Chapter no 2

Please mere paas aa jaiye maa.

Chikitsak Dhruv.

Druv turned hearing Sukanya,s voice.

He smiled slightly seeing her. He was about to rush towards her but stopped as she reached him.

Abhi mujhme kahin
Baki thodi si hai zindagi

Dhruv bent down to her level and Sukanya hugged him. He gently placed a hand behind her back responding the hug.

Jagi dhadkan nayi
Janna zinda hoon main toh abhi

The little girl,s presence brought a sense of comfort to him. She trusted him when no one was ready to even listen to him.

He broke the hug feeling his shirt getting wet. He looked at Sukanya and found her crying. Her eyes were filled with tears.

Sukanya. Mera bacha.

Dhruv said softly. He picked her up in his arms and made her sit on the bed. He wiped her tears.

Meri bahadur Sukanya ro kyun rahi hai?

Dhruv asked her softly cupping her small cheek.

Mujhe laga maine aapko kho diya, aur main phir se anath ho gayi.

Sukanya said. Her eyes welled up with a fresh round of tears.

Dhruv,s heart broke hearing her. Seeing her state, he got to know that how badly all this has affected her.

He pulled her close and placed her head on his chest. His one palm continued to rest on her head while he rubbed her back with the other one.

Sukanya aaj keh diya hai. Aage se mat kehna. Main hoon na yahan. Aur main humesha aapke sath hoon, aap anath nahin ho.

Dhruv said softly caressing her hair.

Kuch aise lagan iss lamhe mein hai
Yeh lamha kahan tha mera...

He pulled away from the hug and smiled while cupping her face.

Toh mujhe lag raha hai ke meri chutu bahadur Rajkumari ne kuch khaya nahin hai.

Dhruv asked with a soft smile pretending to think. Sukanya giggled and he smiled seeing her happy.

Ab hai samne
Isse chu loon zara
Mar jaun ya ji loon zara...

Aao mere sath.

Dhruv said softly. He held her little hand and they walked towards the dinner table. He made her sit on the huge velvety cushion and sat besides her on the other one.

Khushiyan choom loon ya ro loon zara
Mar jaun ya ji loon zara...

He tore a bite of roti and dipped it in the curry and brought it close to her mouth. Sukanya looked at him.

Aise kya dekh rahi ho? Mujhe pata hai aapne kuch nahin khaya.

Dhruv said softly.

Sukanya opened her mouth and Dhruv fed her the bite.

Ho... Abhi mujhme kahin
Baki thodi si hai zindagi

Dhruv continued feeding her. She brought a morsel close to his mouth. Dhruv looked at her and she gestured him to eat.

Dhruv got slightly numb seeing her gesture but he quickly composed himself and opened his mouth and she fed him.

Ho... Dhoop mein jalte huye tann ko
Chaya perh ki mil gayi
Roothe bache ki hasi jaise phuslane se phir khil gayi

Chalo ho gaya.

Dhruv said standing up. He wiped her mouth with a handkerchief.

Later

Chikitsak Dhruv. Ek prashan karein aapse?

Sukanya asked softly.

Dhruv who was patting her head while telling her the story looked at her and smiled.

Haan poocho. Ek nahin hazar pooch lo.

Dhruv said with a small playful smile.

Me: at least he smiles with her.

Woh ladki...

Sukanya paused.

Kyunke woh ladki usse pyaar kerti thi. Aur bharosa bhi.

Dhruv answered her unasked question but said the last part to himself as a whisper so she didn't hear.

Theek hai.

Sukanya said bringing him out of his thoughts.

He smiled at her and pinched her cheek. She giggled. He patted her head to make her sleep and she soon fell asleep.

Kuch aisa hi ab mehsoos dil ko ho raha hai
Barson ke purane zakham pe merham laga sa hai.

He bent down and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Dhanyawad Sukanya. Mujhpe bharosa kerne ke liye. It means the world to me. I promise I'll always protect you.

Dhruv whispered.

Kuch aisa reham iss lamhe mein hai
Yeh lamha kahan tha mera...
Ab hai samne
Isse chu loon zara
Mar jaun ya ji loon zara
Khushiyan choom loon ya ro loon zara
Mar jaun ya ji loon zara...

After whatever happened with him, he lost his ability to trust people. But then he looked at Sukanya and smiled at her. She had trusted him when nobody was ready to even listen to him, not even his Tara. Tara the girl he loved to the moon and back without any conditions couldn't trust him. He understood her point of view but a major part of him couldn't digest the fact that she couldn't trust him. But it's okay.

He tried to console his heart.

Per pyaar ki pehli shart vishwas hoti hai.

His brain said.

Dhruv had no energy to argue. He took a heavy breathe. He shut his eyes wanting to feel anything but was unable to do so.

Flashback

Maa

An 8 years old Dhruv called out his mother. His voice was feeble as he saw his mother coming towards him while holding things for support.

Maa aapko fever hai aap kyun aayi?

The 8 years old Dhruv asked worried.

Mera bacha takleef mein hai. Main kaise nahin aati?

Sushila said lovingly. She gingerly crassed his hair.

His eyes teared up.
He held Sushila,s other hand and kissed her fingers.

I love you maa.

Little Dhruv said with an adorable smile.

I love you too beta.

Sushila said lovingly and kissed his head.

Kya maa humesha bache ko protect kerti hai?

Little Dhruv asked innocently.

Haan humesha.

Sushila said with a smile caressing his hair.

Toh aap bhi mujhe humesha protect karoge na?

The little boy asked innocently looking at sushila with his big doe shaped eyes.

Haan mere bache.

Sushila said chuckling.

Otay.

Little Dhruv said childishly. Sushila laid down beside him and he snuggled into his mother,s protective embrace.

Flashback Ends!!!

Dhruv felt his heart heavy with longing. He longed for his mother,s protective embrace. He wanted to hide in the warmth of her embrace but couldn't.

Please mere paas aa jaiye maa. Aaj aapke bete ko sabse zyada zaroorat hai aapki I wish aap mere paas hote. I know poori duniya mujhe galat samajh le but aap zaroor mera trust kerti.

Dhruv,s heart called out softly.
