Y...Yes" I said surprised at how my voice sounded.

He let go of my face and nodded.

"That's good...But to make sure that doesn't happen again I suggest you stay here for a few days" I said.

I nodded.

"Do you want some tea?" He asked.

"Yes" I said.

He smiled and nodded then went to make it.

I looked at him as he busied himself with mixing the herbs.

"I hope you don't mind but Pete is coming later...He's my student so he might stay for a while" He said.

"Of course...I don't mind at all" I said.

He turned to me when he was done making the tea.

"Is something wrong?" He asked frowning.

"No...Not at all...Thank you for the tea" I said.

He smiled and put the tray down on the table.

"It's fine" He said.

Then we sat down and drank the tea silently as we waited for Pete to arrive.
