"TROY MORELLI! WHOSE UNDERWEAR IS THIS?!"
It was a beautiful, sunny day on the fourth of July. Nah, that was straight bullshit. It was a cold and rainy ass day in February. The clocks were all striking thirteen and the sound of the bell ricocheted throughout the dead city of No Man's Land in Toronto. The rain was pelting the long glass of the window the force of a tsunami and I swore I could feel it. The orange and blue sky outside was dim, dark and gloomy, darkening the entire city into a scene from a thriller. Even if it was daytime, one would think that it was night. I could almost imagine a series of murders began to unravel in what seemed to be the ordinary of a city. For a few seconds, our house would be illuminated by the crisp spark of lightning, only to return to the darkness.
There were no cars flying in sight, which meant that this storm was yet to come.
I hissed at the sound of my best friend's shrilly voice as she stood in front of the holographic door, the lens sliding down to let her cross. I turned to her as she walked over to her, wondering what she wanted from me. She held up a pair of lacy panties in her hand, her fair face contorted into one of disgust as her black hair held up in a ponytail. "These aren't mine, so who do they belong to?" She narrowed her eyes at me as I shoveled some more cereal into my mouth. I had no idea what flavor it was as it materialized out of the air. "Maybe it was from the girl who stayed over two nights ago. I don't know." I said with a shrug, not understanding what her problem was.
I didn't even remember the girl's name.
"You're such a playboy." 19-year-old Jade McKinley groaned out loud as she flung the underwear at me and I caught with my hand, studying the pair. It appeared that I banged a hot chick. I scowled at Jade's words, wondering why she had to be like that. "Don't be upset because you don't get laid like I do." I snorted, throwing the underwear in the trash. "You should see a doctor about that. All that pent up anger inside of you is not good." I nodded affirmatively. She had no idea what she was missing out on. Just because this mysterious demon lord said it was wrong didn't mean a fucking thing. I waved a hand in the air and all of a sudden, a holographic table came out and I set my bowl on top. "Napkin," I demanded to the small little A.I, who awaited my instructions.
Within two seconds, my hands were filled with a plush napkin.
"You should see a doctor about all those diseases you might have plaguing your body," Jade was suddenly dressed as she pressed a button in the air, sliding through outfits before deciding on one. " All those sicknesses aren't good for you." Jade tilted her head down at me while she clicked a button on the holographic screen and coffee was materialized instantly. "Fuck you." I mumbled and she looked around in fear, slowly smirking before her mood turned grim. "Today, we have to go out the back." She stated as she pointed to the silver sliding door in the back. "Why?" I asked, munching loudly on my cereal.
"Look outside."
I did as she told me and my eyes widened at the sight of the red demon cops riding on black hoverboards up and down our street. "If we go out there, who's to say what'll happen?" She muttered and I agreed with her. These god damn demon cops were a force to be reckoned with. You say one thing wrong, they could kill you. No one wanted to mess with them because they held your future in their hands. Some could form the skin of a human or they could choose to stay in the scary, ugly looking red skin of theirs. One thing they had in common is that they were all dicks. "But then again, do I really give a shit about them?" I shrugged, knowing that I could take my chances. "Give a shit or don't?" I raised my hands in the air as if I was weighing my options and I opted out. "Obviously, I don't give a damn and I'll walk anywhere I damn please." I snorted, our small robot assistant taking the dish from my hands and placing inside the sink machine, the water instantly coming out to wash it.
I hated drinking milk after eating cereal. It was weird, especially since the milk was organic. I was going to buy some regular milk and some Lucky Charms on my way home. We didn't have the right to eat what we wanted but I still ate any cereal I wanted because I could and who was going to stop me?
I stood, pressing a button on the clear screen in the air, scrolling through the outfits that were meant for me and only me. "Hm, this looks good," I pressed the outfit, watching as the robot brought the clothes to me. I motioned for Jade to turn around as I slipped on my outfit of sin. Damn, I looked fucking good and I didn't even need a mirror to tell me. "Troy, you can't wear that!" Jade screeched when she turned around, watching as she watched me grab my bag and slip on my beanie that matched my red shirt, my black ripped jeans, and my black combat boots: an outfit that would put me in hell with Satan. I was supposed to wear black dress pants with a yellow poncho because it was a uniform required for all of the humans but, uh, I think the fuck not. "Oh yeah?" I grinned, walking over to the clear front door, scanning my face in it to let me out. "Fucking watch me." The door slid down and I stepped out, much to her dismay.
An umbrella was materialized out of the air as it hovered over me. All of a sudden, lasers were scanning my figure as guns were pointed directly at me. I smirked as the two tall demon cops stood still as I inched closer to them. They really were going to pull the trigger. "Aye, chill out, you funky little shits." I raised my hands up in surrender. Was it really surrender? "Are you really going to ruin my education by ending my life?" I placed my hand on my chest in mock hurt. Like I really cared. "Then again, I don't give a fuck if you do that either." I shrugged, watching as they threatened to pull the trigger but I wish those two sacks of shits would. God, they're so ugly. If I had their face, I'd sue my parents for all they were worth.
"Blee bloo bleep, skrs, btks, werk blee kovsk." One of them spoke in their native language as his eyes stared into my soul. His red skin was visible with black marks seeping into the flesh, lines and ancient marks blazing across his form as his yellow eyes darkened to black. His canines elongated, white and vicious as his nails sharpened into talons. I took a small gulp. They were scary. "Who is this guy and what is he wearing?" The other of the red-skinned cops asked with vengeful annoyance in his tone, touching a button on their clear helmets and a little glass screen began projecting my image of grey-brown eyes, tan skin and blonde hair in front of their eyes. "Troy Victorino Morelli, age 18, born on March 23rd, 2114 in Wichita, Kansas, to one Vasily and Maria Morelli. Allergies include shellfish and peanuts. He is an Aries. Currently has 4,862 offenses against sir Alistair. Has a birthmark the shape of a heart on his rear end and-
I put a hand up. "Okay, creepy. What's next? You're going to tell me you can see the silver ring I got on my dick, huh?" I raised a brow, wondering if I could just walk right past them. It was like playing a game of Russian roulette. Would they kill me or would they not? "Go right fucking head." The cops both clenched their guns and sighed, closing their eyes. They were no doubt adding my use of profanity and disrespect of authority to my long list of offenses. "I'm going to go because I need education unlike you guys, who are as useful as a vibrator without batteries." I rolled my eyes, pretending to think, pulling my clear smartphone out to signal for my hoverboard. "Oh yeah, I wonder how you guys have that weird ass skin color." I scoffed, questioning how skin could be so vividly red. It was disgusting. "Angry bird looking ass," I muttered to myself. "I mean unless you were born as a flaming hot cheeto, there's no way in hell that's possible." I raised a brow, realizing my words. "Then again, you two dumb asses are from hell." I snorted, not missing the look of anger in their eyes.
They were recording and documenting me for a future trial. Go the fuck ahead.
"See you two cockheads later!" I began floating away in the cold rain, on my destination to school. I had known from the start that those two food coloring bitches wanted to kill me but they couldn't. They had to let the demon lord perform the judgment on me, whoever and wherever he was. He would review my documented offenses one day (I̶ ̶w̶i̶s̶h̶ ̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶) and then decide a feasible punishment.
I didn't give a shit. He could rain the fires of hell over us and I would parade in it.
Apparently, four years ago, the world we knew once as Earth was taken over by a powerful demon lord who thought of us humans to be inferior to him and his demon underlings. He had killed, he had destroyed anything and everything to prove his point. Once he was situated in Hell, sure he had us by the neck, he began to change the Earth as we knew it. He had created a whole new set of laws that we, the human servants had to abide by for life. When I first got the 13 laws in my mailbox, I threw them away. I was determined to live my life by my rules and no one else's.
No person who didn't clearly identify themselves in public couldn't tell me what to do.
This mysterious demon god of the world could go fuck himself 12 times to Sunday with a prickly cactus and he could choke on a dildo. I'd pay serious money to watch that.
It was dark and gloomy, the chills ruffling my clothes. I flew past the dingy green forest, sensing that there were many dark things hidden beyond the inconspicuous trees. Everything was torn down, bits and pieces of ruins scattered everywhere. No one had the money to fix up the city. We were granted enough luxury to live in the places that we did. I also flew past several other demon cops, who documented my use of a hoverboard as I flipped my middle finger up at them. They were so fucking useless. This damn demon lord wasn't going to do shit. If he was, he would've been handled it. I rolled my eyes as I came upon the familiar gravel pavement of the University of Toronto. I stood stagnant on my board as I landed my eyes on the tall castle-like expanded building in front of me.
People were walking and casually talking, fear embedded into their very souls. Their eyes darted around as they made sure that no demon cop was around but it was no use. No matter where you were, you would always be heard. The clock chimed again, signaling us that it was time to learn our studies. We had no reason to continue obtaining an education because our lives were decided for us once we graduated. All of those dreams of becoming a doctor, an actor or a graphic designer went out of the window. You were made to serve. People around me believed that, but no one was going to tell me what I could and couldn't do. I heard a whoosh to my left and I grinned at the beautiful brunette girl who floated past me. "Hey there, sexy thing. Come here often?" I called out and she looked back at me with a small smile gracing her tan face.
Damn, she was fine.
She was Natanya Kane, the most beautiful girl here. She had long brown hair with the most amazing blue eyes and smooth caramel skin that I just wanted to lick all day long. She had the most amazing personality as she was sweet, kind and social. She had the choice of living by herself in her own house because she was of some honorable status, whatever that meant. People wanted to date her but they were too afraid of her father. Rumor had it that he was a scary ass man. Who gave a fuck about her father?
Pussies.
"Try not to spring a leak here, T." I heard my best friend's voice and I turned to him with a smile, the rain doing nothing to deter my happiness. "What up, dickface?" I pulled my other best friend Avery Carmichael into a side hug and I hit him on the head, his brown hair all over the place. "You look rough, Avery." I sighed, placing my hands on his shoulders and turning my head towards his tan face, a look of concern on mine. "I think it's about time you stopped looking into the mirror before you crack it." I said in all seriousness and he narrowed his grey eyes at me.
"I hope you choke on a knife, you butt." He threw my hands off of him and pushed me away. I noticed the choice of words he used because the campus demon guard had his eyes on us but who cares? I clearly didn't. "What kind of knife though? I don't think I would enjoy deep throating an ax." I nodded affirmatively and he snorted, walking off in the direction of the entrance. "You might as well say you're gay, bro." He chuckled and I grinned, knowing that the concept was something that would never happen. "I would, but who would get their taste of the ladies if I didn't?" I raised a brow, licking my lips. It would be a dire travesty if I said so myself.
It was no secret that all the ladies here in No Man's Land wanted me just as much as I wanted them. I knew I was sexy as hell and I was packing, to begin with. To say I put the ladies to sleep in the bedroom, was an understatement. We all knew it was against the law to have sexual relationships but I didn't abide by no one but myself and the ladies just couldn't resist me and my natural charm when I put it to work.
"Don't you think I'll have a chance with that fine piece of ass?" I grinned at Avery, motioning to Natanya, and he grimaced, darting his eyes around like we were being watched. "Don't curse, Troy. You're not allowed to." He glared at me and I rolled my eyes, pretending like I took in his words. I felt my board vanish out of sight as my boots clicked against the limestone. "Yeah, yeah. You were saying?" I waved for him to get back on topic, hating how serious and gung ho he was about everything. "I'm serious Troy. But anyway, you aren't allowed to have sexual relationships with anyone." He stated and I folded my arms, staring at him as if I somehow cared. "Oh yeah, who said that?" I countered. "The demon lord." He stated.
Did it look like I cared?
Times like there were where I had to slap some goddamn sense into this blind fool. "But if he hasn't come down to Earth and made his laws known, hell, made himself known, what makes you think I am going to listen to some cocky ass shit face who thinks he can control everyone? Eh, I think not." I snorted, taking in his fear stricken face as he looked around us. "I don't know why you're so scared of everything, Avery. You're living mindlessly in this world, following the rules of someone behind the scenes. Why would you want that?" I asked, furrowing my brows.
Couldn't be me.
"It's a matter of principle, Troy. We have no choice but to or we will be killed and I value my life more than anything in this world." He sighed and I chuckled. "That's stupid as hell. How can you value your life when you aren't doing the things you want to be doing?" I raised a brow, my arms still folded. He stared at me, not knowing what to say, so I just ignored it. "Whatever," I waved a hand, thinking about my next conquest. "I think I'm going to try to score Natanya. Who knows, maybe she's rebellious just like me." I wiggled my eyebrows together and he rolled his eyes. Jade walked up next to Avery, taking in his nervousness as he stepped under her umbrella.
"What's the matter with you?" She asked and Avery muttered a grim reply. "Troy wants to try and pick up Natanya Kane and I told him not to." He murmured and she whirled around and looked at me like I was crazy. Why did everyone seem to come at me today? "Boy, are you out of your mind? I should slap you but I can't!" Jade snarled. "You cannot do anything crazy like that! Do you know how insane her father is? You will get killed!" Jade sighed, her cheeks turning red from yelling.
Again, did it look like I cared?
Did it appear as if I gave a single fuck?
"So what?" I looked at them like they were idiots and laughed a bit. They seriously had something stuck up their ass. "You guys need to take a breather. Why so serious all the time?" I pouted, not liking it at all. The clouds above us started to turn orange, a sign that the demon in hell was beginning to move. Rain slammed against the ground, drenching our shoes. The cold and harsh wind smacked against our faces as we shivered.
"I don't think you should try to do that, Troy. I'm sure you can get her and all but you cannot engage in anything with her or you'll be killed." Avery pleaded and I sighed. "Please Troy. Everyone says her father is really freaking crazy and I don't want you to get hurt or involved with that especially since the demon god is watching you at all times." Jade nodded, a look of fear in her eyes. These people needed to take a chill pill and calm their fucking asses down. It felt like I was hanging with two prudes.
I nodded with mock understanding on my face. "Wow, I see," I raised my brow, putting it all together. "He's watching me right now, at this moment. Wow, great." I grinned before I turned around and put up two middle fingers at the sky, waving them around. I didn't care that my umbrella fell or that I was gathering attention. "I don't give two single fucks whether or not he sees what I'm doing." I shrugged, using more curse words for advantage. This demon lord wasn't going to do absolute shit. "He can kiss my sexy ass for all I give a fuck for. I'm not going to live in fear of some pompous motherfucker who thinks he can control whatever the fuck he wants. He expects everyone to live by his rules and his rules only?" I laughed incredulously. "He's got another thing coming." I rolled my eyes as hushed murmurs filled the air. Fuck did I look like?
"Troy, stop." Avery gritted his teeth, clenching his hands as he backed away. "You're gathering attention." I turned my head slightly to see that all of the campus demon cops were watching me with a grim look on their ugly red faces and their yellow eyes narrowed as if they were taking notes in their minds. Let me help them out a bit.
"If you must know," I screeched, motioning for the cops to come closer and they did, hands on their gun. "My name is Troy motherfucking Morelli and you can tell your shitty boss that he can shove his laws right where the sun don't fucking shine cause he's not the boss of me." I clicked my tongue and the cops growled, taking a picture of me with a button they pressed on their helmet. Their piss eyeballs narrowed in slits as they hissed in their native tongue, promising death upon me. "Aw man, I wasn't ready for that." I pouted, actually wanting to pose. Maybe I could have done a duck face or a sassy stance, who knew?
"Troy, don't do that! You'll get yourself into something dangerous!" Jade backed away from the cops, not wanting to be a part of it. I sighed once again, not understanding why she had to point out needless things like I cared because I didn't. I never would. "Oh yeah?" I asked, humor in my tone, tilting my head between her and the malicious demon enforcement.
I raised a brow, a challenge in mind as I smirked, not giving a shit.
"Who's gonna stop me though?"
