Missing Piece - Part 18
"We're here. What is it?" You looked at Kirito who pulled a sword out.
"I need to get stronger." He said walking towards the next area with creatures.
"Umm.. Kiri, even if you get stronger, you aren't going to kill a girl are you?"
"..." He stayed silent.
"No, I'll kill whatever's controlling her. I have an idea of who might help us, but he's a few towns over so we need to get stronger." He said, killing a monster with one slash.
You nodded.
"When will we get there?" You said, a few hours later after slashing monsters sitting down on a nearby bench.
"A couple of hours more. Maybe two." He slashed a monster and you saw his arm flop almost.
"You should take a break, you haven't taken a break. I can see your arms flopping."
He shook his head.
"No. I need to get stronger. We need to kill this monster." He stood up and 'fixed' his arm.
"I understand how much you want to kill this monster, but throwing yourself in and training until you faint isn't the way." You sighed.
"Of course it is, I've gotta protect everybody." He said as he let his sword drop to the ground, but he picked it up again floppily.
"Yeah but you gotta take a b--" You were about to say until he cut you off.
"U/N. I don't need a break, and I don't think you should be taking one either. I have to protect everybody, and you aren't cooperating." He growled.
"Me? Cooperating? Ha. Funny, I've been keeping you alive for the past 5 minutes. You aren't cooperating. This isn't all about you. You're saying you have to protect everybody and only thinking about yourself. If you really think you can do everything by yourself, go on ahead!" You said as you grabbed your sword and put it in your pocket walking away.
You walked away, each step getting faster with your anger. A few seconds later, you were running in an unknown direction. You stopped and looked around. This was the town Kirito was talking about, which means he's lost. Whatever, who cares? He was being a douche today. You walked around the town, trying to tone down your anger. You then saw a blacksmith area with the pink-haired girl inside. You decided to talk to her to give her thanks. Tapping her shoulder, she turned around and noticed you instantly.
"Hey dude! Hows it going? Where'd your cute boyfriend go off to?"
"How'd you know he was my boyfriend?"
"I've seen you both hold hands after I left. Why isn't he with you?"
"Because he was being a narcissistic prick. I decided to leave him alone for a while until he tones down his mood."
"Woah, those choice of words... He must have been a handful."
You nodded at her response, and sighed.
"I'm pretty sure Asuna texted me a few minutes ago saying that she's with Kirito." Lisbeth crossed her arms.
You sigh. "Kirito doesn't really like her, she can do what she wants, I don't care anymore.." You said in a depressed tone.
"I'm not really a jealous person unless someone gets really clingy." You say as you hold your head. "I need a break, any place in mind?"
She nods in a cheerful manner.
"Yup yup! Let's go!" She grabbed your hand and you both ran to the fields.
Kirito's POV
I watched her walk away with her harsh words, and she ran towards another direction. Who cares if she gets lost? I angrily slashed my sword at a creature, but I tumbled on a rock which almost made me fall. I growled. Thinking of myself? What does she know? I'm trying to protect everyone and she's saying I only care about myself. She'll eat those words once I kill that monster. I slash another monster, but the same rock made me fall on my stomach.
"Ow.." I groaned, trying to get up.
I heard a slash of a sword and looked up. It was Asuna. She extended a hand towards me and helped me up.
"You alright? What happened?" She said, almost as if she knew exactly what happened.
"Nothing.. Me and Y/N got in a fight and she's saying I only care about myself. Ridiculous, right?"
"I have to protect everyone, and she says I don't care.."
Asuna smiled. "You're just trying to protect everyone. I can't believe she said that."
"Finally, someone understands.." I rolled my eyes.
"Wanna come to my house for a bit? I can help you tone down a bit." She giggled.
"Sure.. Thank you for your offer." I smiled back at her too.
We were at Asuna's place. She was making food, and I was waiting on the sofa.
I looked at my SAO phone that the game master at least gave us to communicate. I scrolled down my contacts and saw Y/N's. I hovered over it. I sighed and decided to give a call.
Of course. No answer. I grumbled and closed the phone. It was worth a try, but that got me even more pissed.
Asuna than brought the food and I started to dig in.
"Thanks." I mumbled sadly.
But there was something missing.
Your POV
Liz took me to a cute flower field. You and Kirito have been here before. You sat down with Liz and she brought food, almost like a picnic. Kirito had called you earlier, but you were deciding if you would answer or not until the call ended. Liz took the food out of the basket, and set it down. You looked at the items she put out.
An apple.
"Hey Kirito! Look at the pretty clouds!" You said as you pointed at the sky.
"Yup.." He said as he took a bite out of an apple.
A marshmellow.
"That cloud looks like a heart!" You smiled.
"No, it looks like a marshmellow." He smirked.
"Whaat? No it doesn't!" You pouted.
"You're so cute." He laughed.
A slice of pie.
"Want some pie?" A guy that strolled by said.
"No thanks, we got some." Kirito said as he squished your cheeks.
"Stoooop..." You whined.
And silverware.
"Y/N? You've been staring at the sky for a couple of seconds, you good?" She half-smiles.
"Yeah.. I'm good."
But there was something missing.
